XBOX 360

  • We Might Just Be Able to Play Xbox 360 Games on the Xbox One in the Future

New XBOX ONEBeing able to play the last generation of games on a brand new console may seem like a bit of a gimmick at first, but it is an incredibly useful feature that could help many gamers that are on a budget.

Being able to trade in your Xbox 360 console to help cut down on the costs of the Xbox One is a great option to have, but after building up years worth of games, it may not be that easy for many gamers to give that all up. This is why Xbox 360 emulation on an Xbox One would be immensely handy. In fact, while they're at it, if Microsoft could make the Xbox One support original Xbox games as well, that'd be incredibly useful.

Whilst Microsoft never revealed any plans to have such a feature on the Xbox One, recently Frank Savage, partner development lead at Xbox, revealed that it's not entirely out of the question. When asked whether there were plans to bring an Xbox 360 emulation system to the Xbox One, Frank replied with "There are, but we're not done thinking them through yet, unfortunately. It turns out to be hard to emulate the PowerPC stuff on the X86 stuff. So there's nothing to announce, but I would love to see it myself."

I'm sure if Sony were to offer an Emulation system on the PS4, Microsoft would feel obliged to follow through with a similar system, and vice versa. But until one player moves, no one is going anywhere with the whole emulation thing. Let's hope that Microsoft try to put more work into it, because I'd love to see it happen.

  • Titanfall Xbox 360 Version Will Offer Players 'the True Experience'

titanfall xbox 360Whilst Titanfall has already been out for a while on both PC and Xbox One, Respawn Entertainment did originally plan for the title to have an Xbox 360 version released on the same date, too.

However, delays in the development for the last gen port meant that the original release date had to be pushed back for the Xbox 360 version of Titanfall, but it's finally almost time for the game to release, and despite previous concerns, it's looking like it may run fairly smoothly on the old machine.

Whilst development for the Xbox 360 version of Titanfall was handed down to Bluepoint Games, things should not be very different to the PC or Xbox One versions. Senior producer of the Titanfall 360 port, Daryl Allison, stated that despite the Xbox 360 being inferior in terms of hardware capability, the Xbox 360 version of Titanfall won't have any limitations.

"Titanfall on the Xbox 360 is the true experience: all the maps, modes, pilots, titans, weapons, burn cards, you name it, found in the Xbox One and PC versions. The game looks great, sounds great, and above all it plays great. There are of course some differences that are due to the technical limitations of the hardware - for example, the game runs above 30fps - but the experts at Respawn worked with us to ensure that all the intense, 6v6 wall-running, titan-dropping action is there."
This is exciting news to hear, and it looks like Xbox 360 players will be able to play the true Titanfall experience when the Xbox 360 port is released later this month.

  • New DLC May Make Alucard Playable in Castlevania 2

Lord of Shadows 2 DLC][Lord of Shadows 2 DLC

The new Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 video game has been fairly enjoyable, and I've actually been surprised at how much I've enjoyed playing through the game revival. However, unlike it's older predecessors, Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 lives in an age filled with DLC and extra content, so to get the most fun out of the experience, we'll have to wait for Konami to release their planned DLC packs.

According to a forum member on CS.RIN.RU by the name of UbiSergei, the first Lords of Shadow 2 DLC pack will be called Revelations, and it may allow players to play as Alucard. The story of the DLC will let players discover a new plotline and understand "the true extent of Alucard's involvement."

Alucard has been in the Castlevania series since Castlevania 3, so it'll be interesting to see how big fans will react to being able to play as the character. In Lords of Shadow 2, Alucard's father, Dracula, plays a pretty large role in the plotline, so it'll be interesting to see where the Revelations DLC may take us.

For those more interested in the gameplay content instead of the story, the Revelations DLC is expected to come filled with "rich new environments and challenging puzzles" as well as various different creatures for Alucard to fight.

As this information is all unofficial at this point, it's best to take it all with a little grain of salt until we hear something more official from the game's creators.

  • New UK Cinema Spot Released for Dark Souls 2 - Yes, it Looks Epic

    dark souls 2 spot

If you can excuse the strange choice of music, I have something very exciting to show you. It's a brand new trailer headed for UK cinemas, and it shows some pretty intense footage of Darks Souls 2 in action.

The trailer focuses on an iron-clad hero as he battles through numerous enemies, takes down a dragon, and goes through various forms of terrain. I know that the trailer doesn't really represent actual gameplay footage, but it still looks absolutely awesome.

I was very interested in the first Dark Souls game but have yet to play it unfortunately, but I have heard many great things from the game, so this looks like a very nice treat, especially for anybody that has played the first game.

The trailer seemed to be directly advertising the Black Armor Edition and the Collector's Edition of the game, and showed both copies with their exclusive goodies at the end of the trailer. The Black Armor Edition comes with the game, the title's soundtrack, as well as early access to the Black Armors weapon pack, which comes with five new weapons.

The Collector's Edition also comes with the same exclusives, however it also comes packed with a 12" Warrior Knight figure, a Collectible art book, and a map of the game's world.

Dark Souls 2 has been confirmed to be released this March, with March 11th, March 13th and March 14th playing key dates for different regions.

  • Arkham Origins has Bugs, but Warner Bros. Won't Fix Them

    Arkham Origins Bugs

Unfortunately, Batman: Arkham Origins hasn't been released without some issues, and a lot of players have made remarks about bugs and glitches currently in the game. It seems quite a common occurrence these days to have a game released by a triple A development team that is filled with bugs, glitches and errors that really shouldn't be in the game at all.

