  • Dishonored: New Gameplay Trailer - The Study of Stealth

Hey there guys! Recently I showed you guys a new trailer out for Dishonored, promptly named "Creative Kills", that showed off the creative ways with which players can go about their assassinations. Today I bring to you a "new new" trailer that shows all the aspects that one must consider when sneaking about in the game.

As Arkane Studios mentioned before, they have developed the game such that players have complete freedom in choosing a playing style; they can choose to be aggressive or sneaky. However, the whole game is primarily meant to be played in stealth mode and if I am not wrong, most of you will agree with me in the fact that it is much more fun playing stealthy anyways!

As the main character Corvo, we will have at our disposal a wealth of gadgets and weapons to help us in our missions. The powers range from short range teleportation or "Blink" to "Possess" which lets you control ALL non-player characters in the game. You can even possess rats and fish!

If used in combination and effectively, the powers will allow you to get all the kills you ever wanted without ever being noticed. But it is not as simple as I make it sound which is exactly why the new gameplay trailer shows the basic ground rules that should be understood in order to sneak effectively. They even showed a few powers that help you stay undetected from enemies.

Is it just me or does it remind you guys of the game "Thief"? Sorry for bringing up this ancient game but I had to since I REALLY enjoyed it back in the day. At any case, Dishonored is set to launch 12th of October 2013 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Be sure to keep an eye on our website for more news about Dishonored and till then enjoy the gameplay trailer below.

  • Dishonored: New Gameplay Trailer Reveals New Powers and Unique Ways to Kill

As we have said before, Dishonored is shaping up to be a great game. If you guys don't know, Dishonored follows the story of Corvo (an assassin with super natural powers) as he sets to get revenge on all who wronged him and finally set things right. The entire game is about revenge as evidenced by the game's tag line "Revenge solves everything".

The game to me feels like a mash up of Assassin's Creed and Bioshock, which is why I am so psyched for it! Players will have at their disposal a wealth of gadgets, weapons and powers with which to slay their enemies. A recent gameplay trailer not only shows a few of the cool powers and weapons players will get but, also how to combine the powers to kill the enemies in creative and fun ways!

My favorite is the "Friendly Fire" where you first get an enemy to shoot at you and then "Bend Time" to stop the bullet in mid air, and then "Possess" the other individual to place him in the path of fire; end result is that he shoots himself! There are plenty more to see so check out the video (link given below).

As the developers said, players have complete freedom in how they want to go about killing their enemies. Each level has several ways to enter and move around in. Players can choose to be sneaky or go in guns blazing. From my initial impression, Arkane Studios have done an amazing job. The sandboxy nature of each level and the degree of freedom they have allowed the players to have in them is going to be the game's main attraction.

Dishonored is set to be released 12th of October 2012 for Xbox 360 and PS3 with the PC version following soon after. Be sure to keep a check on our website as we bring you more info about Dishonored as soon as they are revealed.

  • Dishonored - Award Winning Cast

Bethesda Softworks has recently revealed their star studded cast behind Dishonored. If you guys have been following our posts then you already have quite a bit of an idea about Dishonored.

To give you guys a summary, Dishonored follows the story of Corvo. Once he was the legendary swordsman of Dunwal and the protector of the Empress of Dunwal. Unfortunately, he gets falsely accused of the Empress's murder and is sentenced to life in Dunwal's dungeon.

A mysterious being soon approaches Corvo and lends him supernatural powers and grants him freedom from his prison. With his new found powers Corvo now sets off to seek revenge on those who killed the Empress and left him to rot.

    Check out the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1HlYTukh9A

As you can see, Dishonored is like if Assassin's Creed and Bioshock's love child. The game is divided into sandbox "levels" where players have the freedom to play in any way they choose to achieve their goals. From the initial impressions it is pretty much expected that this game will be awesome.

To make things better, the following award winning celebrities are going to lend their voices to the characters in the game.

Susan Surandon, Academy Award winner (seen in - Deadman Walking, Thelma and Louise), will be making her videogame debut as Granny Rags; an old blind woman and a former aristocrat who has lost her mind due years of hardship faced living on the streets.

Carrie Fisher, Emmy winner (Princess Leia in the Star Wars trilogy) will be broadcasting propagandas over the loudspeakers spread throughout the city of Dunwal, where the entire game takes place.

Brad Dourif, Golden Globe Winner (seen in - Lord of the Rings Trilogy), will be portraying the role of Piero; an inventor who not only creates the mask but also a wealth of gadgets used by Corvo during his missions.

Along with these powerhouses who alone bring another level of class to the game are:

-John Slattery (seen in - Adjustment Bureau, Mad Men) - playing the role of Admiral Havelock, a Loyalist who helps Corvo in his journey.
-Michael Madsen (seen in - Thelma & Louise, Kill Bill) - portraying the mysterious assassin, Daud.
-Chloe Grace Moretz (seen in - Hugo, Kick-Ass) - playing the role of the Empress' daughter who is kidnapped after her mother's murder, Young Lady Emily
-Lena Headey ("300," "Game of Thrones") - playing the role of Emily's caretaker, Calista

In addition to all these stars, Composer Daniel Licht (known for his work in Dexter) will be lending his musical talents to create the game's original soundtrack. I heard one of the tracks in one of the trailers and man does it sound good!

This is what Raphael Colantonio (President of Arcane Studios) had to say regarding the cast, "Having such talented actors voice Dishonored's compelling cast of characters adds a rich, powerful element to the game. We want to draw people into this virtual world and make it feel real. This celebrated cast adds wonderful depth and credibility to the overall Dishonored gameplay experience."

I couldn't agree more! I was already sold from the beginning due to Dishonored's unique gameplay and freedom of choice during missions, but this is really the icing on the cake! It's good to see dialogue and voice acting in games these days getting some priority. If done well, proper voice acting adds a layer of immersion to the game which really brings it to new heights.

As more information gets released we will be sure to let our fans know if modded controllers are compatible with this title.

  • Quadriplegic Gamer Calls For Custom Button Remapping In Console Games - Evil Controllers

The call of Chuck Bittner and his request for action to re-map controller buttons

Chuck Bittner has spoken. His call to action to access the technology to re-map buttons on today's great games has not gone unheard. Bittner is a Quadriplegic "Able Gamer" who is frustrated by the lack of attention that Developers, Publishers and Hardware creators have given to this community. A community that is filled with fans and competitors who will be able to participate on the same level and beyond if given the proper access to that technology. Evil Controllers has a great relationship with Randy "N0m4D" Fitzgerald, who is probably the most famous "Able Gamer" in the world. When Infinity Ward first created Modern Warfare they included the ability to remap buttons to Randy's specifications with the GAME!!! Pop in the first MW and you can find the "N0m4d" button configuration under controller options. But when MW2 shipped no such thing was included with the game.. Bringing the question back to Mr. Bittner... Who should we look too? The Game Developers or the Hardware developers.. I think that it should be both, but if we can mass produce controllers that have the technology to re map buttons out of the box, it would solve the gaming publishing problem. We here at Evil have developed that technology and have built hundreds of controllers for "Able Gamers". But that tech is still pricey because we have to work with 3rd party from Microsoft.
