  • Cliffy B Goes Back Into Video Game Development

Cliffy B New GameA little while back Cliff Bleszinski announced plans to retire from video game development for good, but it seems he just couldn't keep away from the video game industry as he's already back at it with plans to make more video games again.

Despite his supposed video game retirement, it's been clear for a while that Cliffy B has been working on some kind of video game project, and it looks like he plans to reveal it to the world pretty soon.

On Bleszinski's twitter, he wrote, "I'm officially coming out of retirement to make video games again. Stay tuned here for details in the next 7 days!"

Whilst his previous work has been alongside AAA studios responsible for franchises like Gears of War and Unreal Tournament, it sounds likely that Cliffy B's next project will be something completely different.

Cliff Bleszinski has already revealed a few different concept art images for a game that he has codenamed Silverstreak, so perhaps we'll hear more about this title within the next 7 days like Cliff suggested on his Twitter account.

In or out of retirement, it's clear Cliffy B will not have any input on the next Gears of War title, which is largely where he made a name for himself. Do you think Bleszinski's next game make much of a splash? We'll have to see exactly what Cliffy B has up his sleeve before we give an answer on that one.

  • Battlefield 4 will have "Deepest Online Career Ever"

All of the hype that has gone towards Battlefield 4 has gone straight towards the online multiplayer portion of the game, and whilst there will be a story driven campaign as always, all eyes are on online.

DICE seem to understand that because they have put a lot of effort into making sure the Battlefield online multiplayer experience is better than any other previous game in the series. In fact, DICE are calling the online multiplayer on Battlefield their "deepest online career ever."

So, what gives DICE such a strong pride towards their online multiplayer on Battlefield 4? Apart from the all new customizable weapons system, weapon and vehicle camo's, and the brand new progression system, there is actually quite a lot to be proud of.

"While sharing similar basics with Battlefield 3, we are now offering a cleaner upgrade path, clearer Ribbon and Medal progression, and an increased focus on richly rewarding great team play."

On top of the ranking system which starts at 0 and ends at 100, there will also be new redesigned ribbon awards, making all of your actions in Battlefield 4 that much more worth it.

"We know our fans can spend literally hundreds of hours on the Battlefield. With Battlefield 4, we want to make sure players have goals to aspire to at the end game, while at the same time rewarding players at earlier ranks as well. Ribbons are the quick fixes, whether you're a veteran or a newcomer to the series."

"You typically can get one or more of these in a single round if you perform well. They can be awarded for anything from repairing vehicles, capturing flags, or reviving team mates. There are 45 unique Ribbons in the game, and you can earn each of them an infinite number of times."

The ribbon system was a good addition to the Battlefield online system because it added more goals to achieve within a game, and this is especially important for making those long game modes more enjoyable and more engaging.

  • How to Get Past the First Mission on GTA Online

If you're still stuck on the first mission on Grand Theft Auto Online, we've compiled a few tips that have reportedly helped other users get past the first mission. Despite talk of terrible servers and bad gameplay, it seems that as soon as you get past the first mission with Lamar, everything is very smooth.

Here are some tips to get past the first mission on GTA Online -

    Delete your Character

This isn't such a big problem at this stage because it's unlikely that you have any progress on your GTA Online character. To delete your GTA:O character, go into story mode, press the menu button and go to the Online tab. From here you will need to click on select character and you can then delete characters from both available slots.

    Delete the Title Update

To do this, you will need to access your game's data from either Xbox Home or the PS3 XMB, depending on what platform you're playing GTA on. On Xbox 360 it is called "Title Update" and should be called Game Data Utility on PS3.

Once you've deleted this, get back into the game to re-download the update and check if it makes any difference in game. Doing this in combination with deleting your character has supposedly helped some players to get past the first mission on GTA Online.

Wriggle your way through the First Mission on GTA Online

Even after both title updates, I still couldn't get through the game, however, I found a way to wriggle myself through, and it now works flawlessly. The method I used was on Xbox 360 and uses the recent player list. It may also work by joining a friend on PS3. This will require you to try the first mission on online before trying.

