  • More Black Ops 3 Details Explained

black ops 3 details multiplayerTreyarch just keep spilling the beans on Black Ops 3, which is great because the game sounds like it’s going to be a lot different to previous games developed by them. Recently, Treyarch gave details on the Black Ops 3 Pick 10 system, ADS mechanics and more.

In Black Ops 2, the Pick 10 system was hugely praised by the COD community. Thankfully the Pick 10 system will be returning to Black Ops 3. Everything is mostly the same with the Pick 10 system, but there have been a few changes made to the way it works.

Firstly, the Wildcards will still be in Black Ops 3. Players can equip up to six different Wildcards but each Wildcard will take up a certain amount of points as per usual.

Interestingly, the entire attachment system will be different in Black Ops 3. Weapon optics are now placed in their own separate slot. If you use the right Wildcards you can equip up to five attachments onto a primary weapon, as well as an optic. Secondary weapons can have up to two attachments and an optic.

You can create your own weapons, attachments attached, in the new Gunsmith feature that will be added to Black Ops 3.

ADS has also been improved in Black Ops 3 so that aiming down the sights of a sniper is a lot smoother. Apparently powerful snipers will be balanced slightly to adjust to these new changes.

  • Black Ops 3 DLC Packs and Season Pass Details Leaked

black ops 3 dlc packsWhilst a lot of information about Black Ops 3 has been released officially, there is still a lot that Treyarch are waiting to reveal. Luckily, some details have already leaked, including details about the different DLC packs that will be in Black Ops 3.

Black Ops 3 will have 4 different DLC packs, all of which will be part of the season pass. As usual, the season pass can be purchased up front and will cost considerably less than it would to purchase each of the DLC packs separately as they are released.

Unfortunately we do not have details about what content will be in the Black Ops 3 DLC packs, although it could be possible that not even Treyarch are 100% sure at this point. Considering the full game hasn't even gone gold yet, it would make sense that DLC plans are not completely confirmed at this point.

If previous Call of Duty games are anything to go by, we can expect new maps from the DLC packs, along with new weapons and maybe some extra gun camos. There may be more customization options bundled into the DLC packs. Advanced Warfare also introduced a part-by-part zombies campaign that was split up into each DLC pack, and this may be the same for Black Ops 3.

Hopefully the standard zombies mode will be available alongside the base of the game, otherwise I think a lot of Call of Duty players will be very unhappy about Black Ops 3.

  • Black Ops 3 Announced

black ops 3Out of nowhere Treyarch has just announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be coming this year. The developer also released a small teaser trailer showing very little of anything besides the Black Ops logo.

Fortunately the teaser trailer does give us more information about when we can expect to hear more about Black Ops 3. According to the new trailer, there will be a worldwide reveal on Sunday, April 26.

So far, we haven’t seen any gameplay of Black Ops 3 and we don’t really know what to expect. The last title in the game was from Sledgehammer Games and this was the first time the development studio created a Call of Duty game without any external help. Some players seem quite excited to look forward to a new Black Ops title, whilst others are wishing Activision chose to go for a different Call of Duty era.

Considering Treyarch is still going down the futuristic Black Ops arch, it could be possible that the upcoming Black Ops title will come with some of the game content we saw in Advanced Warfare. It would be interesting to see the exo-suit abilities in Black Ops 3, although we can neither confirm nor deny whether this will happen or not.

Hopefully we will learn all about Black Ops 3 and what to expect from the game on April 26. The April reveal is a little earlier than usual so perhaps we’ll see Black Ops 3 release earlier than scheduled too.

  • Black Ops 2 "Uprising DLC Announced"

    BO2 Uprising DLC

Activision has now confirmed that the previously rumored Uprising downloadable content pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will reach Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The Xbox 360 will be receiving the DLC first, starting on April 16th, and will be followed by other platforms. The cost for the DLC pack will be 1200 Microsoft Points, or your currencies alternative, and of course will be free for those who have purchased a Black Ops 2 season pass previously.

Uprising will feature four multiplayer maps as well as a new "Mob of the Dead" Zombies game mode. Mob of the Dead will have players playing in Alcatraz with four actors behind some of Hollywood's most iconic mobsters, including Ray Liotta, Chazz Palminteri, Joe Pantoliano, and Michael Madsen.

Treyarch studio head, Mark Lamia made a statement about the game:

"With Uprising, the team has really outdone itself again. In addition to creating four amazing new multiplayer maps, the Studio has been hard at work on the Zombies front to surpass what we accomplished with 'Call of the Dead.' What they've done this time around is nothing Zombies fans have seen before -- and if you don't believe me, just wait until you get into Purgatory."

Are you interested in the new Uprising downloadable content pack? What are you most looking forward to?

  • Nuketown Zombies Map Available for Xbox Season Pass Holders

    Nuketown Zombies Map Pack Available!

If you already own, or are considering purchasing the Black Ops 2 season pass, you may want to check out the bonus map Treyarch and Activision are giving with the pass.

