  • Battlefield 1 To Get 5v5 Incursions Mode

battlefield 1 incursions modeBattlefield 1 is getting a brand new game mode that'll limit team size and put emphasis on team play within a much smaller squad.

The new game mode is called Incursions and it will feature a 10-player limit, with 5 players per team. While the player limit has been limited severely in the Incursions mode, it will still feature maps and vehicles that are used in other game modes.

To begin with, Incursions will go into a closed alpha state. During this time, players can register their interest to try the game mode and help to build the experience for the community. Afterwards, the game will be pushed out to live servers on all platforms that support Battlefield 1.

To begin with, the game mode will be limited to the PC during alpha phase. During this time, gameplay mechanics could be adjusted drastically. For now, though, DICE's vision for Incursions is to create a strategy-focused game mode with a highly competitive skill curve.

"Your choice in kit plays a critical role in the success of your squad, while every destroyed piece of environment can shift the entire momentum of the battle. Only the sharpest strategic teams will rise to the top of the competition. Every move and every bullet become the difference between victory and defeat. Scoring has been overhauled to create opportunities for dramatic comebacks and nail-biting upsets."

DICE announced the new game mode at Gamescom and also published a video showcasing the game mode. The new trailer is available to view on their Youtube channel.

  • Star Wars Battlefront 2 Gets Space Battle Trailer

star wars battlefront 2 space battleOne of the first complaints that players had with the first DICE Battlefront game was that the game didn't have any space battles.

This was a feature in the original Battlefront franchise that a lot of fans appreciated. Thankfully, Battlefront 2 will be getting space battles and the gameplay has been showcased in a brand new trailer from EA.

A brand new game mode is coming to Star Wars Battlefront 2 called Starfighter Assault - this is the mode that will incorporate most of the new space gameplay. In Starfighter Assault, one team must work together to destroy a starfighter, while the other team must try to keep it alive.

Players will have the opportunity to fly through space in a number of popular Star Wars spaceships, including TIE Fighters and A-Wings.

Besides the space combat, everything else about the new Starfighter Assault mode will remain the same. This means players will be able to use various pickups spread around the arena.

Players will also get the chance to fly different spaceships that belong to the heroes in Battlefront 2. As an example, Darth Vader's unique TIE Fighter is available as a hero power-up.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is set to launch on November 17 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The Starfighter Assault game mode will be available at launch, alongside a number of other game modes.

Some game modes will be making a return, while a number of new game modes will be brought to the Battlefront franchise for the first time. Some games, such as the Starfighter Assault mode, will be based on game modes from the first two Battlefront games.

  • New Battlefield 1 Map and Content Coming Soon

battlefield 1 new map name of tsarA brand new Battlefield 1 map has been announced and more information has been shared about the upcoming DLC content drop that will be hitting in late summer.

The brand new map for Battlefield 1 is named Prise de Tahure, and it will take place in the autumn after the Nivelle Offensive. This was a French and British lead offensive that took place in 1917. The official map description is as follows:

"Prise de Tahure sees French troops desperately holding on to re-captured heights in the Butte-de-Tahure region. The frontline trench networks cut right through several villages facing obliteration from the constant skirmishing between German stormtroopers and French raiders. This is a war of attrition. Adaptability and tactics are the means to wear your adversary down."

The new map will shortly be added to the community test environment - during test play, DICE will make any adjustments they see necessary. After that, the update will be prepared to launch alongside the upcoming The Name Of The Tsar DLC content drop.

It's been revealed that the Name Of The Tsar DLC pack will include the Russian army as a new playable faction. An event will take place on June 10 in which more content for the upcoming DLC pack will be revealed. A full release for the DLC is set for 'this summer.'

Are you looking forward to the upcoming content for Battlefield 1? What excites you more, the new Prise de Tahure map or the upcoming playable Russian faction?

  • Battlefield 1 Winter Update Released, Details Inside

battlefield 1 winter updateDICE has just pushed out the winter update for Battlefield 1. The update should be available now for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

While the update has already landed, most players still don't know about the highlights of the patch and what to expect from it. In this article, we've covered all bases, so take a read below to check out what's new.

