  • New Advanced Warfare DLC Available on Xbox One

    advanced warfare reckoning dlc

The latest Advanced Warfare DLC pack is now available on the Xbox One and the Xbox 360. As part of the exclusivity deal with Microsoft, the latest DLC will not be available on other platforms until next month.

The new DLC pack is called Reckoning and it features a variety of new content. Unfortunately Reckoning does not include a bonus weapon like previous DLC packs have, but it does include other exciting content.

In total, there are four new multiplayer maps in the Reckoning DLC pack and a new exo-zombies map. The first map is called Fracture and it features an ice digging facility located near one of the poles. You'll find yourself on a sinking ice cap that slowly sinks throughout each match.

Overload is the second map and this is located in the middle east. Players will find themselves fighting in a large, luxury hotel filled with all sorts of expensive items.

Quarantine is the third map and this places players on a disease ridden island. The map is very close quarters. Finally, Swarm is the last multiplayer map and this features a Korean suburb.

The new exo-zombie map is called Descent and this puts players on an island.

The new Reckoning DLC is part of the season pass but if you'd like to pick up the DLC without owning the season pass you will have to cough up $14.99.

Reckoning is the fourth and final DLC pack for Advanced Warfare. In the past, three other DLC packs have been released with extra maps, more exo-suit survival chapters and some extra weapons. Players can also pick up various cosmetic DLC packs but these are not available within the season pass.

  • Activision Says Call of Duty Remasters are Possible

    call of duty remaster

Whether you are looking forward to Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 or not, you can't deny that Activision has done a great job, alongside some of it's developers, to release a number of classic Call of Duty games in the past.

Some players may have the fondest of memories in Black Ops 1, whilst others remember spending their days on Modern Warfare 2. Some veterans out there may even tell you that their fondest memories were from Call of Duty 4.

Either way, there is a lot of nostalgia hiding in many of the older Call of Duty titles, and Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg understands that this is a great reason for remastered versions to be created.

Hirshberg mentioned that, "If done well, remasters can be great."

"You talk about nostalgia, and people have such connection to the games they love from the last cycle. They want to see what it would look like if someone did it right for this cycle."

Hirshberg even went on to say that a remastered collection for Call of Duty could certainly be possible, but it mainly comes down to whether Activision can have the time spare to focus on such a thing, instead of working on newer titles.

"We need everybody we can get to make the content we're already committed to for our new games. It's always a matter of finding great people to do that work. I would love to play Modern Warfare 1 or the original Black Ops. There's certainly a deep well there. No announcements, but it's something we talk about and think about a lot."

So, yes - a Call of Duty remastered collection? Activision are definitely thinking about it.

  • Xbox August Games with Gold Deals Announced

    august games with gold

The latest Games with Gold promotion for August has now been announced and Major Nelson has revealed four different games that will be available throughout August for both Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Like previous months, the Xbox 360 will be getting two games and the Xbox One will be getting two different games as well. Personally I think August's lineup may be one of the best we have ever seen so far.

Firstly, on Xbox 360 we have Metro 2033 available currently and it will remain available till August 15. On August 16, Metro 2033 will be replaced with Metro Last Light. Metro Last Light is a direct sequel of Metro 2033 so you'll be able to play through both games this month in order.

Each Metro game is a post apocalyptic themed first person shooter. As the title of the game would suggest, the majority of both games takes place inside the Metro system underneath Moscow.

The great deals are available on the Xbox One as well. Throughout the entirety of August, Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes will be available for free on the Xbox One. On August 16, How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition will be available until September 15.

This means that players can get their hands on both Metal Gear Solid V and How to Survive throughout August, but gamers will have to wait till August 16 before they can get their hands on How to Survive.

  • GTA Online Ill-Gotten Gains Part 2 Coming Next Week

    gta ill-gotten gains

The Ill-Gotten Gains update was released earlier in the year for GTA Online but Rockstar had already had plans at that time to release a part 2 of the Ill-Gotten Gains update. Rockstar has now announced that the second part of the update will be coming out next week.