Previously only available to Collector's Edition owners, the Zombie Nuketown map will now be available for all Season Pass holders as well. The map is located within the Nuketown area which has been seen before in Black Ops 1. The level has been made for co-op play, and puts you in control of a group of well-equipped scientists wearing radioactive suits. The trailer for the map also shows destroyed buildings and access to the Pack-A-Punch.

If you want to buy the season pass, it'll set you back $49.99. This seems like quite a lot, but with it you'll be able to download 4 upcoming map packs for free when they are released, as well as the bonus Zombie Nuketown map, which when considering that each map will probably retail for $15 separately, the season pass does end up being cheaper.

"Nuketown Zombies is set during the events of Moon, and after the end of the multiplayer level from the original Black Ops game. A group of radiation scientists are investigating the Nuketown remains and discover soldiers that have been revived by Element 115 from a nearby Nevada base," the official page states. "The zombie soldiers attack the radiation scientists and turn them, and after receiving a distress signal, the base in Nevada sends in CIA and CDC agents to investigate. Upon arrival in Nuketown the agents lose communication with Hangar 18 and become stranded…setting the stage for Nuketown Zombies."

Currently Nuketown Zombies is only available for Xbox 360, but will be available for other platforms shortly. Don't forget that our Master Mod controller includes Auto Aim Zombies, Drop Shot and over 10 mods exclusively for Black Ops 2. Order this custom controller today to get the best deal!

  • Black Ops 2 - Zombie Mode to be Revealed

Treyarch is pretty much done revealing both their single player and multiplayer modes. Now we just have to wait for the reveal of their final mode which has gotten as popular as the multiplayer mode, yes I am talking about the Zombies mode.

The Zombies mode started out very simple in World at War and in Black Ops it got a major overhaul. Tryarch hasn't been shy about telling us what to expect from the Zombies mode in Black Ops 2, without letting us know too much that is. Based on what they have revealed, the improvement we are expecting to see in Black Ops 2 is HUGE.

On the 25th of August a very simple tweet was posted on the official Black Ops 2 Twitter page which quite clearly hints at the upcoming reveal. This is what it read, "Something's coming...". The tweet was posted along with the picture of a door stained with a bloody handprint. I guess this is a subtle enough hint towards the imminent full reveal of the Zombies mode in Black Ops 2.

This is what we know about the Zombies mode for now. It is going to have its own story mode. It will also have MUCH bigger levels than what we have seen in Black Ops. The biggest of the reveals thus far was the new mode that will allow a total of 8 players (two teams of 4 vs 4) to play together! From what we know for now, the objective of this mode will be to outlast the other team.

Surprisingly, the amount of fans (including me) excited for the new Zombies mode might just be equal to that looking forward to the multiplayer. I guess Treyarch understands that fact which is why they put this much effort overhauling Zombies. I wonder if Treayarch plans a huge reveal at the upcoming PAX West? Either way we can expect the official reveal pretty soon.

COD Black Ops 2 is sure shaping up to be a good one, even though every one of us had their doubts; an old engine, annual release etc. Well I guess we can find out for ourselves when it hits the stores on the 13th of October for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Be sure to keep a check on our site to stay posted on recent news about Black Ops 2.

  • COD Black Ops 2 - New Wildcards System Detailed

The new 10 point system Create-a-Class in Black Ops 2 has created a lot of buzz purely because it is such a big game changer. This is the first and biggest change made to the Create-a-Class system that the franchise has seen since COD4.

You guys might have heard about the Wildcard system that works along with Create-a-Class system but only recently more details were provided about that. As you can already guess, the Wildcard system is also a brand new addition to COD franchise.

Players spend the 10 points allotted to them when creating their class. Everything you select costs 1 point, ranging from perks to attachments for your weapons. What this system allowed developers to do was to balance the game according to each individual item instead of balancing each weapon mod for example.

As before, each weapon can only support a max of two attachments. Here is where one of the Wildcards come into play. The Wildcard called Primary Gunfighter allows players to equip an extra attachment to their weapons (3 in total). Equipping a Wildcard like this will also cost you 1 point.

In all the previous games there was never really a need to use three attachments to your weapons since the perks were the main factors behind weapon efficiency (e.g. slight of hand). But this time around, weapon performance is only improved via attachments so adding more attachments is definitely the way to go. For example, the attachment Fast Mags has replaced the perk Slight of Hand. Similarly, Laser Sight is the new Steady Aim.

The following is the list of ALL the Wildcards that you can expect to see in Black Ops 2:

    - Danger Close - Equip lethal grenade instead of tactical grenade (twice the amount of tactical grenades)
-Tactician - Equip tactical grenade instead of lethal grenade (twice the amount of tactical grenades)
-Primary Gunfighter - Equip 3rd attachment for primary weapon
-Secondary Gunfighter - Equip 3rd attachment for secondary weapon
-Overkill - Equip two primary weapons
-Perk 1 Greed - Equip more than one perk from Tier 1 perks
-Perk 2 Greed - Equip more than one perk from Tier 2 perks
-Perk 3 Greed - Equip more than one perk from Tier 3 perks

So as you can see, the addition of the Wildcards along with the new 10 point create-a-class system really adds a lot of variability to types of classes one can make. As Treyarch said, the new system is designed to allow players to make their classes according to their playing styles.

