  • File Size for Fallout 4 Xbox One Digital Download Leaked

fallout 4 file size xbox one

The file size for the digital version of Fallout 4 has been leaked through Microsoft's listing of the game, and I must say, you will be pleasantly surprised to hear the numbers, especially if you're currently low on hard drive space.

There's no denying that Fallout 4 will be one of the most, if not the most expansive games released this year and as a result players are already expecting a large download size. Surprisingly though, Bethesda has done a great job at keeping the file size at a minimum.

If you choose to purchase Fallout 4 digitally on the Xbox One, you'll be looking at downloading and installing 28.12GB worth of space onto your console. The PlayStation 4 numbers haven't been revealed but they are likely to be very similar to the Xbox One's number.

At 28.12GB, you shouldn't have to worry at all about installing Fallout 4 onto your hard drive. It's also important to remember that you won't have to use any storage space for the base game if you purchase the physical copy of Fallout 4. Players will need to install additional patches, have space for save files and be prepared to install digital DLC in the future but this shouldn't take up anything near the full 28GB install size.

Although this news is quite surprising, Bethesda has always managed to keep the file size of their games to a minimum. Fallout 4 will apparently have twice as many assets as Skyrim, which took up a total of 6GB on it's launch date.

  • Rainbow Six Siege will Have No Singleplayer Campaign

    rainbow six no singleplayer

It's becoming an increasing trend for AAA titles to have less focus on the singleplayer aspects and more focus on the multiplayer. This is especially the case for many first person shooters over the last few years.

The first game to see a multiplayer only experience was Titanfall and since then we've now got Battlefront and it's now been revealed that Rainbow Six: Siege will also have no singleplayer campaign. This means that, besides the co-op mode Terrorist Hunt, everything in Rainbow Six: Siege will be on a player-versus-player basis, and almost everything will be done online either with or against other players.

There are a couple of exceptions to the above information. Rainbow Six: Siege will have a few training missions as well as a versus mode against AI for offline play, but these are the only offline options for players.

This information was revealed by Siege's art director Scott Mitchell, who said that players will, "Go through training, where you get to experience different operators and their devices. You can play against enemy AI in co-op through all the maps. You can customize matches, so that's what we're offering on the single-player side of things."

At this point it's not uncommon to see multiplayer only titles so the latest news about Rainbow Six: Siege doesn't come as much of a shock. A lot of players are unsure of the costs of the game though, which will set players back $60 on all platforms. Would you be willing to pay $60 for Rainbow Six or would you rather spend that on another game, such as Fallout 4, Black Ops 3 or Halo 5, which will have a story campaign?

  • Xbox Live Games with Gold October Lineup Revealed

    games with gold walking dead

The October lineup for Xbox Live Games with Gold has finally been revealed. Major Nelson has posted up all of the games that will be available for free throughout October. Check out the list below.

Xbox One - Valiant Hearts: The Great War
Xbox One - The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season
Xbox 360 - Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
Xbox 360 - The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season

From October 1st to October 31st, Xbox One players will be able to get their hands on Valiant Hearts: The Great War. This is easily the least known title on this month's lineup but doesn't mean it's bad. In fact, Valiant Hearts has received amazing awards and scores across the board, thanks to it's mesmerizing story and challenging puzzle aspects.

The next Xbox One title will be available starting October 16th and will be up for free till November 15th. This title is of course The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season. If you don't know this game by now, you probably haven't been in touch with the gaming world for a long time. I think it's great that the entry into the series is being put up for free to allow access to all those that haven't had a chance yet.

On the Xbox 360, The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season is also being put up for the second half of the month, starting October 16th and lasting till October 31st. Finally, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will be free for the first half of October for all Xbox 360 owners. For anybody interested, Ground Zeroes will give players a small taste of what The Phantom Pain is like.

  • Here's The 10 Best Games of All Time, According to EDGE

    best games of all time

What games mean the most to you as a gamer are going to be down to personal preference and taste of genre, but when a good game has been developed, you simply can't dismiss it as anything other than a good game. EDGE has attempted to list the 100 top games of all time and I'd have to agree with a lot of the games on the list. Whilst we won't be posting the whole 100 games here, as it is quite lengthy, we've decided to cut to what matters the most - the top 10 games of all time, according to EDGE.

First up, let's take a look at the first five games, from spot number 10 to spot number 6.

    9-Resident Evil 4

8-Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

    7-Super Mario Galaxy 2

At number 10, Minecraft definitely deserves a good mention. It's managed to break into millions of homes across the world as one of the most compatible games for all audiences. In terms of pure gameplay, Minecraft is certainly very incredible, but it misses that magical feeling you get when being taken away on an adventure through a carefully crafted story. I'd definitely give props to all of the other games on this list too. Ocarina of Time deserves a bit of a closer shot towards number one in my personal opinion.

    5-Half-Life 2

    3-The Last of Us

    2-GTA V

    1-Dark Souls

These five games above are the top five games of all time according to EDGE. The Last of Us and GTA V are instant classics, that's for sure. Dark Souls was an interesting choice - definitely a great game but is it really the best? I’m sure that's down for a big discussion.

  • Halo 5: Guardians will Launch Without Issue, Says Xbox Boss

    halo 5 guardians launch

There's no way to deny it. Halo: The Master Chief Collection launched with tons of issues and it completely ruined the possibility for many players to even play the game properly. 343 Industries has definitely taken the poor launch of the Master Chief Collection to heart though, and the boss of Xbox, Phil Spencer has spoken out about 343's promise to make sure Guardians is released without any problems.