Part 2 of the Ill-Gotten Gains update will be pushed out to Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC on July 8. Just like the first part of the update, the next Ill-Gotten Gains update will add a number of new clothing items, vehicles and other purchasable content.

The 2nd update will also add the new radio station, The Lab, to consoles. Previously The Lab was released on PC but it will now be pushed out to all other platforms as well.

So far Rockstar has not mentioned what content will be added to part 2 of the Ill-Gotten Gains update but it is assumed that we'll be hearing a bit more about exactly what we can expect a little closer to the release date. On top of the Ill-Gotten Gains update, an event will be held on the 4th of July that will add a number of Independance Day items. Last year, the same items were added to GTA Online before being taken down shortly afterwards.

If you'd like to get some fireworks, explosives, or even better, a firework launching rocket launcher, then definitely check out GTA Online on the 4th of July.

  • Xbox Games with Gold June Lineup Revealed

xbox games with goldThe new free games lineup for the Xbox Games with Gold June promotion has now been revealed by Microsoft and there are a number of free games Xbox Gold members will be able to pick up throughout the month.

Like previous months, players will be able to get one Xbox 360 during the first half of the month and another Xbox 360 game during the second half of the month. This month there will be two three Xbox One games, both of which can be downloaded throughout the entirety of June.

First up for the Xbox 360 lineup is Just Cause 2. Considering hype for Just Cause 3 has been blowing up recently, it seems like perfect timing to have a free access pass to Just Cause 2. Whilst the game may now be several years old, there's still dozens of hours worth of fun to be had in this game. You can download Just Cause 2 for free right now, although it will be swapped out with another game on June 15.

Starting June 16, Thief will be put up for free for Xbox 360 Gold members. Thief is much newer than Just Cause 2, although it certainly didn't perform as well in terms of sales. Even though Thief received quite bad press, there short story still holds some value, and we'd suggest trying it out, considering you can pick it up for free until June 30.

When it comes to the Xbox One, Pool Nation FX and Massive Chalice have both been put up for free download. Pool Nation is pretty much what it says on the tin - an arcade style pool table game.

Massive Chalice is a brand new title that has been released by Double Fine, the developers of Brutal Legend.

  • Goat Simulator is Now On Xbox One

goat simulator xbox oneHave you got some change to spare? If you do, you might want to throw it at Coffee Stain Studio's genius creation/abomination Goat Simulator. The hilarious bug filled game has now made it's way to the Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Whilst Coffee Stain Studios weren't in charge of the port, more than capable Double Eleven has managed to bring it to the Xbox platform without changing anything that broke away from that special Goat Simulation experience the PC version offered.

As you can imagine, Goat Simulator can only be picked up from the Xbox Store as a digital download. The game currently costs $9.99 for Xbox One and the Xbox 360. The objective of Goat Simulator is to take control of a goat and use his strangely sticky tongue to attach to objects and destroy the world around him.

The game is perhaps the most random non-game like monstrosity you'll ever lay your eyes on, and plenty of physics bugs have been left in the game to make it even more of a laugh to play through.

If you aren't so sure you'll be interested in Goat Simulator don't worry about picking it up just yet, the game has already seen plenty of sales on other platforms so I wouldn't be surprised if Double Eleven's port will be featured in some kind of sale in the future. Goat Simulator is better considered as a fun arcade that can be picked up for a fun afternoon indoors.

  • Huge Xbox One Spring Sale Begins

xbox one spring salesA giant Spring sale has just gone live for the Xbox and it includes deals for movies, games, TV and season passes for both the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One.

There may be different deals depending on your region, but there are major sales going in the United Kingdom and the United States right now.

On top of the great digital sales, which will be held throughout the week, there is a brand new special trade-in offer that will allow Xbox 360 owners to trade in their console with a 250GB hard drive for a $125 off coupon for an Xbox One at Gamestop.

Pool Nation FX has also gone live as a free Games with Gold title on the Xbox One, along with Child of Light and Rayman Legends. Over on the Xbox 360 Gears of War Judgement and Terraria are available for free this month. Usually only three games are available each month through the Games with Gold program but this month five games are up for grabs as a way of celebrating the Xbox's most recent success.

