  • Official Red Xbox One Controller Coming

red-xbox-one-controllerIn an interesting move to stand out from the crowd, Xbox has announced a bright and colorful red Xbox One controller.

The new all-red controller is expected to hit the online Xbox store from January 11. By all-red, we really mean it by the way. Everything from the accents on the buttons to the chassis and bumper buttons is red. The only hint of non-red is seen on the Xbox symbol, which remains white.

The new controller will be on sale for $64.99, and GameStop will also stock it, both online and in-store.

This isn't the first time Xbox has attempted to offer their customers new personalization options. In the past, they released the Xbox Design Lab, which allowed players to pick out their own colors for each part of an Xbox One controller.

Despite the selection of colors, the Xbox One Design Lab still can't trump our own Custom Controller Creator - we add a greater range of colors for selection, and also have a variety of decals and fancier graphics available for the main chassis. And let's not get started on the variety of features and mods that can make our controllers even more elite than the Elite controller itself.

We like where you're going Xbox, but you've still got a lot of catching up to do in the custom controller game.

Why not take a look at our custom controller creator to see how it compares to the Xbox Design lab? We'll be surprised if you disagree.

  • Microsoft's Xbox One Elite Controller Announcement

Screen_Shot_2015-06-15_at_12.56.43_PM.0Microsoft just announced their latest controller changes. They are introducing a brand new controller design that includes paddles, remappable buttons, swappable components, and trigger locks. All of these new enhancements are scheduled for release this Fall. Microsoft is gearing its new design towards the "elite gamers" and tournament level players. The paddles and remappable buttons should impact the competitive gaming scene dramatically.

It is unknown at the time if Sony will return with their own new controller design but we speculate that they will have to answer to Microsoft's controller. Sony already has remappable buttons but will they also add the paddles and trigger stops? We will have to wait and see how they decide to answer. If they want to stay ahead they will have to keep the competitive gamer in mind.

The new Xbox One controller design has the hardcore gamer in mind and will definitely be a hit. The price hasn't been discussed yet but with all the additional components it can easily break the $100 price point. • Our Old Halo 2 Mod

halo 2 modIt’s time for a bit of a throwback. The Halo Master Chief Collection has just launched, and it’s flooded our brains with nostalgic memories of the hundreds of hours we spent on Halo games in the past.

In particular, Halo 2 is getting the most attention, and playing the new Halo 2 anniversary has reminded us of one of our best mods of all time.

Our old Halo 2 mod allowed players to fire two bursts of the battle rifle in the span of a second, and it had absolutely devastating effects. The combo could be achieved without a controller mod, and was often used by professional gamers involved in the MLG circuit.

With a controller mod however, the difficult to execute combo could be achieved effortlessly, and as you can see in the example video shown here, the double fire or BXRR mod could really kick some Spartan butt.

These kind of cool combos were key to being at the height of your game in Halo 2, and we expect to see a lot of these returning in Halo: MCC.

  • You Can Dress as a Zombie in Advanced Warfare

zombie in advanced warfareIf you have been keeping an eye on Advanced Warfare, you are probably already aware that the game comes with a brand new zombies mode that offers players the ability to fight against waves after waves of the living dead.

However, for the first time ever, players will (sort of) be able to play as a zombie by playing Advanced Warfare. Similar to the clothing system in Call of Duty Ghosts, players will be able to unlock cosmetic gear by completing certain goals.

If you manage to do well in the new zombie mode, you may stand a chance of unlocking zombie cosmetic gear to wear in Multiplayer. There are four different pieces of zombie clothing, and to unlock the full outfit you will need to complete various tiers of zombie mode.

"Survival mode in COD: AW has 4 tiers, 4 maps in the first 3 tiers, 1 map (Riot) in the last tier. To unlock the 2nd tier, you need to complete 50 rounds overall in the 1st tier, to unlock the 3rd tier, you need 75 rounds overall in 2nd tier, for the 4th and final tier, you need 100 rounds completed in the 3rd tier. You receive 2 pieces of zombie equipment for unlocking the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th tier.

To get the final 2 pieces ('zombie top' and the zombie player head) you need to reach round 10 on Riot (the 4th tier) at which point a DNA bomb drops, and you then have to fend off a single wave of zombies for about 3 minutes before evacuating and getting shown that cut scene that leaked earlier. There is no 'zombies mode' or any extra reward for doing this. These are permanent items."

Want help getting through these hordes of zombies? Check out Evil Controllers, they have the Master Mod which includes Rapid Fire, Quick Reload, and much more. These zombies won't stand a chance!

  • Huge Advanced Warfare Leaks Hit The Web

advanced warfare map leaksConsidering it is now so close to the release date of Advanced Warfare, it's expected that the internet is going to be filled with all sorts of leaked content from early release copies and other sources.

Fortunately for us, a lot of information about Advanced Warfare has been released over the last couple of weeks, and Sledgehammer Games are not happy about it. It's all good news for us though.

Whilst we don't have any footage to share with you today, we do have a bit of info to share about Advanced Warfare. For example, 13 maps for the game have been revealed, and we have the names for these maps below.

    - Ascend
    - Bio Lab
    - Comeback
    - Defender
    - Detroit
    - Greenland
    - Horizon
    - Instinct
    - Recovery
    - Retreat
    - Riot
    - Solar
    - Terrace

There is also a section for bonus maps, which is currently empty. This is most likely a spot reserved for future DLC maps. I think 13 maps at launch is a nice amount, and I hope that there is enough variety in these maps to keep players interested for a lengthy period of time.

