I think a lot of us purchased the original Crackdown just to get access to the Halo 3 beta, but despite this, I, along with many others, found the game to be very enjoyable. Crackdown 2 was not as well received as the first title was, but Microsoft may be able to redeem themselves, as they have just revealed plans to release Crackdown 3 for the Xbox One.
At E3, Microsoft shared a reveal trailer for Crackdown 3, and it manages to perfectly capture the environments and experiences that the original Crackdown game was best known for. Dave Jones, the original creator for the Crackdown series will be at the head of the latest iteration in the franchise, so hopefully he'll be able to create an experience that will be enjoyable as the first game.
Despite being the third game in the franchise, Crackdown 3 has simply been named "Crackdown." So far, no details have been given for the release date of the latest Crackdown game, so it's likely the title will have a 2015 release at the earliest. This E3 was a pretty decent one for Microsoft, and it won't be long before the Xbox One has a wide library of games to choose from. Let's just hope Crackdown has decent enough gameplay to make it a title worth owning. I personally have hopes for the new title, but we'll have to wait and see what Microsoft have in store for us.
