There has been a lot of talk about a Mass Effect game past Mass Effect 3, and although it has recently been confirmed, what the game will consist of is currently unknown. According to what we know so far, the next game will take place in the Mass Effect universe, however the game won't be similar to the previous trilogy in any way.
That means no Shepard, possibly no Reapers, and most likely no squad based third person combat. Chris Priestly, community coordinate for Bioware says that calling the next game Mass Effect 4 would be a disservice to the previous trilogy, and that Commander Shepard's story is definitely over.
"Thinking of the next Mass Effect game as Mass Effect 4 would imply a certain linearity, a straight evolution of the gameplay and story of the first three games."
"That doesn't mean that events of the first three games and the choices you made won't get recognized, but they likely won't be what this new story will focus on, The Mass Effect universe is so rich that we are not limited to a single track when coming up with a new story."
It'll be interesting to see what Bioware do next with their huge universe, and even if the game completely moves away from the game mechanics in the current game, I believe Bioware can do a great job with any game genre based in the Mass Effect world.

Randy Pitchford, current president of the devs behind Borderlands 2 has taken to twitter to discuss a new interview with VentureBeat after fans worried the CEO about a huge amount of angry talk within the official Borderlands 2 forums.
When VentureBeat didn't mention once about a Borderlands 2 level cap increase after discussing new and upcoming content with Randy on the interview, players were quick to jump to the conclusion that the game would not include a level cap raise at all.
One player tweeted out to Randy saying "Are you still doing a level cap raise for BL2? The GBX forums are experiencing a ****storm from that VentureBeat interview." Randy replied to the tweet with the following: "Can you please tell them to calm the **** down. Take-away- it's hard and expensive, but we're commited."
Unfortunately this tweet didn't help to disperse the situation, but instead caused more rage as fans were worried the lack of a full 'yes' in the last tweet meant a level cap raise was unlikely.
However, Randy followed his last tweet with a 100% confirmation on a level cap raise to help calm down the agitated fans. "I'll say: 100% chance of a level cap increase this year, but 50\50 on unforeseen consequences that some people will rage about."
The level cap is happening, but it may take a little while before Gearbox polish it out enough for full release.
Are you looking forward to a level cap raise in Borderlands 2?
New York Giant's receiver Victor Cruz has had an interview with GamerHub where he has discussed his most favorite and least favorite memories of the Madden series, as well as discussing what he'd like to see in the next game, Madden 25.
Victor started the interview with his favorite memories, focusing on the rage moments. "A lot of them aren't positive, but the ones I remember are me getting frustrated with my remote and slamming them down a couple times, so there are not really positive but there are some good ones where I'm 21-0 with my friends, and I'm up by a huge score, so there's pros and cons to it."
When asked about the realism of Madden, Victor said he thought it was 'very realistic' and he remembers playing Madden 2000 and all of the games since then, and he seemed pretty impressed about the amount of realism Madden has managed to grab hold of since then.
Victor was asked about what he'd like to see in the next Madden game and he replied "Just another Salsa man, they gotta get in there and put those balls on me, and get a better salsa down on my character."
The next Madden game, Madden 25, is expected to release on August 27th, so keep your eyes peeled here till then for more information about the game.

If you want to play a part in making the name of Dark Souls 2, then you'll need to check their community poll that was created on Namco Bandai Games on February 7th. Just like the first Dark Souls, players will be able to choose between five different names to make the tagline for the second game. Choices are Go Beyond Death, Into The Beyond, Sacrifice Everything, Survive Death and Transcend Death.
Currently Transcend Death seems to be in the lead, and it has been for a couple days now, however if you don't like this name, you can vote for one of the others before the poll closes, or if you do like it, you can vote for Transcend Death to give it even more support.
It's amazing that video game developers are now giving their playerbase more control over how the game plays, and now even what the game is called. Dark Souls 2 is being developed by From Software, and published by Namco Bandai Games. The action role playing game will be retailed for PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles either in late 2013 or possibly early 2014. The game can be pre-ordered right now though for $59.99. Currently there is no information on limited or special editions, and only the standard edition is available to preorder. This may change closer to the reveal date.

