  • Danganronpa Another Episode coming September for Europe and NA

A brand new trailer and a number of screenshots have been released for Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls, and alongside it a release date has been announced by NIS America. Danganronpa Another Episode is set for release this September in Europe and North America.

Danganronpa Another Episode will be released on the PS Vita on September 1 in North America and September 4 in Europe.

Danganronpa Another Episode will take a slightly different approach to the first two games in the series. This time round, the action adventure title will focus on two heroines - Komaru Naegi and Toko Fukawa. Both the characters are thrown into Towa City, and it’s been plagued with despair and depression.

The Danganronpa series has always been one of NIS America’s more action packed titles, so if you’re not so much for the turn based JRPG style of their other games, you may be more interested in Danganronpa Another Episode.

In Danganronpa Another Episode, Komaru Naegi plays a large role in the story of the game. Komaru is Makoto Naegi’s younger sister, and she has been imprisoned inside a mysterious building for over a year. In Danganronpa Another Episode Byakuya Togami, a member of the Future Foundation attempts to rescue Komaru.

The rescue is derailed as swarms of Monokumas attempt to attack Byakuya Togami. Eventually, Komaru does escape but she finds that the city has been taken over by a group of child warriors named the Warriors of Hope.

  • Etrian Mystery Dungeon Will Launch September 11

The release date for Etrian Mystery Dungeon has been confirmed by NIS America to be September 11 for Europe. The North American release is still not known but it will be dealt with a separate publisher, Atlas U.S.A.

Etrian Mystery Dungeon will be released as both a physical and digital Nintendo 3DS title once it launches. Unfortunately NIS America hasn't mentioned the install size, but it shouldn't be too large.

Etrian Mystery Dungeon will be an RPG title with turn based combat that incorporates some unique gameplay features. Choosing the right abilities and skills will be important as you'd expect, but the strategic positioning of your party also plays a large part in your success.

From what we've seen so far, this new combat system looks like it could be incredibly engaging, and I personally can't wait to see how it plays out in real time. Mystery Dungeon will have a number of different classes that Etrian Odyssey fans may be familiar with. Classes such as Landsknecht and Runemaster will be in Mystery Dungeon. Players will also have greater control over customizing the individuals in their party, and the game will feature a bunch of Etrian Odyssey style skill trees.

The dungeons in Mystery Dungeon will also be procedurally generated - no two dungeons will be the same, and I think this is a great route for NIS America to take. As you continue to play, the dungeons will start to become more challenging, alongside the monsters you'll have to fight.

  • Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor 2 Scheduled for October 30

NIS America has announced that Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor 2 will be making it’s way to Europe on October 30 for the Nintendo 3DS with English voiced dialogue. The game will be launched as both a physical and digital release, so you’ll be able to download it online or purchase it in-store. Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor 2 will also be published by Atlas Inc. in North America following the European release.

Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor 2 features turn based combat and an interesting storyline to keep players captivated. In Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor, the world of Record Breaker is on the brink of destruction - An apocalypse has begun.

Before the apocalypse, a group of thrill-seekers registered to a website that claimed to deliver fake videos of their friends being killed. These videos had some kind of other meaning behind them though, and as people tried to understand the true meaning of the videos, an alien invasion forced humanity to struggle to survive.

For the protagonist and his friends, it’s up to them to stand up for humanity. The very same website ends up downloading an app onto their smartphones, and it has the ability to summon demons. These characters manage to learn how to tame the demons, and they’re given the chance to save the future of humanity. The choices the player makes as the protagonist could help save the world … Or seal the fate of their friends.

  • Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold Coming February 12

The successor to the first Etrian Odyssey is making it's way to Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS early next year on February 12. The game will be released on both platforms as separate titles. The first of which is a Nintendo 3DS remaster of Etrian Odyssey 2: Heroes of Lagaard.

The remastered edition includes new dungeons, remastered graphics and various system improvements, making it the most definitive edition available for you to get your hands on.

The second game is the Untold portion - this is a brand new story mode that gives players a fixed party to play with. There's voiced dialogue and animated cutscenes that takes a look into the bittersweet story of the Fafnir Knight and Princess Arianna.

Untold will have a strong focus on the characters and their own involvement with the Fafnir Knight's story. As the game unfolds, your part will adventure into the ruins of and the Yggdrasil Labyrinth. The party includes Flavio the protagonist and two accomplices, Bertrand and Chloe.

Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold will have varying levels of difficulty that newcomers and veterans alike will enjoy. On top of a hardcore Expert mode for the die-hard veterans, there is also a Picnic mode that makes the game a walk in the park - this is a great option for those that just want to enjoy the story of the game and not be presented with difficult within the game.

The Fafnir is also added as a brand new character class and will only be available in the game's story mode. The Fafnir has the ability to transform into a beastly demonic form that can enhance the Fafnir's attributes and abilities.