In other news, Microsoft posted a new video to their Xbox Youtube channel that shows off launch events for Gears of War 3 that were held across the world. It was a bit odd for Microsoft to upload a video like that now, and many are assuming that a brand new Gears of War remaster may be coming. Could this latest video be some sort of hint towards a new Xbox One Gears of War game?

  • Goat Simulator is Coming to Xbox

goat simulator xboxI've got the exact news you've been wanting to hear. Coffee Stain Studios have announced that Goat Simulator will be coming to the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One. Worthy of more than a few game of the year awards, Goat Simulator is an incredibly realistic simulation game that gives you an unprecedented view into the life of a goat.

There are just no other animal sims out there that quite match the prowess of Goat Simulator, and Microsoft made a very good choice allowing Coffee Stain Studios to bring it to the Xbox One and the Xbox 360.

If you've seen the game, you'll of course no everything above is just a little far from the truth. Goat Simulator is actually a strangely put together sandbox game that gives you access to a world of physics based environments. The whole fun of Goat Simulator is to basically see what kind of crazy things you can make happen with a goat and a world of objects that react crazily when hit into.

The game is filled with all sorts of glitches, but Coffee Stain wanted it to be this way - the game is meant to be taken lightly, and is just a bit of fun to have when you have a few minutes to spare.

So far, we don't have any details about the exact release date of Goat Simulator or the price, but we do know that the game will be releasing at some point in April.

  • Games with Gold Deals Announced for March

games with gold marchXbox has just announced their new lineup of free games for Xbox Live Gold members, and it's looking like a pretty good month. All three of the games available in March will be absolute amazing games, and there's no doubt that players will be happy about these titles.

Firstly, the Xbox One game that will be featured this month for free is Rayman Legends. This is a game that features the one and only Rayman in a new platformer experience. Rayman Legends is definitely one of the best platformers available in recent years, and I expect a lot of players will be happy to pick it up if they haven't yet.

As for the Xbox 360, two games have been lined up for March, and as per usual, one game will be available for the first half of the month, before being removed and replaced with another game on the second half of March.

Starting on March 1st, Tomb Raider, the latest reboot of the action adventure series will be put up for free. Considering the new Xbox One exclusivity deal with the next upcoming Tomb Raider game, it makes sense that Microsoft have managed to put up Tomb Raider for free.

Xbox players are definitely missing out on the action that Nathan Drake delivers on PS4, so this could be a great free alternative this month.

Finally, on March 16th, Tomb Raider will be replaced with Bioshock Infinite, the much more colorful, but equally as haunting sister of the first two Bioshock games. Bioshock Infinite is an absolute gem, so it's definitely worth downloading when you can.

  • New Updates Made to Keep Battlefield 4 Going Strong

battlefield 4 2015Even though Battlefield Hardline is just around the corner, Dice do not want players to feel the need to jump ship every time there is a new Battlefield game at your local Gamestop. In fact, new details reveal Dice's plan to keep Battlefield 4 going strong throughout 2015, and perhaps even further than that.

Dice already announced that additional content was planned for Battlefield 4 passed the pre-planned DLC packs, and this week we've received more information about what this new content will include.

The most expensive thing to come out of the new update is that Battlefield 4 players will be treated to two new expansions, hopefully planned for this year. To make things better, most, if not all of the new content pushed out this year should be available for no charge, even for those that have not spent a penny past the original cost of the game.

Part of the reason why the new content may be free might come down to a new initiative that Dice will be opening up to their community soon. Using the community test environment, Dice will work alongside players to create, edit and fine tune a Battlefield 4 map that will be completely community-driven.

The first new update for 2015 will launch in March, with a few changes to player collision and the squad obliteration mode. It sounds as if EA's tight grip on Battlefield 4 may now have died out, and that's giving Dice a big chance to show the world they still care about their community. I can't wait to see what comes out of 2015.