"I know that of all of our teams, no team at their core feels the need to hit a great launch from a multiplayer and connection issues more than 343. That team took the issues around the launch of Master Chief Collection, it kind of hit them in the heart, because it's Halo Nation. It's the people who love these past Halo games."

Every time Phil Spencer has gone to visit 343 Industries, he's been impressed by their dedication to ensuring the quality of Halo 5, and it's multiplayer in particular, is as high as possible.

"No team is focused on it more than 343," Phil Spencer mentioned. "The planning and process teams have gone through has been great, and I'm confident in how it will launch based on the results that we're seeing."

Spencer also briefly touched on the subject of other first party developers having solid launches for the Xbox One this year. "It's really nice to see that the teams have taken an increased focus on making sure that launch goes extremely well for our customers."

  • Rainbow Six: Siege Beta Comes to a Close

    rainbow six closed beta

Over the weekend, thousands of players were invited to try out the closed beta for Rainbow Six: Siege, the upcoming tactical shooter from Ubisoft. The beta started on Thursday after the pre-beta technical test ended and it continued to early on Monday morning.

A lot of players have been very impressed with Rainbow Six: Siege, which seems to wonderfully blend inspiration from a wide range of different titles. There's no doubt that Siege really does feel like it's own game in it's own right, despite having some game modes and game mechanics similar to Counter Strike, Call of Duty, Battlefield and even Arma 3.

For the most part, the beta went by smoothly, although the beginning did have a few issues. A lot of players did complain about the inability to pre-load the beta and in the first few hours, server issues were fairly common. Past the launch of the beta, most players managed to play without any complaints.

Surprisingly Rainbow Six: Siege managed to run smoothly on a variety of different PC builds and the PS4 and Xbox One performance was just as good. Hopefully the beta period will allow Ubisoft to iron out any potential server issues, fix game balance problems, nerf the riot shield and work on including a pre-load option for the full game.

It has been revealed that Rainbow Six: Siege will be fully released on December 1, 2015. It's unlikely that there will be any more beta periods before the release date.

  • Halo: Master Chief Collection Will Soon Punish Quitters

    halo mcc quitters

Halo: The Master Chief Collection will soon get an update that will finally add a system to punish quitters. As it currently stands, players can quit matchmaking games half way through with very little punishment which leaves games unbalanced and unfair, especially in team games.

Thankfully 343 Industries has nearly completed development for a system that will punish and discourage quitters. Unfortunately 343 didn't go into much detail about how the Master Chief Collection will punish quitting. Instead, a small blog post was listed to explain that the upcoming patch will "address a variety of areas, including ranking, will add new systems for quitting and penalties, and will improve a number of community items."

So far, 343 Industries has not set a release date for the changes, but it would be safe to say that the new changes will be released in a patch before the end of the year. Hopefully in between now and then we'll hear some further details about exactly how the quitting punishments in the Master Chief Collection will work and also more information on what other things the new patch will include.

It's great to see that 343 Industries are still working hard to make The Master Chief Collection playable, balanced and enjoyable for everybody involved. Especially considering Halo 5: Guardians has a release date just around the corner.

For those unaware, Halo Guardians will be release on October 27, exclusively for the Xbox One.

  • Life is Strange Final Chapter Release Revealed

    life is strange polarized

The last chapter of Life is Strange has finally received a release date. The final episode for Life is Strange has been named Polarized and it will be released on October 20.

There is one small twist, however. Because Polarized has not yet been completed, the Life is Strange developers cannot promise that the last episode will be finished by October 20. If everything goes to plan, however, players will definitely be able to get their hands on the final chapter on the aforementioned release date.

Square Enix has made a little mention of the release date on a blog post, further explaining why the October 20 release date is not 100% set in stone.

"We don't normally announce a date until we know the game is 100% ready but in the spirit of Max's birthday (today) we wanted to let you know early that we are aiming to release Episode 5 ‘Polarized’ October 20."

"Many things can change in the lead up to release but the team are working really hard to try and hit this date. We know the wait may be a bit longer than some of you were hoping for but we want to ensure Episode 5 is the best it can be."

Square Enix went on further by discussing their excitement for the final chapter.

"We are super excited for you to play the finale and we hope you enjoy the ride! We couldn't have foreseen the great reaction Life is Strange has had so far, the community is fantastic and we love seeing/reading your reactions to each episode."

  • Bloodborne Expansion Details Revealed

    bloodborne expansion

The upcoming Bloodborne expansion that everybody has been talking about for so long has finally been unveiled and there's plenty of information about it to go along with the unveiling.

The unveiling took place at this year's Tokyo Game Show, where From Software announced the name of the expansion and what the expansion will include. From Software's Miyazaki also answered some questions about the expansion.

So, the new expansion has been named The Old Hunters, and it will be released this November for Bloodborne. The new expansion will feature three new areas, a bunch of new weapons and a new boss fight. Interestingly, one of the new weapons is the Bowblade, which will finally bring ranged combat into the world of Bloodborne.

You'll have to check out the trailer for The Old Hunters to see all of the other weapons which have been announced so far. None of the other weapons have had their names revealed yet, so it'll be exciting to learn more about them in the near future. One of the new bosses, Ludwig, is also seen in the trailer.

Players will also find that there will be more opportunities to use magic in The Old Hunters - this is certainly one area of combat that could have done with some love and From Software have delivered perfectly.

The Old Hunters will set players back $19.99 but unlike standard DLC packs, this one really will feel like a large expansion to the base Bloodborne game.
