  • Xbox One’s Still in Stock, PS4 Users Out of Luck

    Xbox One PS4 Stock

Despite Microsoft making claims that they have completely sold out of Xbox One consoles, just by visiting a few stores like Best Buy or Toys R Us will reveal that there are in fact many consoles still available for purchase right from the shelves.

We're not sure why Microsoft decided to say that all Xbox One consoles were sold out when it's clear that there are many still around for purchase, and although some retailers may have run out of stock, the Xbox One inventory is still pretty high.

Did Microsoft lie, or was it a silly mistake? At this point it’s hard to say but it's easy to assume that the former is the answer, however, let's not put too much focus on that and concentrate on the real problem.

Even though 1 million PlayStation 4 consoles were sold within 24 hours, it looks like Sony, unlike Microsoft, really have run out of stock, and according to GameStop, a lot of people are still waiting for their console to arrive.

GameStop have announced that 2.3 million of their customers have signed up to their "first to know" email subscription system, despite already selling through their first shipment of consoles and then a second additional allocation from Sony.

This is just news from one retailer, but it’s likely to be the same story almost everywhere else as well.

If you haven't managed to bag yourself a PlayStation 4 already, it' s unlikely at this point that you'll manage to get one till more go into production. If you're living outside of North America, you still have a chance to grab a console at launch.

  • Price Drop on Xbox One Titles At Amazon

    Xbox One Discount Exclusive Games

If you're hoping to bag yourself a deal without having to deal with competition with other shoppers on Black Friday, you may want to hop over to Amazon because they have just temporarily reduced the price of some of the current available Xbox One games.

All three blockbuster Xbox One exclusive launch titles have been reduced in price; this includes Dead Rising 3, Forza Motorsport 5, and Ryse: Son of Rome.

All three games will be reduced in price by $10, taking their $59.99 price tag to just under $50 bucks.

On top of this, these copies of the game are Day One editions, which means you'll be able to bag yourself exclusive content that will not be available to anyone other than early purchasers or pre-ordered copies.

For Ryse: Son of Rome this includes an exclusive box art and new unlockable gladiator items. The Dead Rising 3 Day One edition comes bundled with an exclusive box art as well, along with the exclusive tribute pack which pays homage to Frank West, the protagonist of the first two games by including extra features such as a Classic Frank West costume, Frank's Zombie Slugger weapon, exclusive special attacks, a custom skill move and perks for added melee damage and health.

Forza Motorsport 5 Day One Edition comes packed with the Day One Edition car pack exclusive to the early purchasers which includes the 2010 Audio TT RS Coupe, the 2013 Ford Focus ST and the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggara.

  • Battlefield 4 Double EXP Week Planned

    Battlefield 4 Double EXP

To say sorry for all of the problems since the launch of the game on Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3, DICE manager Karl Magnus Troedssen has announced that all players will be offered double EXP for a whole week for all of the games they play within the double EXP week period.

The week will start on November 28th and will end on December 5th, and although it hasn't been confirmed yet, we assume this will apply to all consoles, including the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

On top of the double EXP, players who play the game on December 5th will receive an exclusive weapon. Karl Magnus Troedssen said "On December 5 we will give all players that log in to Battlefield 4 multiplayer a M1911 pistol scope," said Troedsson. "This special sidearm scope, previously reserved for our DICE developers, has a 3X zoom and is available for all classes in Battlefield 4." To receive the gun, players will only have to log in to Battlefield 4 multiplayer with their EA account or console gamer profile.

Whilst a lot of players have complained about terrible server latency, EXP loss, corrupted save data, among other issues, DICE have announced that they are working around the clock to smooth out as many issues as possible, and Karl has confirmed that everyone working at DICE is currently working together to fix all of the current launch problems.

A hotfix patch was released last Friday to resolve some server problems, and a patch was released on Monday 25th,  so things are slowly getting worked through.

  • FIFA Manager 14 Marks the Ends of EA's Football Management Game

    FIFA Manager 14 Cancelled

After tough competition from other football management games, EA has announced that FIFA Manager 14 will be the last game in the franchise.

In an open letter on the FIFA Manager blog, Gerald Kohler wrote "Today I'm writing to tell you that FIFA MANAGER 14 will be the last installment of the football simulation series marketed by EA SPORTS. This is was a very tough decision, so I want to take the time to explain it. This probably comes as a big disappointment to many of you, and it is understandable that you would ask why. "

Kohler went on to describe their defeat, and admit that although their games have been enjoyed by many, Football Manager held the crown, and has ultimately beaten FIFA Manager in every way possible.

"The football manager genre at this level of sophistication is highly specialized and primarily played in two countries (England and Germany), in which - on top of everything - one game has practically dominated the market in recent years. The niche market and general trend toward online and mobile games were also contributing factors. Moreover, FM had reached a crossroads at which a new engine and/or corresponding online technology would be the only way to give the series a boost. When all these factors were evaluated, it led us to the decision to blow the final whistle.'

For those that enjoyed the FIFA Manager series this may come as a bit of a disappointment to you, but FIFA Manager 14 will be released before the series is trashed, which means you'll still be able to experience EA's football management game on the next generation.

  • New Bully Contract Has Been Filed by Take Two

    New Bully Contract

Previous whisperings and rumors suggested that Take Two knew about a new Rockstar game that would continue a previously created franchise, and we speculated that it may be a new Bully game.

A new bit of information seems to hint that a new Bully game is coming, and this could mean we have a next gen Bully game in the works.

