  • Detailed COD Advanced Warfare Prestige Emblems Detailed

cod advanced warfare prestige emblemsWhilst nobody is yet the highest prestige in Advanced Warfare yet, the release of the game has allowed players to dive into the code and find out exactly what all of the prestige emblems look like.

Admittedly, all of the prestige emblems in Call of Duty Advanced do look pretty cool, but the most interesting thing to come from the leaked prestige emblems is that there are a total of 16 prestiges in COD Advanced Warfare.

It was revealed earlier in the year that Call of Duty Advanced Warfare would have a total of 15 prestiges, but it looks as if they have added in one more for the mix. On top of having 16 prestiges, Call of Duty Advanced Warfare will have 50 ranks for each prestige, meaning you will have to level up a total of 800 times before you max prestige the game, which is pretty crazy.

In the screenshot shown above, all 16 of the new Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Prestige emblems can be seen.

COD Advanced Warfare released earlier this week, and from our first impressions we are very impressed with the game so far. It has enough new to the franchise to keep things fresh, but it still feels and looks like the Call of Duty we have come to know and love.

It will be interesting to see how well Call of Duty Advanced Warfare has sold, considering that it is available on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and the PC.

  • October PlayStation Plus Free Games Lineup Finally Revealed

ps plus gamesAfter a two week delay, Sony have finally revealed the next lineup for the monthly free PlayStation Plus games, and for October, PS Plus subscribers are in for a big treat.

Firstly, DRIVECLUB has now been released, and players can pick up a free copy of the game with a limited amount of features - whilst DRIVECLUB has debuted this month, it will remain free for PS Plus subscribers forever.

The PlayStation Plus version of DRIVECLUB is fairly limited. For example, PS Plus subscribers who do not pay for the game will only get access to 10 different cars and 11 different tracks to race on. In essence, the PS Plus version of DRIVECLUB is more like an extended demo.

As for the actual October PlayStation Plus games, The PlayStation 4 has Dust: An Elysian Trail and Spelunky available for free this month.

On PlayStation 3, Batman Arkham Asylum has been put up for free, and players can also grab Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystaria. Finally, for the PS Vita, both Pix the Cat, a new intense arcade game, and Rainbow Moon, a JRPG style game, have been put up for free.

I'd say October looks like a good month for PS Plus subscribers, and if I don't get a chance to try any of the games released this month, I'll definitely be giving DRIVECLUB a go at some point. Besides DRIVECLUB, Batman Arkham Asylum may be the best offering this month, but all of the other titles are worth trying too.

  • Metal Gear Solid V Gameplay Shows off Dog Companion

metal gear solid dog companionAs it turns out, players will be able to obtain a cute puppy companion in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain which will follow the player around throughout the game.

It has already been revealed that Hideo Kojima's new AI companion system will allow players to pick allies of Snake to join him on missions throughout Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, but a new a gameplay video from Tokyo Game Show reveals a new companion that I think a lot of players are going to learn to love.

The companion, which has been named the Diamond Dog, is a wolf companion that can be found in-game as a puppy. The game event at the Tokyo Game Show captured the relationship between Snake and the wolf as it grows, and I must admit, it is certainly filled with a lot of 'Aww' moments.

The Diamond Dog even manages to receive his own eye patch later in the story, too. It must be noted that playing alongside the Diamond Dog, or any other AI companion character is completely optional, and players can choose whether to take these companions on missions with them before they set off to reach their destination.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is set for release at some point in 2015 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and the PC. So far, no solid release date has been announced, but as we near closer to 2015, I expect a confirmation for an exact date for the release of the game will be unveiled.

  • The Last of Us Remastered Sold 1 Million Copies

last of us remastered sales - CopyIf you've ever been anywhere near any video game retail stores recently, you've probably seen The Last of Us Remastered quickly jump to the top of the PlayStation 4 charts, so it's unlikely you'd be surprised to hear that the remastered PS4 version of the The Last of Us has managed to sell over 1 million copies already.