I really can't wait to see the diverse playing styles that are going to evolve due to this system. Check out the screenshot of the Wildcards below. Black Ops 2 is set to be released on the 13th of November for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. For more Black Ops 2 related news make sure to keep an eye on our site.

  • Medal of Honor: Warfigher Gets Linkin Park Involved

EA has made their marketing strategy clear. They want to beat the reigning champ, Call of Duty, or at least take a chunk out of its market share. Every first person shooter wants to be CoD and who can blame them? The money CoD rakes in every year is unbelievable.

Interestingly enough, this time EA is sticking to The Danger Close team making Medal of Honor Warfighter as grounded and real as possible in hope that it would attract the gamers. They believe that gamers who are looking for the authentic feel of a modern battlefield might prefer Warfighter over Black Ops 2. They have based this assumption on the fact that Treyarch has taken a very futuristic approach with BO2 which might not be well received by gamers. Some diehard CoD fans have actually voiced out their concerns regarding this in forums and blogs all over the internet.

If true, this could very well be MoH's year. It is obvious that MoH may surpasses BO2 thanks to its amazing Frostbite 2 engine. MoH is supposed to actually look better than even BF3. We have all stared at awe at one point or other at the destructive capability of the Frost Bite 2. To add to it all they have also represented 12 Tier 1 teams across 10 countries in Warfighter. EA and The Danger Close team are hoping that this might play to the patriotic side of players and get them involved in a whole new level, much like in Fifa.

Recently it was revealed that EA has gotten one of the most famous rock bands in the world, Linkin Park, involved in their project in an attempt to enhance the emotional and authentic military experience they are trying to deliver with MoH Warfighter.

Danger Close revealed their cross-collaboration with Linkin Park and that Mike Shanoda, co-lead vocalist and co-producer of Linkin Park, has already composed original in-game scores for MoH Warfighter which were specifically made to "add depth and emotion to an already intense gameplay experience."

EA also produced Linkin Park's new music video - Castle of Glass which will also be included in the game. Only time will tell how much of an effect this cross-collaboration would have on sales of MoH Warfighter. For now check out the following videos.

  • Black Ops 2 -Top 5 Multiplayer Features

Treyarch has repeated time and time again that they are going to make the whole Black Ops 2 experience epic and from what we have seen from GamesCom, they sure did keep their word. In this article I will bring to you what I feel were the top features of Black Ops 2 multiplayer (shown till now).

Class Creation - 10 Point System

Treyarch has completely redefined the create-a-class feature that has remained pretty much standard since the first Modern Warfare. They have implemented a new 10 Point System with which players can now build their class (points are used to equip weapons, equipments etc.). This system removes the restraints of having fixed number of grenades, equipments and weapons, and will essentially allow players to make their very own unique class that suits their playing style.

    Killstreaks replaced by Scorestreaks

Black Ops 2 will also be utilizing Scorestreaks instead of Killstreaks (similar to that seen in Modern Warfare 3). This system will allow players to collect points towards their rewards (care package etc.) in ways other than just killing enemies.

    New Scoresteak Rewards

New killstreak rewards are always fun. To go with the new scorestreak mechanic that they have implemented, Treyarch has provided several new scorestreak rewards that surpass the predecessors. Amongst the reward are

New Predator Missile-basically a scatter bomb which affects a larger area of the map

The Guardian-heat-based weapon which primarily incapacitates targeted enemies but also kills them if they are too slow to avoid it

Mech-a mech which is deployed on the battlefield and can be controlled by the player himself or be left on autopilot to search and kill enemies

    Performance of Weapons

This time around the weapon performance cannot be influenced with perks like Steady Aim, Sleight of Hand and Stopping Power. Instead in order to improve weapon performance players have to utilize the different attachments given e.g. Quickdraw-ergonomic handle for faster aiming. It is a pretty clear concept, attachments improve weapons, perks improve players.

    The Shoutcast

The new Shoutcast feature allows any multiplayer match to be streamed to anyone who would like to watch it. This feature also has an option to allow one to act as the commentator while they watch the game. This might not be a huge feature but still a cool one.

This could be a completely different way how players can interact with each other as well as add a new layer of detail for friends who play together. But most importantly this feature is going to be an asset in pro matches. One can learn a lot by watching pros do their thing.

As I said earlier, there is so much being revealed about Black Ops 2 that it is very hard to some up in one or even ten articles! But these for me are the top features that caught my eye. Keep an eye on our website as we list out more cool things about Black Ops 2 Multiplayer and Zombies mode in our future articles.

Be ready to dominate the competition when Black Ops 2 is released with our modded Xbox controllers.