There has been a lot of hype leading up to the next Metal Gear Solid game, and although we know the new game will make it on to retail later this month, we haven't really had much information on the available editions of the game.
However, things have changed, as Gamestop have uploaded the Metal Gear Rising Revengeance limited edition up for preorder on their website, and MetalgearsolidTV has uploaded a bunch of stunning images to go along with it.
The limited edition includes a beautiful artbook from Kojima himself, including 24 pages of amazing artwork from the game.
If the Limited Edition doesn't satisfy you enough, there are a couple limited Japan edition premium packages that you may be able to get your hands on if you're really lucky, and know how to ship over from Japan before the Japanese fans get their hands on it before you.
The first premium package includes the MGRR game, soundtrack cd with special steel book, Yoji Shinkawa art book, 2 built-in magnet Dwarf Gekko figurines, Cyborg Ninja and White Armor Raiden downloadable skins. Price 9,980 yen or $121.
The next premium package is a special limited Konami style pack which includes everything in the standard premium plus a "White Armor" Metal Gear Rising Revengeance Play Arts Kai figure. Price 12,980 yen or $160.
Surprisingly the first premium package is cheaper than the US limited edition, however, if you don't live in Japan, you may have to pay a pretty penny to get hold of one.
MGRR is available on February 19th, with the limited edition costing $149.99.
The game has barely been out, yet players have already found an exploit to get themselves unlimited resources without having to pay a dime for micro-transactions, and strangely enough, according to EA, this exploit was added 'on purpose.'
Near the end of chapter 8, players can visit a shack with a power generator. From here players can pick up a randomly spawned item. But if players leave the shack after picking up the spawned item, players can go straight back there and pick up a brand new randomly spawned item within seconds of picking up the last one.
This 'bug,' or exploit, allows players to gather all the resources they need, completely destroying the 'need' for the harshly criticized micro-transactions. EA seem to be fine with players using this exploit, and say they don't plan on creating a fix for it.
"The resource-earning mechanic in Dead Space 3 is not a glitch," an EA spokesperson told Gaming Blend. "We have no plans to issue a patch to change this aspect of the game. We encourage players to explore the game and discover the areas where resources respawn for free. We've deliberately designed Dead Space 3 to allow players to harvest resources by playing through the game. For those that wish to accumulate upgrades instantly, we have enabled an optional system for them to buy the resources at a minimal cost ($1-$3)."
What EA haven't considered is that this 'non-glitch' allows us to accumulate upgrades instantly without needing to buy the resources at a 'minimal cost.'
It's nice that there is an alternative to spending real life cash, however if you're as much as a fan of the series as me, then you'll leave exploits and purchasable resources alone. Progressing through the game legitimately makes it a much harder challenge, keeping the thrills of the game alive.

eSports has started to boom in the last few years of gaming, and this year Call Of Duty Elite and Xbox are teaming up to bring one of the first COD $1 million cash prize tournaments. Eight winning teams from the ESL's European Finals taking place in March as well will be allowed entry into the Xbox COD tournament as well.

Madden has been one of the most well received sports franchises of them all, and after 25 years of solid gaming, the sports series has finally hit the 99 million mark. FIFA managed to hit this title in 2010, so Madden still has competition, however, for Football fans this is a great milestone in gaming history.
The 99 million sales have also brought in over $3.7 billion total life net revenue. If that's not enough to celebrate though, this year marks Madden's 25th year, and EA Sports will be releasing the next Madden title as Madden 25, instead of Madden NFL 14.
Madden 25 will hit the PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms on August 27 later this year, and although so far game details have been kept to a minimum, EA Sports has said that this year's Madden will 'push the boundaries' and set the foundation for another solid 25 years of football gaming.
Hopefully we'll see these 'boundary-pushing' features come to life in the new game, and if you're a sports fan let's hope that EA release more info soon to give you something to get excited about.