  • Super Mario Gets Mashed Up with Ghostbusters 2 by Farr

If you like Super Mario or Ghostbusters, then you'll definitely feel the love gone into an instant classic on YouTube that has mashed up both of the two into a nostalgic pit of 1980's wonder.

The new Super Mario Busters 2 manages to shed light on the amazing concepts of both worlds, and somehow manages to merge them into something wonderful.

If Luigi's Mansion 3DS were to receive a follow up, the mashup by Farr is something I'd hope it to look like.

James Farr has become an internet sensation thanks to his plethora of videos on his channel that has managed to throw in some of this century's classic movies and games into a (sometimes mashed up) animated bundle of delights.

Farr has released Pac Man: The Movie, Transformer videos, and even his own mashup of Back to the Future and Doctor Who. It only makes sense that his next move was to cover the Super Mario games and in my opinion he's done it very well.

Replacing Ray, Peter, Egon and Winston are of course Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and a less obvious character, Sonic the hedgehog. The video game characters go about business similarly to how the real Ghostbusters would, busting ghosts and keeping the city clean, but also keeping their own video game style to the video.

The mashup has also made some pretty comedic changes to the city that the Ghostbusters are located in. For example, the Statue of Liberty has been replaced with a statue of Samus Aran in the New Super Mario Busters 2 and even Kamek and the Magikoopa show their faces in the video.

If you're a fan of Nintendo games or Ghostbusters then you should really check out this video as it's literally oozing with nostalgia and has been beautifully crafted. James Farr was probably the kid at school that knew how to complete every Mario level on record time, and his videos really prove it.

  • Microsoft Shows off SmartGlass

Last week during E3, Microsoft showcased their newest tech to compete with Nintendo's Wii U and Sony's PS3 and PS Vita interconnectivity.

SmartGlass was revealed and is an app for phones and tablet devices that turns them into a secondary screen for your Xbox 360. While game developers may be working on interesting ways to incorporate this new technology it also turns your tablet or phone into an excellent media companion. Microsoft provided an example of how it could be used on non-gaming experiences. The example they used was using Smartglass on your tablet while you enjoy an episode of Game of Thrones. The app could identify which episode you're watching and could sync with your particular position in the show to give you additional information on characters and the physical location the characters are in within the universe.

In addition to being an additional display in our favorite games it can also function as a multiple purpose controller to allow you to use your Xbox as a computer and more easily navigate and use Internet Explorer on your Xbox.

It will take a few months before we see anything compelling in the game space regarding this tech, but is it something you're excited to see or are you ready for an Xbox 720 and the new generation of games?

  • A 'New' Nintendo Controller

Nintendo has just revealed alot of information on their new console the Wii U, but they have also revealed a new way to play on their console. While it isn't a real 'new way' to play it's definitely a new direction for the Wii. With the Wii U being in a prime spot to receive ports of 360 and PS3 games there hasn't really been a comfortable way to play hardcore games like Call of Duty or other beloved shooters. Thus Nintendo is releasing their Pro controller that looks very similar to an Xbox controller.

With this controller you can expect Evil will be there to modify them if that's something our fans would like. The new controller has swapped the positions of the 360's ABXY buttons with their right thumbstick.

Is this a design that hardcore gamers will appreciate? Or is it simply too late for Nintendo to appease their hardcore fan base? With more information on the way it'll be interesting to see what controller developers prefer most. For those gamers that love their wii-motes those will still be compatible on the Wii U as well. So definitely let us know if you would like to see modded controllers for the Wii U.

  • Gaming Controllers

Gaming Controllers, Which Console Design is #1?

No doubt over the years we have seen companies like Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo as the frontrunners in gaming, change their controllers or make new ones to help feed this era of technology driven individuals. After stumbling upon an article about which controller is the best, it came down to the Xbox 360 controller and the PS3 controller.

Over many years of trying to remodel their controllers, I do sincerely agree that the Xbox 360 and the PS3 controllers are the best that the market has to offer as of late. Which one is better, is only going to be a matter of preference. However, we have a new wave of controllers being launched onto the market. Let's take the Playstation Move and the Kinect for example, while they are revolutionary controllers to say the least, I have yet to see the real draw to them. I have played many games using the Kinect, not that there are a ton out there. None of them seem to really put the Kinect to the test. That being said, I think the article I was reading brought up an interesting point, "Are hardware manufacturers thinking ahead of software developers?" I definitely think this is the case, especially with the Wii U upon the horizon. Are there going to be games that really challenge it? Or are we just going to be turning back to the regular old handhelds because it's easier?

Regardless, Evil will always be there updating and improving the stock designs to modify and improve the controllers with Evil Imaging, pro-series options, mods and more!

Peter Molyneux is the mind behind the popular Xbox franchise, Fable and has recently departed Microsoft to start his own indie studio.
