EVIL CONTROLLERS PARTNERS WITH CHICAGO HIGH SCHOOLERS TO SAVE THE WORLD WITH GAMING

Tempe, AZ. (April 2011) – In the April spirit of going green, Evil Controllers is partnering with high school team Gamers Go Green from Chicagos Whitney M. Young High School to host the first-ever green Game Hour. Led by students Daniel Romero, Evan London, Noelanni Alvarez, Courtney Mills, Donte White, Adam He, and supported by the one and only Evil Controllers, Game Hour will occur on April 23, 2011.

But what is Game Hour? Its simple. On Saturday, April 23, at any selected hour of the day unique to each family, Evil Controllers and Gamers Go Green will ask everyone to abstain from the use of the electricity in their house. Sound familiar? Maybe, because something like it has been done before. But whats different about Game Hour is that during the time span, all families will be asked to sit down together and play a game, any game, and enjoy it together. Whether video games, board games, or any other type of game, electricity should only be used in a single room, and shut off everywhere else in the house. The gaming hour can take place at any time of the day, as long as it lasts for an entire hour, and it is suggested to occur during the day when natural light is available. As the 23rd is the day after Earth Day, Evil Controllers and Gamers Go Green want to highly encourage relaxing and spending quality time with your closest family while sparing the Earth some of its valuable resources. The purpose of all of this is to reduce to use of our resources and have fun while doing it, stated student leader, Daniel Romero. Our ultimate goal is to eventually make this a nationally advertised holiday like Earth day. Thats our idea and how wed like to do it.

At the end of the day, the Earth will greatly thank all participants, as will Gamers Go Green with their well deserved As in biology.

In order to keep track, Gamers Go Green and Evil Controllers will ask participants to click Like at the official Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/pages/Game-Hour/200003243365204. Evil Controllers and Gamers Go Green will also ask families to record video to upload to YouTube and post on the Gamers Go Green Facebook, or to take photos of their own Game Hour event to submit to the Facebook page, which will be made into a montage (or two) for Evil Controllers YouTube channel in gratitude to all participants.

Several other organizations are already on board to support Game Hour. In support of Gamers Go Green, professional gamer Fatal1ty will be hosting a green Game Hour himself, and will be posting videos about it on his website, Facebook, and YouTube. Optic Nation will be regularly reaching out to their networks in encouragement by posting videos on their YouTube channels. BHLGaming.com will be hosting an Xbox 360 Lights Out Tournament on Saturday, April 23rd as well at 5PM EST/10 PM GMT/2 PM PST. The tournament is a free-for-all event, open to everyone that signs up at BHLGaming.com/forums. A full overview of the tournament and rules can be found at http://BHLGaming.com/forums in the event section. Next, Gaming For the Cure will be hosting a tournament that same day, encouraging competitors to participate in the Green Gaming Hour by turning off all of the lights in their houses except for the room that they are playing in. Sign ups will be on http://www.gamingforthecure.org, with all proceeds benefiting St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. S.O.S. Gamers will be conducting its April Marvel vs. Capcom 3 tournament fundraiser in support of the March of Dimes Foundation. During the final hour of the tournament, S.O.S. Gamers will have all participants play out the final matches of the tournaments on one TV screen in support of Game Hour. Once the event is completed, S.O.S. Gamers will then host a smaller Super Smash Bros. Brawl session, where everyone in attendance will enjoy playing the game in one large room with all other electronic devices in the space shut off. SOS Gamers fan page is at http://www.facebook.com/SOSHQ.

On top of the efforts for going green, the Gamers Go Green Facebook will have a donation button with all proceeds benefiting AbleGamers, the disabled gamers resource and friends of Evil Controllers. Evil Controllers greatly thanks Gamers Go Green for the opportunity to partner with them to facilitate an innovative event for a great cause. Even though were Evil, we love to do good.

Help us support the Earth and save the world, one hour of gaming at a time.