    1. Join the game from story mode
    2. Go into the Online tab from the menu
    3. Press Start a Solo session
    4. The game should hopefully load you into an online world of your own - you won't be able to do missions, or any of the cool stuff that requires other players. (If it asks about cloud servers being down, just ignore the messages and continue into the game.)
    5. Next, press the xbox dashboard button, and navigate to the recent players tab by opening your friends list.
    6. Find a recent player that is still playing GTA Online and has an open session - Press 'Join Session in Progress.'
    7. It should now join you with this player - you will be able to do a few things, but the full functionality of the game still doesn't work.
    8. To fix this, open your phone, click on quick jobs and join a random job.
    9. Once you've completed a job or a mission, open the character wheel and switch to a GTA V character.
    10. After this, switch back to your online character - it will then take you back to the first tutorial mission. However, this time it should load almost instantly.

Still not working - Wait it out

As much as it sucks to say this, if you still can't get past the first mission in GTA Online, your best bet is to wait it out until Rockstar iron out the bugs and server problems.

  • New Capcom Pack includes 5 Games for $60

It's always nice to be able to pick up a bunch of games after they've been put on sale for cheaper than like new prices, and unfortunately this is the only option for some people out there that like to play a large palette of games.

If you're kind of person that likes to buy game packs and aren't too bothered about when you play your games, you may be interested in a new Capcom pack that will be hitting shelves soon.

The game pack includes 5 different titles developed by Capcom and will be on shelves both digitally and in-store for $60.

The bundle includes Devil May Cry 4, Dead Rising 2, Super Street Fighter IV, Resident Evil 6 and Mega Man 10. Most of these games are few years old, but being able to buy them in a bundle will allow you to get all 5 games in brand new condition and save money on the cost of new separate versions of the games in an unused condition. Also a great way to extend the life of your custom Xbox 360 controllers.

Are you interested in these Capcom games or do you think Capcom should have released this bundle a little closer to the release of these titles?

  • New Ace Combat Infinity is a Free to Play title for PSN

Free-to-play has slowly dripped into the world of consoles and games like World of Tanks, Planetside 2 and Blacklight Retribution will be making their way there soon.

Console ports from the PC aren't the only free to play titles making it into the console scene either- Ace Combat Infinity is a new game in the flight action series that will be available to PSN users on the PlayStation 3 and will be free to play.

Capcom has released a second trailer for Ace Combat Infinity, highlighting the "wealth of free to play features," including a new story campaign and team co-op multiplayer that gets players of 8 split into two teams each with an objective to try and score more damage on the enemies than the other team.

The trailer is only a minute long cinematic, so it'd be nice to see some proper gameplay in the future.

Capcom also hasn't discussed what features will be available for free and what features players will have to pay for.

  • God of War:Ascension PlayStation Bundle Released

    God of War PS3 Bundle

If you haven't got your hands on God of War Ascension yet, then there may be a deal that could really appeal to you, especially if you're a fan of the series. Sony has teamed up with the devs behind the PlayStation exclusive to bring out a special limited edition PlayStation 3 with God of War skins on dual shock 3 controller included in the bundle.

Obviously, the bundle includes a copy of God of War itself, and in fact the bundle includes the special edition version of God of War Ascension.

The console model is a classic white super slim PS3 with a 500GB hard drive, and the controller has a design similar to the God of War Ascension boxset art. The bundle itself costs £249.99, and at the moment is only available in Europe, however translated to US dollars, it would set you back around $375 for the bundle, and also any additional shipping costs that may occur to get the bundle into the States and on your front door step.

If you didn't know already, the special edition of God of War Ascension includes a multiplayer double XP unlock, an exclusive PS3 dynamic theme, and a PlayStation 3 avatar, as well as the audio soundtrack, all packaged in a pretty impressive steelbook case.

There has also been news of a God of War bundle including a garnet red PS3 hitting shelves in the United States, however it seems unlikely that the controller will be included.

