An anonymous source jumped at the chance to grab the domain name, modernwarfare3.com, before Activision had the chance to secure ownership. Users who plugged in this domain name were routed away from any Call of Duty website, and originally were directed to an anti-Call of Duty video. Whoever runs the domain name is making an obvious statement of displeasure against the Call of Duty franchise.
Recently, however, users who plug in modernwarfare3.com are being redirected to DICEs official Battlefield 3 website. This raises an interesting debate over who runs the website domain name. It is unlikely that the site is run by DICE or Electronic Arts, given the bad public response they would endure as a

More updates on the upcoming Modern Warfare 3 have been released and the news denotes a crisper gaming experience for everyone. The Call of Duty franchise seeks to put out the best possible product each time they release a new game and MW3 will be no different.
A group of Call of Duty glitchers are helping Infinity Ward sift through the new games multiplayer game play in order to resolve pending issues. MapMonkeys, as the community is called, has helped with past Call of Duty titles, and this time around they are spending even more time cleaning up the game play.

Michael Condrey from Sledgehammer Games posted in a blog recently that Call of Duty Modern Warfare is going to feature a Color Blind Assist mode. Now, I know, you are probably wondering, what is that? And more pertinently, what is the point? But for people, like myself who are afflicted by color deficiency, or other who have full color blindness, this means that Modern Warfare 3 will be a level playing field.
The quick animations and flowing colors of modern games can be hard to follow for people with color related vision issues, and often times it means confusing enemies with friends in the game. Subsequently the game becomes bias towards people without these issues, and the inclusion of a Color Blind Assist

Battlefield 3 fanbase raising the rivalry between EA and Activision
It's only been a few weeks since E3 wrapped up and already the fanbases of both games of Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 are standing their ground on which game will win this year's FPS rivalry. You see it in various forums, comments sections of gaming news sites like Kotaku and Digg's gaming section, and you even hear it on other games voice/text chat like Team Fortress 2 and Halo: Reach.
Now I'm a person who's usually on the fence

New development studio "Respawn Entertainment" consist of former Infinity Ward staff and Call of Duty creators
So a while back, Infinity Ward and a lot of the staff who worked on the Call of Duty franchise had a bit of tension going on (and when I mean "a bit" I mean "a large amount") due to contracts between them and Activision. In result, Jason West and Vince Zampella (who co-created the Call of Duty franchise) and nearly half of Infinity Ward's staff left the company to venture out on their

The newest installment in the Call of Duty series, Modern Warfare 3, has already created an enormous buzz throughout the gaming community. I am among those who are counting down the days till we can get our hands on a copy of the game, and get right down to business, CoD style. The new Call of Duty Elite system, along with the release of the new title are going to revolutionize the first-person shooter experience and the hype surrounding the game grows with every passing day.
Activision has recently announced that they are offering an exclusive event that allows gamers to be among the first to have a hands on experience with Modern Warfare 3. Call of Duty followers have the opportunity to travel to Los Angeles, CA and pay $150 for entry to Activisions Call of Duty XP 2011 exclusive event. The event is scheduled for the 2nd and 3rd of September, and as a gamer, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to play MW3 two months

Modern Warfare 3
There have been some rumors surrounding the new Modern Warfare titleregarding a new game type called survival mode. Recently, however, it seems thatthese rumors have been confirmed and the new gameplay mode is in its beta stage.Survival mode will basically be a wave defense gameplay type that will take theplace of zombies in MW3. In my mind, I picture something similar to horde modein the Gears of War series, and if this is the case I am really excited to get to try it out. -

Time Magazine-Gamestop Promotion under stress of its reception
While TIME magazine doesn't seem to be the magazine for gamers (I'm more a US News & World Report person myself), the magazine is getting some news from its Gamestop poster/promotion which I talked about back in mid-May. While it seems like it is getting some attention, some of it not what Activision wanted.
According to the New York Times, TIME magazine supported the art direction of the promo and also approved of Activision's

Joystiq.com has just broken the news. Black Ops has more DLC planned to release on June 28th. Is this too close to our last DLC dosage, or is it exactly what we needed?
This DLC adds 4 new maps for multiplayer: Hangar 18, Drive-In, Silo, and Hazard. For fans of zombie mode, the DLC adds the map Shangri-La which our Evil Girls are very excited about.
To launch the release of this new DLC Treyarch will be throwing a double XP weekend on July 1st, so get your Evil Controllers ready, because the annihilation is just getting started.
