  • NBA 2K18 Prelude Demo Available for Free

nba 2k18 prelude demoIf you're not getting excited for NBA 2K18 yet, the new Prelude demo might get you interested.

The Prelude demo is available for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners and will give players a chance to try out NBA 2K18 for free in anticipation of the game's impending release.

With Prelude, players get to dip their feet in the new MyCareer mode. Players will also be given the opportunity to test out the Neighborhoods mode.

In Neighborhoods, players are given access to an online social space where they can interact with other players, challenge others to games, and play various activities, some of which can improve their player's stats.

Interestingly, the developers are letting players keep hold of the progress they make during the Prelude demo. If you improve your character's stats, change your character's appearance, or make any other progress, it'll stay with your account when you purchase and play the full game.

NBA 2K18 is set to launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC on September 19. However, those who have preordered the game are given the opportunity to play the game four days earlier on September 15.

Are you interested in NBA 2K18 and the new MyCareer and MyPark changes? If you're on the fence, we'd suggest giving the Prelude demo a download. It's free to download and play and will be available up until NBA 2K18 launches later this month.

  • New NBA 2K18 Social Space To Change Up Multiplayer

NBA 2K18 neighborhoodsThis year, the NBA 2K18 multiplayer mode is getting a huge overhaul. In NBA 2K18, a new social space called Neighborhoods is being added.

In the new Neighborhoods mode, players will be able to customize their own player, interact with others, and take part in a variety of different activities, some of which are related to basketball, while some aren't.

The Neighborhood mode will take place in a separate map that'll feature a set of American city blocks. Basketball courts, shops for customizing your character, and other recreational areas will be included.

The new Neighborhood mode will essentially work as a lobby for players to hang out in while waiting for games in either of the MyPark, Pro-Am, and MyCareer modes.

Players will also be able to take part in different activities to improve their player's skills to help them be better players on the basketball court. Players will share the Neighborhood with other players that are online.

At any time, a player can interact with another player and invite them to a MyPark game. Alternatively, they can drop out and progress through the MyCareer or Pro-Am modes.

NBA 2K18 is set to launch for the majority of platforms on September 19. The consoles that will support NBA 2K18 includes PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

The new MyCareer mode will have more of a focus on developing your own personal storyline, as opposed to progressing through a season as an existing basketball team.

  • Xbox Game Pass Announced

xbox game passThe Xbox Game Pass has been announced and it's seeking to be the Netflix of gaming.

The newly announced Xbox Game Pass will cost users a monthly fee of $9.99, but with it will come unlimited access to over 100 titles. Unlike Netflix, users of the Xbox Game Pass will be able to download their games and play them - there will be no limit to the amount of games a player can download at once, as long as they have enough internal memory and their Xbox Game Pass subscription is still active.

Some of the games included in the Game Pass are older titles that can be picked up for cheap, both digitally and in physical form, but a lot of the games are recent releases. Most titles on the list so far are considered to be very decent games, too.

Highlights of the Game Pass include access to Halo 5: Guardians, Gears of War Judgment, Gears of War Ultimate Edition and NBA 2K16. The Xbox Game Pass also includes a number of classic Xbox 360 titles and arcade games such as Kameo, Hexic HD, Perfect Dark Zero and Fable 3.

So far the Xbox Game Pass is limited to select users, but it will be rolling out to the public later this year. It's expected that more games will be added to the Xbox Game Pass regularly, but most new titles will be Xbox One exclusives. There may be a waiting period between a game release and it's availability on Xbox Game Pass, though. While Gears of War and Halo 5 are available, neither Halo Wars 2 nor Quantum Break are available on Xbox Game Pass yet.

  • NBA eLeague is Coming

NBA eleague 2018NBA fans rejoice, Take-Two and The NBA have just announced an eLeague for their NBA video games. The esports league will focus on the NBA 2K game series and will open up the opportunity for players to compete at a competitive level for monetary prizes.

"We believe we have a unique opportunity to develop something truly special for our fans and the young and growing eSports community. We look forward to combining our best-in-class NBA sports team operators with Take-Two's competitive gaming expertise to create a brand new league experience."

Don't worry, the real NBA league will still go ahead unaffected, but this branching off by NBA and the subsequent partnering with Take-Two will open up new opportunities, specifically for those that play NBA 2K competitively.