If you think the controller looks pretty cool, you should check out our Controller Creator and create a sick looking modded controller designed for you, and by you.

  • New Dishonored DLC Gets Release Date

    New Dishonored DLC

A new downloadable content pack for Dishonored has been announced, and its release date is slated for April 16th 2013.

The new DLC has been named the Knife of Dunwall and will be the second DLC pack for Dishonored, adding more content onto the base gameplay.

In the Knife of Dunwall, players will play as the fiends that made acquaintance with the protagonist earlier in the game in his quest for revenge. You'll play specifically as an assassin named Daud as he seeks forgiveness for his evil actions, taking the game to brand new locations, filled with new enemies, environments and objectives, as well as a whole host of new skills to use whilst playing as Daud.

I for one am looking forward to the new DLC and I'm happy that the developers have been creative by adding a new plotline with brand new scenery, enemies and skills, instead of just adding new missions to the main story.

The Knife of Dunwall will be available for around $10, or Xbox Live's equivalent in Microsoft Points on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

The PS3 release will make it a day later than the April 16th release for the PC and Xbox version, however it will still land without missing out on any features included in the PC and 360 versions.

  • Metal Gear Rising Revengeance DLC Now up for Free for 2 Weeks

    Metal Gear Rising Free DLC

We all know the devs behind the Metal Gear games have always had a strong relationship with Sony and PlayStation, and it's only been till recently that they've given up their exclusivity and offered the game on platforms other than the PlayStation.

However, a new move by Konami has shown that their bond with the PlayStation platform is strong, which sees Sony offering DLC for free for a limited period of time.

The recently released VR Missions pack adds 30 missions to the game, and although it had a pretty low price before in terms of downloadable content, it is now accessible for free from the PlayStation network till April 2nd.

The VR Missions pack is still only available as a purchase on Xbox Live, and will cost Xbox players 240 Microsoft Points.

It's still cheap, but it makes you wonder what is going on behind the scenes with Sony and Konami.

Two other DLC packs will also be added this April, with information straight from Konami telling us that one DLC pack will focus on Sam, whilst the other will focus on the Blade Wolf character.

"The first DLC pack, Jetstream, will be a side story featuring Sam as a playable character. The second pack, Blade Wolf, will allow players to control the enigmatic Blade Wolf and will showcase his side story. Both DLC packs will feature multiple hours of gameplay including unique abilities and characteristics for each character, while also expanding on each of their storylines and origins."

Do you think console exclusives should still be released? Or do you think developers should work on bringing their games to as many platforms as possible?

While trying to figure out your position on platform exclusivity, check out our modded ps3 controllers in our Controller Creator.

  • Kojima Talks about Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes

Metal Gear 5 Will Be More open-world

According to Kojimi, Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes will be revealed at GDC, giving us all more information on the game.

Although GDC is now less than two weeks away, those impatient can still find out a bit of information on the new Metal Gear Solid from an interview with Kojima from PlayStation.

The first thing that really interested me was that Kojima hopes for Ground Zeroes to be an immersive open world experience, and in fact, all his previous games he had hoped to create an open world environment, but due to the limit in hardware capabilities in the PlayStation 1, he has stuck to a leveled environment instead.

It looks like Ground Zeroes may be different though, and Kojima has in his interview, "As far as stealth is concerned, you don't normally just start in a building. If you look at spy and action movies, how the hero gets to that point is a very important part of the story and part of the action. Do they get there by plane or by some sort of disguise? There are many ways you can approach that element of infiltration."

"My ultimate goal is to give players even more freedom," he explains, "not only to figure out how they're going to get there but really have everything factor into it. So, do you want to get there by helicopter, or do you want to get there by plane, are you going to ride in a vehicle, or are you going to take a bike? Basically have all of these options available to the player."

By opening multiple possible routes of action into the missions in Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes, you're immediately giving the player more freedom, which for me will make or break a stealth game.

I'm really excited to see how 'open-world' the new Metal Gear Solid will be, but either way, I know it's going to be a great game.

Currently, release details are not known, so it'll be interesting to see which consoles the game releases on.
