Summer is now fully underway, and most gamers have sunk their teeth into whatever they can get their hands on. Here is a quick rundown of observations I have made of the current gaming world. E3 released lots of exciting news and at the forefront for me, is the battle between Modern Warfare 3 vs Battlefield 3, and exactly how cool is PS Vita going to be? As graphically appealing as Battlefield 3 looks, I still cant help but shake the feeling that what it boils down to is a preference in gameplay, and Call of Duty [...]

First day of E3
Posted on June 7, 2011 by Evil Nick
So there have been quite a few exciting things that have been released at E3 thus far. Nintendo hasa new console called the Wii U, they don't have the best track record with core gamers, but only time will tell if this console can live up to what we expect from our consoles.Sony has a sweet new portable that is called the PlayStation Vita, not the NGP.Yes, Vita is latin for the word life, which is exactly what the console will bring to them following all the drama of the PlayStation Network closing.By the way, there were no hackers at [...]

Call of Duty: Elite
Posted on June 1, 2011 by Evil Nick
So after watching the video The Legend of Karl: An introduction to Elite gaming, there are multiple questions that pop to the forefront of every gamers mind. Is the Elite feature going to be so sick, that it will make regular free online gameplay obsolete? Or is it just a nice little perk for the Call of Duty players who take their craft a tad bit more serious than most of us? Will this be the dawn of a new social networking platform that will propel Call of Duty to a level equivalent of professional sports? Okay that last bit [...]

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Posted on May 25, 2011 by Evil Nick
The most anticipated game of the year; Modern Warfare 3 is the sequel to the MW2, widely considered to be the best first person shooting game of this generation. In a sense, the first time I picked up a Ps3 controller last year to play MW2 (I know I am still new to the COD series), I originally hated the game. I found it so hard to adjust from Counter Strike and Halo games where your enemies were so easily visible and the guns were so straightforward. The beauty of the love for Call of Duty though, is that it [...]

Dirt 3 Vs Fear 3
Posted on May 25, 2011 by Evil Nick
Got that racing fever? Cant wait a few months for Forza 4 to come out? Go shred in Dirt 3, which was released today! Choose from 50 cars and over 100 courses, this is a game that all racing game lovers should pick up. With an emphasis on sick tricks and nasty conditions that you must traverse in stunning HD quality, Dirt 3 delivers on all cylinders. The biggest 2 biggest factors that really push this game into the upper echelon of best racing games ever created however, are the sound and the interaction with the environment. The reason I [...]

Double Points Weekend on Ps3
Posted on May 20, 2011 by Evil Nick
Well folks, its finally double points weekend again on Ps3 and for many of us, that means we will most likely be spending our last day on earth inside pwning noobs. Really with the impending rapture ahead of us this brings a whole new light to the phrase, Its not the end of the world! I really hope its not the end, I am still too young to die. However, after seeing what might have been the most absurd call of duty kill of all time last night from my friend Jon, I could at least rest easy. To describe [...]

Infamous 2
Posted on May 19, 2011 by Evil Nick
Due to be released June 9th, the highly anticipated sequel to Sucker Punch Productions Infamous is going to be a monster of a game. I mean the original was literally GTA but with electricity as your weapon, tons of helpless civilians to be slaughtered, and endless buildings to jump off of. An open world video game that combines elements of RPGs, shooting games, puzzles, and platforming; Infamous 2 is going to be jam packed with exciting things to do.
While it is a single player game, Infamous 2 is still a game where you can pass the controller around to your [...]

Mortal Kombat 9
Posted on May 18, 2011 by Evil Nick
When I was 5 years old one of the very first games I ever played was Mortal Kombat for Super Nintendo. I accredit it as being the game that started it all for me. Since that time, there have only been one or two versions of Mortal Kombat that I would consider its equal, but nothing that really did the original justice. This is primarily due to the fact that the games veered too far from the origins of its 2D ancestor, venturing into the land of 3D and an excess of unrecognizable characters. Now after [...]

Return of PlayStation Network
Posted on May 16, 2011 by Evil Nick
Yesterday I awoke to the sounds of my roommates cheers of joy and after groggily making my way into the living room, I immediately became excited- The PlayStation Network outage was over. For the next few hours what ensued was a Call of Duty: Black Ops frenzy- where my friends and I became completely consumed with the slaughtering of noobs. However, after a few hours each of us looked at one another and the consensus was clear, things were just not the same anymore.
After nearly a month of not playing Call of Duty, it seemed to have lost some [...]