The original The Last of Us managed to sell over 7 million copies on the PlayStation 3, and the Remastered version of the PS4 may be able to get close to that in the coming months. Unsurprisingly, the Last of Us Remastered managed to pull in 632,000 copies in it's first week, whilst The Last of Us sold a little over double that in the same period at 1.3 million copies worldwide.

If The Last of Us Remastered continues to sell at the same pace it is now, it's possible the two games will manage to reach a combined sale of 10 million copies worldwide, which would be pretty impressive considering the game is a PlayStation exclusive.

Whilst it's possible The Last of Us 2 could come about, Naughty Dog are currently working on creating a movie adaptation of the game. Before that though, we can expect to see Uncharted 4 for the PlayStation 4. Despite a final date for Uncharted not being revealed as of yet, Uncharted 4 has been predicted to release at some point in 2015, and will remain to be a PlayStation 4 exclusive.

  • Destiny Free Last-Gen Promotion Revealed

destiny last gen upgrade - CopyIt has been revealed that Bungie plan to provide a promotion to make it easier for those who own both a new and an old gen console.

In simple terms, players who purchase either the Xbox 360 version or the PlayStation version of Destiny will be able to upgrade to a new console in the future at no cost. Many developers have provided discounted 'upgrade' promotions that usually allow a player to purchase a PS4 or Xbox One copy of a game for a discounted price, as long as they own the same game for either the PS3 or Xbox 360 respectively. This is the first time a developer has offered a game upgrade for free, which is pretty awesome.

There are a few rules to the free Destiny promotion - firstly, players must choose to upgrade before January 2015, as the promotion will end after this period, and secondly, players will only be given a digital version of the game to download from either the Xbox Games store or the PSN marketplace.

Players will also only be able to use the promotion within the same console family. For example, PS3 players will only be able to grab a free version for the PS4, and Xbox 360 players will only be able to grab a free version for the Xbox One.

Finally, players who upgrade will be able to carry their stats over to their new console as long as they use the same gamer profile for both consoles.

  • PlayStation Plus September Games Announced

ps plus september gamesThe new game lineup for the PS Plus games on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PS Vita have now been announced, and whilst it's lineup may perhaps be the weakest it's been for a few months, there's still a decent amount of free games to delve into. As usual, the lineup spans six games across all three current PlayStation consoles.

For the PlayStation 4, PS Plus subscribers will be able to get their hands on Velocity 2X, a fast paced side scrolling platformer that has a wide range of cool shooting, teleporting and other great sci-fi mechanics. The second PS4 title is Sportsfriends, which is a great party game filled with all sorts of quick arcade and puzzle games that people can play together on the same console.

On the PlayStation 3, All Stars Battle Royale has been put up for free - this is a great game that pits together all of PlayStation's best known video game characters and sticks them in the same arena for a Super Smash Bros' style fighting experience.

Hoard, which is the merge of both a real time strategy game and a dual stick shooter, is the second PS3 game available this month.

As for the PS Vita, Joe Danger, an action packed racer/platformer has been put up for free, along with TxK, a really colorful arcade shooter. All of the new PlayStation Plus subscriber games were put up for free on September 2nd, and will remain there till the start of next month.

  • Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain Multiplayer Content Shown

phantom pain multiplayer contentWhilst all of the video footage we've seen so far has shown off the extensive singleplayer experience for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, a new gameplay video that has just been released has a large portion showing off the multiplayer content within the game.

This is the first time the Metal Gear Solid V multiplayer portion of the game has been put online, so Kojima has been pretty excited to show fans what the new MGS game will offer players.

Metal Gear Solid IV managed to keep things refreshing by adding a enjoyable multiplayer game mode to the franchise for the first time, and this time round it looks like Kojima wants the multiplayer experience to be even more feature-filled.

In Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, players will be able to customize and equip their "mother base" with a range of different traps, rooms and military equipment. Once a mother base has been created, other players will have the ability to infiltrate the mother base.

We've heard about the mother base content before, but to make things even more interesting, just before the video ends, two players can be seen confronting one another, and at this point it's clear that there will be the chance for some interesting player versus player content within a mother base.

