  • Goat Simulator is Coming to Xbox

goat simulator xboxI've got the exact news you've been wanting to hear. Coffee Stain Studios have announced that Goat Simulator will be coming to the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One. Worthy of more than a few game of the year awards, Goat Simulator is an incredibly realistic simulation game that gives you an unprecedented view into the life of a goat.

There are just no other animal sims out there that quite match the prowess of Goat Simulator, and Microsoft made a very good choice allowing Coffee Stain Studios to bring it to the Xbox One and the Xbox 360.

If you've seen the game, you'll of course no everything above is just a little far from the truth. Goat Simulator is actually a strangely put together sandbox game that gives you access to a world of physics based environments. The whole fun of Goat Simulator is to basically see what kind of crazy things you can make happen with a goat and a world of objects that react crazily when hit into.

The game is filled with all sorts of glitches, but Coffee Stain wanted it to be this way - the game is meant to be taken lightly, and is just a bit of fun to have when you have a few minutes to spare.

So far, we don't have any details about the exact release date of Goat Simulator or the price, but we do know that the game will be releasing at some point in April.

  • "No One is Gonna be Disappointed" with Forza 6, Coming this Holiday Season

forza 6 release"No one is gonna be disappointed" is the exact words you’d expect to hear from a marketing manager, and it's exactly what XBOX EMEA social marketing manager Graeme Boyd said in a recent podcast over at Rectify Gaming in reference to Forza Motorsport 6. However, I think we do have enough reason to believe him.

Whist Boyd wasn't kind enough to give up a release date for Forza 6, he did mention that "There will be lots of Forza news to come, and Turn 10 in particular is good at communicating with the community when they have stuff to talk about."

Hopefully this means that leading up to the release of Forza 6, we'll see a lot of great content, including gameplay reveals, juicy high-res screenshots and more for us to feast our eyes upon. Even though Boyd did not mention a planned release date, in another podcast, Aaron Greenberg did list Forza among a variety of games that will be making it's way to the Xbox One this holiday season.

It's certainly true that Xbox has a great lineup planned this year, and I absolutely cannot wait for some of the game expos, such as E3 to kick off so that we can get a great first hands look into what is to come from Xbox, and in particular, Xbox One this year.

Forza Motorsport 5 was great. but I think Forza 6 will be better by a wide margin. Turn 10 have had a lot of spare time to work on the title since the launch of the Xbox One.

  • The Order 1866 Should Last You Close to Six Hours

The Order 1866Despite not actually being out yet, some players have already completed The Order 1866, and a selection of those that have completed the game have shared their experiences online. One player, who posted his entire playthrough online, managed to complete The Order 1866 in around five hours and a half.

The 5 hour playthrough followed the player as he completed the main story, whilst neglecting a lot of side missions and extra playable content. Going from this information, we can make a pretty accurate estimate that if you pick up The Order 1866, it's going to take you at least five and a half hours to complete, and that's if you skip everything you possibly can. It's also important to understand that the gamer in question managed to get through without dying a single time.

Despite only lasting five and a half hours, the player described that the story-driven singleplayer in The Order: 1866 felt like it lasted a lot longer. This could partially be down to the fact that the story in The Order: 1866 is expected to be a lot more engaging than the typical game.

Other players have reported that their experience of The Order 1866 has lasted a lot longer, with the typical completion time sitting between seven and nine hours. In fact, the first player to pick up the platinum trophy from The Order 1866 took around nine hours on his first playthrough.

With recent rumors of The Order 1866 only lasting 3 hours, it's great to see that the game actually has a lot more content in it, and I'd be happy to spend seven or eight hours completing the game in my own pace.

  • February Games with Gold Deals Announced

Games with Gold DealsIt's February already, and that means it's time for yet another lineup for the Games with Gold promotion. This month, we have three new games available for free, two of which are available right now. The third game is an Xbox 360 title and will be available half way through the month, and will swap out with the other Xbox 360 game currently available.

The first game for the start of the month is an arcade title for Xbox 360, named Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. This game features pretty story driven puzzle platformer experience, and whilst it is just an arcade game, it certainly offers a very thorough experience for players.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons usually goes for $14.99, and it will be free for Gold members till February 15th.

A day after, Sniper Elite V2, which usually retails for $29.99 will then be put up for free for Xbox 360 Gold players. In Sniper Elite V2, players are encouraged to use stealth and tactics to take out enemies, instead of a face first, guns blazing approach that many shooters tout today.

Sniper Elite V2 is also a third person title, so it should definitely offer a new experience to those used to playing Battlefield or Call of Duty.

Finally, Xbox One players will be able to treat themselves to a free game all the way through the entirety of February as part of the Games with Gold deal.

The free Xbox One game is called #IDARB, and usually retails for $14.99. #IDARB is a 8-bit pixel themed jumping jetpack arcade game for up to eight players.

  • Advanced Warfare Havoc DLC Finally Arrives on Xbox

advanced warfare havocThe first DLC pack for Call of Duty Advanced Warfare has finally arrived on the Xbox, and it can now be picked up for both the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 as part of an early access deal. The Havoc DLC will also be released for the PC and the PlayStation consoles at some point in February.

The new Havoc DLC pack comes with a wide range of new content, including four brand new maps, and the anticipated exo zombies survival co-op mode.

The four maps included in the Havoc DLC are Sideshow, Core, Urban and Drift. Sideshow is a shanty town built within a cargo ship. Core is within a large drilling station, and Drift is a small sized snow town. Finally, Urban is a packed city area.