It's ridiculously frustrating for the average gamer, and it makes us feel a bit used, really. It feels as if developers and publishers are simply using our love for games as a way to get to our wallets, and this story will just make us all even angrier.

What's really terrible about the bugs in Batman: Arkham Origins is that Warner Bros. know exactly what bugs are in the game, thanks to the dozens of reports spread across the internet, but despite this, they seem reluctant to do anything about them.

And the reason why Warner Bros. isn't in a hurry to fix the bugs in Arkham Origins is because they are focusing on something else instead - DLC.

Yes, that's right, Warner Bros. doesn't want to fix the bugs and glitches in the game right now because they'd rather work on bringing in more content to the game that players can purchase.

The community managers exact words are as follows - "The team is currently working hard on the upcoming story DLC and there currently are no plans for releasing another patch to address the issues that have been reported on the forums."

If you aren't having any issues or are happy to play through the problems, the new upcoming DLC is expected to be a single player add-on that will bring Batman up against Mr Freeze.

  • Minecraft PS3 Set for Release this week

Minecraft PS3 ReleaseDespite being out on the Xbox 360 since last year, no other ports have reached the market, apart for the pocket edition version for Android and iOS devices. However, that is about to change as it has been confirmed that 4J Studios, the team behind the console ports, has finally finished with the PS3 version and it is planned for a release this week.

On Tuesday, 17th December, Minecraft for PlayStation 3 will be available as a digital download on the PlayStation store. The Minecraft Xbox 360 version is available for around $20, so it's likely the price of the PlayStation 3 version will be similar, however we won't be able to find out until it's release day tomorrow.

Although it has taken 4J Studios a long time to port the Xbox version over to the PS3, the PlayStation version won't be missing out on any game content, and will include all of the features in the latest patch on the Xbox 360 version.

The PS3 game will come with no extra skins or texture pack DLCs, but these will be added later on in 2014.

The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 ports were also planned for a late 2013 release, however they have since been delayed and will now only make it to consoles some time in 2014, along with the extra PS3 DLC content.

4J Studios also have plans for improving upon the current gameplay experience for the console port, however they won’t be working on new updates for the consoles until all console versions are out, so TU14 for Xbox 360 has since been delayed.

  • Sleeping Dogs Developers Release Sneak Peek Triad Wars Screenshot

    Sleeping Dogs Triad Wars

Sleeping Dogs was one open world action game that really caught a lot of our attention, and since then a lot of us have been wondering what has been going in the United Front Games studio after development finished for the title.

Whilst rumors have been laid on the table about a direct sequel to the first game, there has been no official information on whether that is true or not - except for now that is.

This week, a United Front Games developer revealed an image on Twitter that showed a small glimpse at what they have been working on since going quiet after Sleeping Dogs was released. It was later confirmed that the game was Triad Wars, which has been said to be a sequel for the first Sleeping Dogs game.

In the screenshot, we can see that the game looks to be a 3rd person game, so it's likely at this point that it is indeed the next lineup in the Sleeping Dogs series.

So far, details on the game have been pretty minimal, and in fact at this point there is almost no information on the game at all. We can guess by the title and the screenshot that the game will most likely involve some sort of gang war - perhaps a three-way gang war, or a war of gangs that have three members in each gang.. We really aren't sure just yet, but we'll keep you updated on this as always.

  • Xbox Games with Gold Going to be Permanent

The fairly recent loyalty program, Xbox Games with Gold, has been confirmed by Microsoft as a permanent feature that will continue on past the Xbox One's launch. Before this confirmation, it was discussed by Microsoft that the promotion would only stay till the end of the year, but it looks as if somebody has managed to convince the big M to keep us a little bit happier with our monthly Xbox Gold subscriptions.

The Xbox Games with Gold loyalty promotion offers two free games each month to everybody who has an Xbox Live Gold account. It started out with little mention from Microsoft when Fable III mysteriously appeared on the Xbox marketplace for free, but it was later revealed that the game was part of the ongoing Games with Gold loyalty service.

Since then, Xbox Live Gold members have been treated with a bunch of fairly outdated games over the last few months, including games like Halo 3, Assassins' Creed II, Dead Rising 2, Crackdown and Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes.

Currently Halo 3 is available till October 31st as a free title, and after this date Microsoft will introduce another game that will be available on the Xbox Games Store for half a month.

Once a game has been up for half a month it will then be available for purchase again through the Xbox Games Store.

However, Xbox Live Gold players can "buy" the free title and then play or download it whenever they feel necessary, even after the promotion runs out or their account reverts to a free account.

  • GTA V Now Available Digitally on Xbox LIVE

After Grand Theft Auto V's amazingly successful launch, Microsoft have finally made a digital version of the game available for download on the Xbox Game's Store.

Like many of the full games available on the Xbox Games Store, the digital version of Grand Theft Auto V will go for $59.99 in the United States, and possibly around £50 in the UK. You will also need a total of 7.63GB free space to download the game onto your hard drive.

Whilst Microsoft have only just stepped up and released a digital copy of the game on their console's game marketplace, it has been available on the PlayStation Network since the game's launch.

Many players have complained that the PlayStation 3 digital version has had problems with textures popping in and out, texture clipping issues, and other strange and unexplainable glitches such as parts of the game spawning late or not spawning at all.

According to reports from officials, this is due to the hard drive not being able to stream data at the speed the game requires to run smoothly.

This is the same issue why Rockstar have warned players not to install the "play" disc onto their Xbox 360. Because of the problems that the digital version has had on the PS3, it wouldn't be surprising if similar problems occur on the digital Xbox 360 version as well.

We'd advise just popping out and buying the physical version to avoid problems and save a few pennies at the same time.