Although no announcements have been made, Take Two, the publisher backing Rockstar, have filed a new trademark with the name "Bully Bullworth Academy: Canis Canem Edit."

Although neither Take Two nor Rockstar have made comments on the trademark filing, it's pretty clear at this point that some kind of new Bully experience is coming, and when putting two pieces of the puzzle together, it makes sense that Bully Bullworth Academy will be a brand new game in the Bully franchise.

This trademark name has been filed for Europe, however a United States filing has not taken place due to there being similarities with another trademark name, Bully in a Box.

It's likely that after Rockstar Vancouver wrapped up with Max Payne 3, they got straight to work on the new Bully Bullworth Academy game, so it could be possible that the game could be released for last generation consoles, but hopefully we’ll see the new Bully game on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 too.

Right now, we also have no idea just how long it will take Rockstar Vancouver to release the game, but we'll keep you updated on any news or announcements that may take place.

  • Sony Confirmed 1 Million Hardware Day One PS4 Sales

If you're interested to hear about the results for first day sales for the PlayStation 4 in the United States, you'll be happy to find out that things have been pretty positive for Sony.

President of Sony Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, took to twitter to announce that a total of 1 million PlayStation 4's sold on the first day of release in North America alone.

To top that number, Sony plan to sell a total of 5 million units by the end of March 2014, and to be honest at this point in time it's pretty likely Sony will be able to hit this number.

Without taking into consideration any bundles, extra controllers, games or accessories that may have sold, 1 million units sums up to a total of $399m. 5 million units worth would end up being just under two billion at $1.9B.

Sony already announced that a total of 1 million PlayStation 4's had been pre-ordered back at Gamescom in August this year, and with Christmas right around the corner, a big chunk more PlayStation’s will be sold off.

We've yet to see the international release of the PlayStation 4 as well, which will could possibly bring in at least another 1 million launch day sales across the UK and Europe.

It will certainly be interesting to see how these numbers stack up against the Xbox One, and how the launch of each console could potentially affect the sales of the other.

  • Batman: Arkham Collection Edition Announced

If you haven't yet got your hands on any of the great new Batman Arkham games, you may want to wait a tiny bit longer before splashing out on either of the three games in the series.

The reason for that is Interactive entertainment and DC entertainment have just announced a brand new collector's edition that packages all three of the Batman Arkham games into a bundled trilogy. The collector's edition will include digital copies of the first two games, Batman: Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Asylum, and a disc based copy of the latest game, Batman: Arkham Origins.

The new Batman: Arkham Collection Edition will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, and will be released in the UK on November 22nd. The release date for other regions has not yet been announced, but it's unlikely to be far away from other releases.

The bundle copy will be able to be picked up for £59.99 ($37) on consoles and £49.99 ($31) on PC, and will include the extra content that has been released for the games since their launch. This includes the Knightfall DLC pack for the PS3 version, and Game of the Year copies for both Arkham City and Arkham Asylum for the PC.

Seeing as Batman Arkham Origins can currently be bought brand new for around £35 in-store, it's not that bad of a deal if you're looking for an easy way to get the new games and extra content.

However, the option to buy second hand is always open, and it's likely you could pick up all three games for a pretty cheap price at this point.

  • Some PS4 Launch Models Having Issues

A small percentage of PlayStation 4 users are complaining about various issues related to the new next generation console, and some of these problems are even preventing customers from playing on the PS4 at all. These problems range from HDMI display problems such as a broken HDMI port out of the box, or a console that refuses to output any signal after downloading an update, to more mysterious updates that cause the PlayStation 4 to pulse it's line of lights a certain color depending on the issue that the console is dealing with. This has spread a lot of conversation across the internet, and the general consensus is that along with the HDMI problems, and what people are now calling the YLOD, (yellow light of death) it may be best to wait before buying a new PlayStation 4 console if you haven't pre-ordered already. The scale of the problem is of course hard to gauge at this point, and like any kind of product, the unhappy minority are always going to make more noise than the satisfied majority, and Sony have yet to comment on the scale of the problem. If you have ran into any problems, you are probably best off taking it back to the retailer you received it from and picking up another model if available, or if you ordered online, phone up or send an email asking for a replacement as it's likely the issues will be covered by the warranty. Sony are also suggesting that anybody with faulty hardware should send it back to them to get it fixed.

  • Call of Duty Ghosts Hacks Run Rampant

Despite Sony's and Microsoft's best attempts to keep hackers and modders out of the gaming communities on both the PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE, it seems more and more people are finding ways into the system to cheat online and ruin gameplay for others.

Call of Duty has never been perfect for this, and when it comes to modded lobbies and cheats running around in-game, the average Call of Duty gamer has probably heard at least something about such things existing.

Unfortunately, it looks as if hacks and cheats on Call of Duty Ghosts have hit an all time low. Many players are reporting issues with players using hacks to give them access to perks all the way through a game, and others have accidentally found themselves inside a modded lobby, where players are boosting and gaining thousand’s more points per minute than actually possible.

On top of the hacking problems within the game itself, news has hit that a team of hackers have managed to release a torrent file for the Xbox One version of Call of Duty Ghosts, despite the next gen console not actually being available in retail yet.

The torrent would allow pirates to illegally play the game by downloading it onto a blank blu-ray disc.

Despite all of these reports, Infinity Ward have yet to make a comment about the problems, and many players are concerned that the issues will never be addressed at all.