Before the Havoc DLC was officially released, two new weapons were also put out as part of the Havoc DLC pack. Season pass players were able to take hold of the weapons in the Havoc DLC earlier in the year. The weapons included a new laser AE4 Widowmaker rifle, and a direct variation of the same weapon.

The most looked forward to feature in the Havoc DLC is the exo zombies co-op mode though, and similarly to Black Ops 2, the mode will have a set amount of missions players will be able to play through. It has been rumored that more exo zombies content will be released incrementally in each DLC after the Havoc DLC.

  • New Master Chief Collection Patch Releasing Soon

Master Chief Collection PatchA new patch was planned to roll out for the Master Chief Collection last week but it has since been delayed. The patch had been mentioned to include some fixes to matchmaking whilst adding some general tweaks to multiplayer, campaigns and interfaces.

Whilst 343 Industries failed to mention why the patch was delayed, they have since confirmed that the release of the patch has been pushed back till later this January. According to 343, the patch should be up and ready to install within the "next few days."

It's a shame that after all this time, the Master chief Collection is still not working 100% as planned, but 343 are still working on it.

The patch notes for the upcoming patch rolling out later this week can be read below.

    Matchmaking:
    Improved matchmaking search success rates.
Made an update to reduce instances of "Awaiting Privileges" matchmaking errors.
Made an update to ensure player counts more reliably match the expected numbers for each playlist.
Fixed an issue where player would sometimes appear to be searching in an incorrect "FIND GAME" screen.
Added countdown sound effect to the voting timer

    General multiplayer:
Made several improvements to party joining through the in-game Roster.
Made an update to ensure that the mute icon is visible while in Matchmaking.
Fixed an issue in Halo 4 where players could equip the same weapon as their primary and secondary weapons.

  • Halo Spartan Ops Added to MCC

halo spartan ops mccWhilst we all rightly presumed that the Master Chief Collection was going to be released with all of the content from previous games at launch, 343 Industries has been very far behind with development, due to server issues and other problems with the new Halo 2 anniversary multiplayer.

As a result, many in-game features and content of the Master Chief Collection has been unavailable since launch, including the Spartan Ops missions that were released as part of Halo 4.

The Spartan Ops missions were a set of in-game objectives that followed a set story and played out like the firefight game type in both Halo: Reach and Halo 3: ODST did. Unlike firefight, Spartan Ops were specially designed to delve into the story that took place whilst the Master Chief was floating about in space, and many players have complained that they are an incredibly important part of Halo 4.

Fortunately enough, 343 Industries have just launched Spartan Ops for the Master Chief Collection in a new patch, and it contains all of the episodes from Halo 4 right at launch - this is a total of 10 co-op based episodes that can now be accessed from the Halo 4 section of the Master Chief Collection.

If you didn't play through the Spartan Ops episodes on the Xbox 360 due to 343's strange release schedule for them, then you should definitely give them a go now that they are on the Xbox One, especially if you are a fan of the Halo universe and it's story.

  • Killer Instinct 1 Gets Online Multiplayer

killer instinct 1 onlineRecently, Microsoft pushed out an Xbox One port of Killer Instinct 1 as part of the new season for the latest Killer Instinct game on the console, and now they are putting a little bit of love into it to pay homage to all those that played the original Killer Instinct on the Super Nintendo.

In a new patch, that has recently gone live, Killer Instinct 1 now has online multiplayer capabilities, and players can jump in game to play against other players from across the world. As well as the new online features, Microsoft added a few new changes to Killer Instinct 1, all of which can be read in the patch notes below.

    - We updated the front page of Ultra-combo.com. If you scroll down to the Season 1 Changelist, you can now see an image of the Story Mode Mural!
    - Riptor's correct Ultra Music is not playing because of a bug. We're trying to fix that via patch before the next Content Update.
    - When you unlock a Story Mode XP bonus, that XP is Player XP only (not Character XP also).
    - There is a known issue with Story Mode XP sometimes unlocking, but not depositing. We're investigating a fix for that as well.

These new changes to Killer Instinct 1 come hand in hand with the recent announcement of the reintroduction of Riptor to the latest Killer Instinct game in season 2. Riptor is a part human part velociraptor, who made his first appearance in Killer Instinct 1.

  • Rumors Stir Around New Rare AAA Game

It's always exciting to hear what Microsoft's best development studio, Rare is up to these days. They have made classics like Banjo Kazooie and Viva Pinata, and have also thrown out dozens of other playful games suitable for the whole family.

Rare's most recent attempts have been within the world of Kinect, and they have released a various of sports and other active games compatible with the Kinect for the Xbox 360. Unfortunately, most gamers weren't really interested in Rare when all of their effort went into these kind of games, but in a new light, Microsoft has realized that Rare deserves to be doing something a bit more exciting with their time.

Que dozens of rumors now spreading the internet because of a small job listing Rare has posted on their website following the development shift for the studio. On the job listing, it states that Rare are looking for an animator that has "high quality animation skills that include movement in bipedal animation, quadruped and facial animation."

The two things here that have sparked a lot of talk are the words "bipedal and quadruped." Whilst animation for a two legged character is fairly normal, "quadruped" suggests that Rare may be planning to create a big bunch of four legged characters in their next upcoming AAA game.

Honestly, it could be anything, but it sounds as if Rare are looking for animators to create animals. Does this mean we will see another Viva Pinata game? Or maybe a brand new Banjo Kazooie? It is hard to say, but it's possible it could be either of these or something entirely different.