Unsurprisingly one of the biggest focuses for the winter update was to fix bugs. DICE has done a wonderful job to keep Battlefield 1 running smoothly across all platforms and the latest winter update has eliminated plenty of little bugs and errors that have been pointed out by the community in the past.

The next biggest focus for the Battlefield 1 winter update is player progression. From now on, the maximum class rank will be 50, as opposed to 10. This applies to all of the four main classes, the pilot, tanker and all of the elite kits.

To go alongside the new class levels, there are brand new dog tags and customization options. Every ten rank after class rank 10 will introduce new items for players. Server owners will also have more control in the latest update. Server owners can now kick and permanently ban players from their server and a setup for map voting on custom servers is now available.

The Battlefield 1 winter patch was originally only going to be a small update for bug fixing so these new adjustments are welcome changes. The next big Battlefield 1 update is still in the works as well and should bring a larger range of tweaks and balancing changes.

  • Battlefront 2 is Coming 2017

battlefront 2 2017It's almost been two years since the first DICE Battlefront game, and now another one is on the horizon.

The first DICE-EA Battlefront tile may not have been accepted well by the community, but DICE has had chance to learn from their mistakes and they're hoping Battlefront 2 will be appreciated by FPS and Star Wars fans alike.

First things first, the new Battlefront 2 game is slated for a Holiday 2017 release, which means it'll most likely arrive around the same time of the year the first Battlefront title did in 2015. DICE will also be getting help this time round from another studio. The studio which has been hired to help out is none other than Criterion, the same guys behind the explosive Burnout video game series.

Another newly formed development team named Motive Studios will also be helping out. So far we're not sure how much of a part either of the other two developers will play in the development process, but DICE will be the main team, with Criterion and Motive offering additional support.

Battlefront 2 will feature a number of changes when compared to the original. Firstly, Battlefront 2 will have a single player campaign, which is an area that the original received a lot of complaints for. Battlefront 2 will also feature gameplay from all Star Wars eras, so this could include the original trilogy, episode 1, 2, 3 and all of the newer movies.

  • Free Battlefield 1 Map Hitting in December

    battlefield-1-giants-shadow

Whilst there is already a lot of future DLC content up for grabs for Battlefield 1 players, DICE are planning to release a free playable map in December. The new map will not cost players a single penny, and even those that have not purchased the season pass will get access to the map the day it is released.

The new map coming to Battlefield 1 in December is called Giant's Shadow and it will be themed after the Battle of Selle, which took place along the Selle River in France. This particular battle happened in 1918 for 7 days from October 17th to October 25th. The Battle of Selle was the very beginning of the end of World War 1.

On top of announcing the new Battlefield 1 map, DICE released an infographic sharing details about the recent Battlefield 1 betas that happened before the game was released. The infographic shared details about total participating players and player class selection. Out of the 13.2 million players that took part in the beta, 30% of players took the assault class, 28% took the scout class, 21% took the support class and a surprising 10% took the medic class.

During the beta, a total of 28.9 melee kills were made and 62.2 million kills were made from the back of a horse. This compared to just 23.8 million vehicular splatter kills.

Now that the game has released, we're definitely going to see more interesting stats and infographics from DICE based on the full version of Battlefield 1.

  • Battlefield 1 Single Player Details Revealed

    battlefield-1-singleplayer

New details about the single player portion of Battlefield 1 have been released by DICE.

In the new trailer and promo content on the Battlefield website, it has been revealed that the singleplayer in Battlefield 1 will have a number of separate 'War Stories.'

Each of the War Stories will have their own story, their own objectives and their own objectives with unique abilities. Each story will offer a different depiction of World War 1 and will put focus on a number of different characters.

This means that instead of one single campaign and one protagonist, the Battlefield 1 main storyline will have multiple stories and characters. It's likely that each individual mission will be a 'War Story' and players will get the chance to experience all sorts of different gameplay that Battlefield 1 has to offer.

