The Orchestrated Video Game Music Tour Could Be Appearing in Smaller Venues and Areas
To celebrate it's decade of success, Video Games Live will celebrate in 2012 by heading to smaller venues and towns across the globe. Their reasoning to shy away a bit from populous places like New York and Chicago, was due to demand from their fans and their success.
"We continually receive thousands of emails a year from families and gamers who would love to experience our show, but find it hard to travel to major cities and have to deal with travel expenses, overnight stays, getting the kids [...]

The world's largest MMORPG hasn't reached its peak and has lots of potential, according to Blizzard.
Back in 2010, World of Warcraft obtaineda high number of 12 million+ subscribers to its game. But recently, the company's most recent stats show that the game has lost nearly 600,000 members. It is probably due to the rise of F2P (free to play) games showing up and taking people away from WOW, which runs on a paid subscription platform. With the rising number of free-to-play games, some think WOW's gone the way of the gaming industry's dodo, Everquest.
Blizzard doesn't think so, and states you shouldn't [...]

Ubisoft-France uses a three-story Enzio to end a "war" with a local French bank.
Back in May, a female staff member at Ubisoft France's office took a number of yellow post-it notes and made a Space Invader on her window. Across the street, a staff member at BNP Paribas(a local French bank) saw it and "fired back" by making one of his own. Then she made another, and he made another in response. And thus the great Ubisoft-BNP Paribas post-it war of 2011. Soon the French media caught wind of the war and began day-to-day coverage of the clash between the [...]

Blizzard contemplates on bringing Diablo III to PS3, XBOX, and/or Wii-U in the future
Blizzard has in the pastshown interest about having Diablo III or a Diablo-related concept on gaming consoles when they were asked about such an idea. Well lately, it seems they are thinking more seriously about the concept more and more.
Recently at Blizzard's press conference at Germany's Gamescom,Josh Mosqueira, Diablo III lead designer, stated that he is"very, very serious" about bringing some undefined "experience" to platforms beyond PC gaming. That interpreted means he and his team at Blizzard are likely on trying to bring the experience to consoles.
"Today [...]

Nintendo's new console will support 3D TVs but won't focus on it.
The Wii U, Nintendo's new console, will support 3D television technology according to Nintendo's company president Satoru Iwata in an interview with Mercury News. However, since most people don't own a 3D TV these days and it doesn't seem like its going to be common as the DVD player for a while, Nintendo isn't putting much emphasis into it.
"If you are going to connect Wii U with a home TV capable of displaying 3-D images, technologically, yes, it is going to be possible, but that's not the area we [...]

Jack Tretton of Sony states some harsh words for gamers, especially 3DS owners.
Okay so after finding this technology article from Fortune Magazine's online site, I think you can see what myself (and about 99% of the gaming community) thinks about this statement. Frankly, I think Jack just probably shot himself in the foot with this statement, probably thinking no one in the gaming community would find it on Fortune Magazine's site.
It's proof that this man (not the company) who makes decisions for Sony's department of entertainment doesn't get what the gamers of today are. Sure there are a lot of [...]

First Graders getting taught with the help of the indy game, Minecraft.
Joel Levin, a computer teacher in Manhattan's Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School got an idea to use Minecraft in his teachings when he noticed his daughter built a treehouse in the game. While there was some doubts about using Minecraft as teaching tool in his head, he was satisfied with the results of his teachings.
Joel claimed that from the first day, all the kids were working and playing together in the one world. They claimed they were working together by sharing resources, taking turns, working as a team [...]
