  • Rumored COD prequel starring Ghost.

    Rumors: Ghost Reporting in

A Ghost-centered Call of Duty Prequel in the works? Well that's what's being talked about rumor-wise lately. A lot of rumors with that Infinity Ward is working on the next Call of Duty which will take part in the past and focus on MW2's Ghost and how he became a member of Task Force 141. While these are just rumors, Infinity Ward's Community Manager's Robert Bowling has not confirmed but has not denied anything.

In addition it looks like that since it is Infinity Ward, it could be likely that if the rumors were true, they will build it on the Modern Warfare 2 game engine. This is awesome if you ask me, because Ghost is one of my favorite characters from the COD series. He was cool-headed and took no guff even from gun-totting militia members in Brazil. So I'm looking forward to a game that stars the man who I call "The Chuck Norris" of the Call of Duty franchise.

  • Christopher Nolan confirms those rumors...

Christopher Nolan, the director of films like The Dark Knight and Inception, recently confirmed the rumors about a video game adaptation of Inception. How exciting! The movie was certainly a blockbuster this past summer, and as someone who loved the film I am definitely looking forward to be able to take the concept into my own hands.

Apparently, Nolan is going to be playing a big role in the development of the game. As quoted on IGN, Nolan stated, I always imagined Inception to be a world where a lot of other stories could take place. He denied any possibility of a movie sequel, saying that they would rather channel new potential stories through gaming instead. Inception could potentially make for a great video gaming franchise, complete with a variety of different characters, scenarios, and potentially different outcomes based on different decisions made in game play. I'd love to see an Inception game with vastly different endings based on varying choices and actions, perhaps a sort of "Butterfly Effect" version.

  • Kinect Rumors

    The Latest Rumors about Kinect!

On Monday, Microsoft combated rumors of a dwindling Kinect supply for the holiday season. Gossip was swirling about a potential retail drought, but Gamestop's SVP of Merchandising and Marketing Bob McKenzie announced that this has not been a problem.

McKenzie told IGN that the Kinect has exceeded their initial sales expectations but that Microsoft was sending out good and timely replenishing shipments to the stores.

According to McKenzie, this weekend brought in massive sales for the Kinect. However, he said very few stores are out of stock regardless and that Microsoft is doing quite well keeping up with supply and demand.

Unfortunately, no word has come out yet of numbers as to the current sales or shipping figures quite yet hopefully (and most likely) these numbers will exceed the half billion spent on marketing!

What are your thoughts, readers? Anyone play the Kinect yet? I personally loved it this may be the way I start getting my workouts! It's certainly much more fun than hitting the gym!

  • Bioshock 2 has the possibility of NO MULTIPLAYER

Rumors in Games - Bioshock 2 No Multiplayer for you!

    bioshock possible no mult

Ken Levine, the original creator of Bioshock has been leaning towards to removing online multiplayer in the next chapter of the epic series. Bioshock Infinite, which is to take place in the roaring 1910s and most likely a prequel, is going to be in the ranks of Metroid Prime, where being in a series that had multiplayer in one title of its series, then didn't have it in the next. While this isn't really set into stone for Bioshock Infinite, Ken Levine stated that adding multiplayer on games are both not all that interesting and can be a bit of a financial drain. He says that when people want to play multiplayer on consoles like the 360, they would rather play with a game that has a monopoly on online first person shooter multiplayer mode, such as Halo.

Mr. Levine has a point, in a sense. At times if a game isn't primarily designed around online multiplayer during its development, it is likely that it won't be an attention-getter. Most games that just slap on multiplayer to their games, do it at the last minute, or do such a poor job on it that feels like it was slapped on in the last minute.

I guess what Mr. Levine is trying to do is make us focus more on single player mode and not buy a game solely for the purpose of multiplayer where we focus more time on screaming at the guy from New Jersey who keeps mic spamming and hogging Big Daddy suit whenever it spawns instead of the rich full story in single player mode that keeps you coming back for more, and replaying on harder difficulties.

But, like I said before, it's not set into stone and we have until its unknown release date in 2012 to find out.

  • X-Box 360 Handheld Myth or Fact?

    Rumor: an X-Box Handheld?

X-Box is without question the most popular video game console, especially now with their recent release of the X-Box Kinect. However, there is one console X-Box/Microsoft has yet to develop in which competitor's like Nintendo and Sony have already developed and released and that is a Hand-held device. So, Nintendo has released the hand-held device called the Nintendo DS and Sony has released the PSP, both are very popular in terms of portable gaming device. Microsoft has an idea for a hand-held console which will obtain the name of X-Box 180, meaning it is "half of 360." The portable device Microsoft has in mind will have a large and small screen panel, similar to the DS. Also, it will feature the same colored buttons of yellow, red, green, and blue; the same concept as a 360 controller. The release date or even the creation of the portable device is still up for debate, even more so since the new the 360 has been released. However, X-Box users would definitely love to take their X-box games on the road and in the palm of their hands.