The league will start in 2018. 30 teams will take part in the league and each NBA franchise has been set the task to scout out players for their teams. Each team will have 5 players in total. Interestingly, players will not be able to use existing players in the league and will instead be forced to create their own avatars to represent themselves.

"Through the NBA 2K series, which is renowned throughout the world for capturing the authenticity of the NBA and the passion of its fans, we have a proven track record of highly successful collaboration. • "BioShock: The Collection" is Coming

    Bioshock The Collection Game

2K Games has announced that a new BioShock collection will be coming soon. The collection will feature the previous BioShock games and all related DLC packs. As you can imagine, the title for the collection is simply "BioShock: The Collection."

2K Games made the announcement with an announcement trailer, which has been posted to their Youtube channel. If you've played the BioShock games then the trailer is certain to send chills down your spine. It may be surprising, but it's been nine years since the first BioShock title. Nine years!

2K Games has described the collection as being a $59.99 bundle with other $100 worth of content. Obviously this is taking the full game digital retail prices into consideration, and not the far cheaper price of a used physical copy.

All three games have been remastered for Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 with help from Blind Squirrel Games. Below, the content from each three games in the collection has been listed. On top of the full games and complete DLC, a number of extra have been added for each game. BioShock will receive a director's commentary called 'Imagining BioShock,' a virtual museum and extra challenge rooms.

BioShock 2 will receive the Minerva's Den and Protector Trials DLC. BioShock Infinite will include all of the previously released DLC. Whilst everything seems pretty feature-rich, the multiplayer content in BioShock 2 will not be available unfortunately.

The new collection will be available for purchase on Xbox One, PS4 and PC from September 13.

  • Evolve Receives 2014's Best of Gamescom Award

evolve gamescom awardsThe brand new 4 vs 1 shooter title from 2K has managed to pick up a variety of different awards from Gamescom this year, including the 'Best of Gamescom Award.' There's no denying that Evolve has managed to impress a pretty large audience, and I hope that the game manages to live up to what we've come to expect from the title so far.

On top of grabbing the Best of Gamescom Award, Evolve has managed to pick up an award for the best console game from Microsoft Xbox, an award for the best action game, the best PC game, and the best online multiplayer game.

Surprisingly, the only other companies to get awards from more than one category were Sony and Nintendo, making Evolve the biggest hit of Gamescom 2014 by far.

Other games like Super Smash Bros, The Evil Within, Splatoon, Risen 3 and Littlebigplanet 3 managed to pick up awards too, however no other game was awarded the winning award in more than one category.

Evolve looks to change the first person scene up by pitting four players against one another player. The fifth player gets to control large alien creatures, and put other pressures on the team of four humans. Evolve will release exclusively for the Xbox One later this year on October 21st. In the meantime, hopefully we'll get to see a bit more about the game before it is finally released. I'm not sure about you, but I personally cannot wait to get my hands on Evolve.

  • Civilization Beyond Earth Planned for October Release Date

civilization beyond earth release2K Games has finally announced the release date for the next Civilization game. Civilization: Beyond Earth will be available for players to purchase on October 24th this year.

Beyond Earth will take the core gameplay of Civilization 5 and breathe new air into it by offering new experiences, and most importantly, the ability to send your civilization to space, which is a first for the franchise.

So far, Civilization: Beyond Earth has been set for an exclusive PC launch, and details for a console release have not yet been given. However, if you're still interested, you'll be able to purchase Beyond Earth for $50.

If you decide to pre-order Civilization: Beyond Earth, you'll also receive a fairly decent pre-order bonus in the name of a new map pack. The map pack has been named the Exoplanet pack and it comes with six different maps.

So far it is unclear whether the Exoplanet map pack will be exclusive for early adopters, or whether it will be made available after the release date of Civilization: Beyond Earth as a DLC pack.

The Exoplanet pack will come with the following maps; Kepler 186f, a forest-based planet similar to Earth, Rigil Khantoris Bb, a continental based planet, Tau Ceti d, a planet filled with sea and expensive resources, Mu Area f, a hot desert planet, 82 Eridani e, a planet with limited water, and Eta Vulpeculae b, a planet filled with 'mysterious terrain.'
