  • Killzone Shadow Fall Patch Adds Left-handed Controller Support

A new patch for Killzone: Shadow Fall has been released and it brings a bunch of new features and fixes, including the inclusion of a left handed control setup for any lefties out there finding it hard to play with the regular button layout. Guerrilla Games have also addressed a few other issues and made some changes to balancing in the game in both multiplayer and singleplayer. You can read the patch notes below:

    • Several UI issues fixed
    • Error messages in Multiplayer amended to have better indication of the error
    • Edge-case crashes related to friends lists fixed
    • Additional integrity fixes for the patching system

Guerrilla games have said that the patch should download and install automatically, but if you have problems with installing it, you'll receive an error message when trying to play in multiplayer. To fix the issue you'll need to reboot the PlayStation 4 to begin the installation progress. The new patch will also prevent errors with installing any future patches or hotfixes. Although this patch has been designed to fix bugs and game issues, keep an eye out in the future for more content, as Guerrilla games have revealed that they will be patching in new content for the game in the future instead of charging for DLC content. The DLC content has been planned to include new multiplayer maps, and all players will be able to download them for free. I definitely have to give kudos to these guys for not trying to milk money out of their FPS franchise.

  • Killzone Shadowfall 8 minute gameplay Video Shows Full Match

Despite seeing in-game footage of Killzone Shadowfall's multiplayer last time, we only saw snippets, and because of that, we had no idea about what the game feels like when playing. Luckily though, Guerrilla Games, the developers behind the Killzone series have allowed players to play and record right off the floors of PAX Prime, and a video showing 8 full minutes of a multiplayer game have been put on Youtube.

The video is quite shaky and there is a lot of background noise so it isn't the best thing to watch, but it does give insight into what the Killzone multiplayer will feel and play like.

The first thing to note was that the graphics were extremely pretty, and with all the graphics, detailing and lighting effects, it was surprisingly a little overwhelming and proved hard to spot enemies at a distance.

Hopefully you'll be able to get used to the screen glares and other effects, because the multiplayer does look to be quite enjoyable.

I wouldn't say the multiplayer is or will be as played or enjoyable as Battlefield 4 or COD Ghosts, and that is mainly because both the developers behind BF4 and COD put a lot of their time into focusing on the multiplayer aspect.

Guerrilla games have started to work on a multiplayer game mode, but it still feels fresh in the series and doesn't have a unique shine to it to make it stand out.

Because of this, my advice would be to buy Killzone Shadowfall only if you're looking forward to a spectacular single player experience- the multiplayer could be great, but don't get your hopes up for an entirely multiplayer experience from Killzone Shadowfall.

  • Sony Confirms There Will be PS4 Bundles Available at Launch

Despite there only being the PlayStation 4 on it's own available for pre-order at the moment, after a leak from a French retailer Sony has confirmed that there will be various bundles available on shelves on launch day.

This information was given to Videogamer at Gamescom by Sony Computer Entertainment UK chief Fergal Gara. Fergal Gara said to Videogamer that, "We're tremendously happy with our overall value proposition, whether that be the entry price point of the machine or the detailed bundles and combinations that we will put on shelf at retail which we haven't fleshed out in detail as yet."

The leaked bundle on the French website included A PlayStation 4 console, a copy of Killzone Shadowfall, two DualShock PS4 controllers, and the PlayStation camera for EUR 499.99 which translates to around $650 US dollars.

Strangely though, Killzone Shadowfall was confirmed to not have split screen play, so it seems a weird choice to bundle Shadowfall with two controllers.

Fergal Gara made it sound as if there will be multiple bundles though so if you're looking to get everything at once after launch keep your eyes peeled.

  • New Killzone: Shadowfall Gameplay

Killzone seems to be one of those FPS games that is being pushed to compete for the first person shooter crowns this generation and whilst everyone's favorite game might be different to their friend's, there is no denying that Killzone Shadowfall is something to look forward to.

To keep us all excited, new gameplay footage of Killzone Shadowfall's multiplayer in action has been released, and it looks spectacular.

From what the gameplay shows it seems that Shadowfall will have a similar scoring points system to Call of Duty, and there seems to be some kind of D-pad enabled ability system that looks similar to the one used for Halo 4's personal ordnance drop system.

Apart from that, the HUD seems quite minimal, although the kill log that tells players who's killed who may end up cluttering smaller screens.

The graphics are incredibly good, although in some areas this makes it quite hard to spot the enemy so some players may be turned away by this. Others may enjoy the immersive experience. It really comes down to preference and at this point what makes your FPS crowned king this generation really is based upon your own opinion on the games available.

  • 2010 Good vs. Bad

Game Reviews - Best/Worst of the Year.

With Black Friday behind us, now it time to focus in on the last month of the year. The same month, many of you Evil fans will be asking Santa for a new Xbox, Kinects, Playstation Move, Black Ops, Killzone, Donkey Kong and much more. December is a great month because it is when I get to add to my video game collection. Before we wrap up the year, lets look back and see what games and accessories came out that made 2010 a great year for the gaming industry.

Everyone was anticipating Halo Reach this year for Xbox 360. Hoping Bungie did not mess up their last installment of the series. Many fans were worried about Trey Arch making Call of Duty, but Black Ops has already sold more copies than Modern Warfare 2. Sports games were pretty good this year as well. NBA 2K11 came out with Michael Jordan and is being reviewed as one of the best basketball/sports games to ever come out. Fall Out New Vegas came out and it has been getting great reviews thus far. Even when good games come out, there are always some games that dont make all the expectations. Medal of Honor came out this year, with Halo Reach and Black Ops, I just didnt feel it could compare to those two. Spiderman Shatter Dimensions wasnt supposed to be a huge gaming release but for Spiderman fans I feel the game was somewhat of a letdown. Sonic the Hedgehog 4 for some reason just couldnt pull in old Sega Genesis gamers.

We cant forget the new accessories. Microsoft finally released the Kinects, which in my opinion is a great piece of art, just needs some fine tuning. Playstation Move will also change how people play video games, taking what Nintendo did with the Wii and making it better (at least that what Sony thinks they are doing). So far the Move has not been selling as well as they expected, but that could change over time.

For those of you who did not know, the Video Games Awards are coming on December 11th on Spike. I was thinking, which game is going to win Game of the Year, Studio of the Year, Best PS3, XBOX 360, Wii game and much more. I was thinking about all the games I had the chance to play this year. Out of all of the games that came out this year, I was really impressed with Assassins Creed Brotherhood and I think that could win game of the year. For the third installment, I didnt think Ubisoft would expand much from Assassins Creed II, but I was wrong. I also think Fall Out New Vegas is going to win some awards, maybe most addictive. For all those Evil Fans make sure to check out the VGAs because it always seems there are games that came out that didnt get a lot of recognition, like Vanquish and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World that are great games to play.