The release date for the Phantom Pain has not yet been confirmed, but it's likely to be some time between the holiday season this year and Q1 2015.

  • Advanced Warfare Coming to Last-Gen Thanks to High Moon

advanced warfare xbox 360For a while, we were unsure Advanced Warfare was ever going to come to last gen consoles, but now details have arisen to 100% confirm the presence of a last gen version of COD Advanced Warfare, which means players will be able to play the newest Call of Duty, even if they don't own a new console.

The development studio behind the last gen port of Advanced Warfare is High Moon, the same team behind a range of movie based Transformers games, and Deadpool which released in 2013.

There is definitely no doubting the creative potential of High Moon Studios, so it's likely the Advanced Warfare last gen port will be fairly spot on. Obviously one question that we all want answered is; what will the new gen have that the last gen won't?

Other than obvious graphical changes, it's unclear just what owners of the last gen version of Advanced Warfare will be missing out on. Gameplay-wise, it's likely there won't be that much difference, but there may be a few tweaks here and there to ensure performance on the Xbox 360 and PS3 is smooth enough.

Despite the port to last gen consoles, a Wii U version of Advanced Warfare is still not happening, which once again shows that not many developers are that interested in developing for Nintendo's new console at this point in time.

Do you think it's worth owning a new console for Call of Duty Advanced Warfare now that last-gen consoles will have playable version of the game?

Now that they released the good news that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is going to be released on last gen consoles its the perfect time pick up a brand new custom controller from Evil Controllers! Also, check out the Master Mod available for the Xbox 360 and PS3!

  • LittleBigPlanet Will be Released for PS3

littlebigplanet 3 ps3 When LittleBigPlanet was announced at E3 this month, details on the release of the title were a little unclear. At first, it was believed that the game would be an exclusive for the PlayStation 4, but new details reveal that the next title in the littleBigPlanet series will in fact be developed for PlayStation 3 as well.

Despite this new bit of information, nothing's quite set in stone at this point for the PS3 version. It sounds like the developers for LittleBigPlanet 3 definitely plan to get the game released for the old gen PlayStation, but whether or not it will launch alongside the PS4 version, and whether it will come with any drawbacks or not is not clear at this point.

Last week we had a little look at what Little Big Planet 3 will have to offer, and we decided that it was certainly something to look forward to, especially if you played and enjoyed any of the previous titles in the franchise.

LittleBigPlanet 3 will have more of a focus on cooperative gameplay than other games have had, and there will be a wide range of new characters with their own skill sets that players will be able to utilize together to complete certain levels.

LittleBigPlanet was previously planned for a release later this year in November for PlayStation 4.
It's possible the PS3 version will release at the same time, but we'll keep you updated on news for the PlayStation 3 date as well.

  • Massive COD Ghosts Ban wave Will Not Be Reversed

    cod ghosts banwave

Dozens of players are reporting that they have just been banned from playing Call of Duty Ghosts in what looks to be the biggest ban wave the game has ever seen.

When connecting to servers for the first time after loading the game, banned players will be notified that they have been permanently banned due to a violation in the security and enforcement policy.

The ban wave seems to have mainly targeted both the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 3, but the main reason for why players have been banned seems to be unclear. Whether or not it's related to cheating or using unfair exploits has not yet been revealed by Activision, but it seems some players are stating they have played legitimately and have been caught up in the whole commotion.

Some players seem to believe that they have unknowingly entered a hacked lobby and then backed out to avoid getting caught up with cheaters. Unfortunately this is something that players cannot avoid, as they are directed to the lobbies via the in-game matchmaking mechanic. If this is true, Activision will most likely work on fixing those that have been banned unfairly. The trouble is, most real cheaters will probably not admit that they have cheated, and it may end up with thousands of players complaining about being banned, even if a large portion of banned players did deserve it.

If you got banned unfairly, expect quite a long waiting time before you get unbanned, however some players are already getting unbanned at the time of writing.