For example, in one War Story, players will be playing as the right-hand man of Lawrence of Arabia. The objective will be to locate an armored train, find the supplies needed to take it down and engage in a big firefight at the end of the mission to take the train off the tracks.

There are plenty more War Stories with different scenarios and characters. On one mission you'll be out in the sky fighting it out against German fighter planes, whilst in another, you will be on the ground in harsh, unforgiving trench warfare.

Battlefield 1 launches on October 21 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and the Origin Store on Windows PC.

  • All Battlefield 4 DLC Up for Grabs for Free

    battlefield-4-all-dlc-free

Leading up to the release of Battlefield 1, DICE launched a campaign that, over the course of a few months, made all of the Battlefield 4 DLC available for free, for a short period of time. Whilst each DLC pack was only made available for free for a week each, once a player downloaded the DLC, they kept the rights to have the for free DLC forever.

Now that the Battlefield 1 release is just around the corner, DICE has decided to extend their generosity and release all of the previous Battlefield 4 DLC again. This time though, things are a little different.

This week will see the entire DLC offering from Battlefield 4 available online for free, all at once. In the past DICE released each DLC pack over time, but this is the first opportunity players have had to download it all at once for free.

All of the Battlefield 4 DLC packs will stay in a player's library once they have claimed the free offer. The offer extends to all platforms that support Battlefield 4. If you're on the PC you will need to head to the Origin PC Store, if you're on a PlayStation console you will need to visit the PSN Store, and the Xbox users will be able to access the content from the Xbox Games Store, either online or from the Xbox Dashboard.

To make things more interesting, DICE has also released a number of community missions and has bundled them into the different DLC packs. In total there are now five free DLC packs on offer.

  • Battlefield 4 Update on PS4 & Xbox One

Battlefield 4 Update on PS4 _ Xbox One

Whilst Battlefield 1 is just around the corner, DICE is still pushing out small updates to Battlefield 4. If you're playing Battlefield 4 still, you may be quite excited to know that a brand new user interface is coming to the game. The new update doesn't include any new content, but it does add a new centralized multiplayer interface for both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The main feature added to the new interface is to allow players to switch between Battlefield games easily. The interface will allow Battlefield 4 players to switch to Battlefield 1 once it has been released, as long as they own Battlefield 1 and have downloaded it to their system. The idea for the interface is quite unique, and it's not something we often see from game franchises that often.

For now, the interface does not add much more functionality to Battlefield 4, although the interface is a lot tidier now and it is certainly easier to navigate, even if you only ever plan to use it for Battlefield 4.

If you attempt to select Battlefield 1 without owning it, you will be given the option to purchase the game. It seems like DICE will be periodically suggesting to Battlefield 4 players to purchase Battlefield 1 on the new interface, so the only downside is that it may feel a bit like a big advertisement for the next game to those that do not own Battlefield 1.

Overall though, we'd say the new interface changes will be welcomed.

  • Battlefield 4 Navy Strike DLC Now Free

    1934305_0

Although all of the hype is one Battlefield 1 right now, DICE has recently started to release some of their previous DLC for Battlefield 4 as free content. Plenty of DLC packs are now readily available to 'purchase' for free from the Sony, Xbox and PC Marketplaces from any web browser.

The latest Battlefield 4 DLC pack to go free is the Navy Strike DLC. This pack includes a total of four new multiplayer maps, five weapons unseen by players that do not own the DLC pack, as well as two gadgets and a new hovercraft vehicle that can be used on water and land. As you can imagine, there is quite a lot of water on the Navy Strike maps.

The Carrier Assault mode is also exclusive to Navy Strike DLC owners, but now that it is available to download for free, everybody will be able to play the game mode. Usually the Navy Strike DLC cost $15 so if you'd like to gain access to it whilst it's free, you should sign into the PSN marketplace, the Xbox Games Store or the Origin PC app to claim the content as soon as possible.

Previous DLC released by DICE as part of the 'Road to Battlefield 1' campaign was only made available for free for a limited period of time. It's likely that this will apply for the Navy Strike DLC too. Once you have claimed it, however, you will be able to use the DLC for free forever.