I felt like the map design on COD Ghosts was a bit weak, so here's to hoping that Sledgehammer Games do Advanced Warfare justice with some decent map design.

Map design will be more important than ever as the new Exo Suits will give players more opportunities to traverse the environment. Previous rumors suggested that there will be a lot more verticality in the new Advanced Warfare maps, but so far we aren't sure whether this will hold true or not.

To prepare for the new Exo Suit get yourself a custom Master Mod controller from Evil Controllers. The Master Mod will put you a cut above the rest and results will be seen immediately.

  • Official Xbox One "Mini" Controller Announced

Xbox One Mini ControllerMicrosoft have just announced a brand new controller for their Xbox One - it has been branded the Xbox One Mini controller, and as the name suggests, it's a lot smaller than the traditional Xbox One game pad.

The Xbox One Mini controllers looks like a thinner, shiner version of the Xbox 360 controller, and it will in black, green and a black green combo color. Whilst the price of the new controller has not yet been revealed, the release date has been set for October 17th.

The controller has been built by Power A, in co-operation with Microsoft, as an officially licensed Xbox One controller, however, in our eyes, it just doesn't look nice enough to warrant a purchase.

It's likely the new Power A officially licensed controller will be slightly cheaper to offer Xbox One players an opportunity to grab more pads on a budget, but when it comes to controllers, we feel it's important to go big or go home.

The new Power A controller will be wired, and no wireless option will be available, and there's no way of knowing just how well the pad will hold up - the images certainly make the controller look a lot shoddier than the official Xbox pad.

If you're looking for something more impressive than the standard controller and don't trust the quality of the new Power A pad, you should check out our great custom controller creator and create a new Xbox One controller that looks badass and will withstand many heavy gaming sessions.

  • Maps unveiled for Titanfall IMC Rising DLC

imc rising titanfallRespawn Entertainment have now revealed all three maps for their upcoming third and final Titanfall DLC, IMC Rising, and by the sounds of it, season pass holders of the game are in for quite a treat.

The first map in the new IMC Rising DLC has been named Sand Trap, which features a network of trenches that are connected within a desert environment.

Map creator Chris Dionne mentioned that, "One of my main goals with Sand Trap was to use old ideas in new ways. In the center is a buried bunker inspired by the buried architecture in Fracture; this lets Titans stomp around above while pilots scurry below. Across the map are deep trenches that create a well-run highway for pilots; inspired by wall running in Rise they give quick and (relatively) safe routes across the map."

The second map for IMC Rising is a map focused on various levels of elevation and has been named Blackwater - this will be a map for those looking for some great 360 degrees jetpack-parkour combat.

The final map is Zone 18, an abandoned IMC base hidden within the wilderness.

IMC Rising for Titanfall will be released later this year for Xbox 360 and Xbox One - like the DLC packs before it, IMC Rising will be part of the season pass, and season pass holders will be able to pick it up for free, whilst other players will need to pay to access these levels.

  • New MCC Halo 3 Gameplay Shows off Graphical Changes

master chief collection halo 3 gameplayWhilst Halo 2 will be getting the largest overhaul in the Master Chief Collection, it's not the only game that's going to be getting a graphical update. In fact, on top of the game supporting 1080P resolution at 60fps across the board for all singleplayer campaigns, Halo 3 has now been confirmed to have a set of new lighting effects and graphical changes that add a bit more detail to the game.

Whilst the changes aren't as significant as the changes seen in Halo 2, the game certainly looks a lot crisper, and on top of this it plays flawlessly at 60 frames per second, something that the developers have mentioned players will really be able to feel.

Along with the confirmation, 343 Industries and Microsoft hosted a new gameplay event to showcase the changes made in Halo 3.

It's really quite exciting to see the game being capable of running at such a high frame rate without any problems, and it's almost a shame it won't end up looking quite as good as Halo 2 will. Despite this, both games should run fairly smoothly on the Xbox One without any issues.

As expected, Combat Evolved will be getting the same anniversary treatment as the standalone game did, so we don't expect to see any changes there.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection will release on 11th of November for the Xbox One, and will cost $59.99, despite containing four whole Halo games and hours of great content.

  • Advanced Warfare Coming to Last-Gen Thanks to High Moon

advanced warfare xbox 360For a while, we were unsure Advanced Warfare was ever going to come to last gen consoles, but now details have arisen to 100% confirm the presence of a last gen version of COD Advanced Warfare, which means players will be able to play the newest Call of Duty, even if they don't own a new console.

The development studio behind the last gen port of Advanced Warfare is High Moon, the same team behind a range of movie based Transformers games, and Deadpool which released in 2013.

There is definitely no doubting the creative potential of High Moon Studios, so it's likely the Advanced Warfare last gen port will be fairly spot on. Obviously one question that we all want answered is; what will the new gen have that the last gen won't?

Other than obvious graphical changes, it's unclear just what owners of the last gen version of Advanced Warfare will be missing out on. Gameplay-wise, it's likely there won't be that much difference, but there may be a few tweaks here and there to ensure performance on the Xbox 360 and PS3 is smooth enough.

Despite the port to last gen consoles, a Wii U version of Advanced Warfare is still not happening, which once again shows that not many developers are that interested in developing for Nintendo's new console at this point in time.

Do you think it's worth owning a new console for Call of Duty Advanced Warfare now that last-gen consoles will have playable version of the game?

Now that they released the good news that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is going to be released on last gen consoles its the perfect time pick up a brand new custom controller from Evil Controllers! Also, check out the Master Mod available for the Xbox 360 and PS3!
