  • Original Xbox Games Finally Available On Xbox One

original xbox games xbox one xThe Microsoft hype train really is building up speed. The Xbox One X is set to launch next month and a number of original Xbox games are now finally available on the Xbox One.

To begin with, a total of 13 original Xbox games have been brought to the Xbox One. All of these titles are now playable on the latest console from Microsoft.

If you have an old physical copy of any of the games listed below, you'll be able to put in the disc and play it on your Xbox One. If you don't have a physical copy, don't worry, Microsoft is also selling digital copies of each game for $9.99.

We have provided the full list of original Xbox games now available on the Xbox One X below:

    • Black
    • BloodRayne 2
    • Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge
    • Dead to Rights
    • Ninja Gaiden Black
    • Fuzion Frenzy
    • Grabbed by the Ghoulies
    • The King of Fighters Neowave
    • Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
    • Psychonauts
    • Red Faction 2
    • Sid Meier's Pirates!
    • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

It's great to see some of these titles make their way to the Xbox One. Previously, some of these titles couldn't be played on anything but the original Xbox, which was a huge shame because this list includes a huge number of absolute classics.

I personally can't wait to get started with Ninja Gaiden Black. What are your thoughts? Are there any games on this list that you'd like to replay? Perhaps you haven't played any of these games yet and you'd like to try some of them out for the first time?

  • Some Xbox 360 Games to Get Xbox One X Visual Upgrade Treatment

xbox 360 games xbox one xWith the Xbox One X set to storm the world next month, Microsoft is gearing up their game library by releasing visual updates. Surprisingly, even some older Xbox 360 games available on the Xbox One X via backward compatibility are set to get the visual upgrade treatment.

According to Xbox, a number of Xbox 360 backward compatible games will be getting an upgrade to support a higher resolution, 9X the original pixel count, and expanded color details.

This upgrade allows to improve game visual quality without touching the game code in any way. It's called the Heutchy Method and "leverages the power of Xbox One X to let the Xbox 360 emulator present the very best version of the game possible with the existing assets--all without touching the game code."

The number of games to get upgraded visual support is quite limited so far. The Xbox 360 games available for an Xbox One X visual upgrade are Assassin's Creed, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Halo 3.

Halo 3 isn't the only Halo game to get visual upgrades in preparation for the Xbox One X launch. Halo: The Master Chief Collection is also getting a visual upgrade - this game collection includes all Halo games from Combat Evolved to Halo 4.

Microsoft also has lots of plans to improve the graphical fidelity of other Halo games in the near future too.

While we don't know whether Microsoft will release visual updates for any more Xbox 360 games, we do know that the company is planning to release many visual updates for existing Xbox One titles.

  • Keyboard/Mouse Is Coming to Xbox One

keyboard mouse xbox oneFor those that forget or were unaware, Microsoft is still working on bringing mouse and keyboard support to the Xbox One. In fact, they're so close that they're almost ready to announce the first title to support mouse and keyboard support.

Director for Xbox, Mike Ybarra, recently spoke at a PAX West panel and answered some questions about the progress of keyboard and mouse support for the Xbox One.

They mentioned that the feature is still coming, but they need to be careful about how they implement it. They made it clear that they understand players are concerned about the unfairness of going up against somebody with a keyboard and mouse, so they'll make it a mission to ensure developers have guidelines in place.

With these guidelines, it will be down to the developer to decide whether they add keyboard and mouse support for their games. Developers are also encouraged to give those with a controller the option to only play with other people with a controller. It'll be the same for those that have a keyboard and mouse so that players can be given an equal playing field.

For games that don't have competitive multiplayer, for example, a single player or a co-op game, keyboard and mouse support can be added without the need for a system such as the one mentioned above.

The Xbox team will give developers the opportunity to be coached on how to implement a fair system if a developer does decide to add keyboard and mouse support for their Xbox One title.

  • Xbox One X Pre-Orders To Open Soon

xbox one x preordersIf you've been keeping an eye on the Xbox One X, formally known as the Xbox Scorpio, then you'll know that the console is set to hit homes around the world very soon.

While Xbox is planning to push out the Xbox One X to retailers as soon as possible, pre-orders for the new console have not yet been opened.

Thankfully, Xbox's Phil Spencer has confirmed that he plans to bring the Xbox One X pre-order page online very soon. Phil Spencer took to Twitter to write, "Our plan is set for this. All approvals are done so now just landing the announce with all the info, won't be too much longer."

This means that the Xbox One X should be on sale very soon. With all of the hype that's lead up to the Xbox One X, we wouldn't be surprised if the console sells out very quickly, so you may want to keep an eye out on Phil Spencer's Twitter page for more updates.

The Xbox One X is set to launch on November 7 across the globe. The console will be going for $500 USD. Other countries will sell it for their own prices, with the UK selling it for 449 GBP and Australia selling it for $659 AU as an example.

Recently, it was revealed that the Xbox One X will be Xbox's smallest console yet, despite it also being the most powerful. The Xbox One X can also stand on its side, just like the Xbox 360. This feature was also introduced to the Xbox One S.

for honor betaA new open beta has been planned for For Honor, so if you're interested check out the details in this article.

Ubisoft has confirmed that the dates for the open beta will be from February 9 to February 12. During these dates, the beta will be playable. The upcoming open beta will include the game modes from the previous beta, as well as a few new inclusions.

Making a debut will be the Elimination mode - in this mode, players will be placed on two teams of four. The objective is simple - eliminate the players on the other team. • Available Xbox One Elite Controllers

xbox one eliteGetting your hands on any available Xbox One Elite controllers has proven tricky. Availability has always been an issue, forcing those interested into purchasing specific bundles and console packages.

In this article we've shared some of the different ways Xbox One owners can get their hands on an Xbox Elite Controller.

    Through Xbox.com

The easiest way to get an Elite Controller is from the Xbox.com website - if they have any in stock. On the shop on the xbox.com website, standalone controllers can be found for $149.99. Other details about what the controllers can do, and how they can benefit competitive play and esports can also be found here.

    Xbox One Elite Bundle

If you are in the market for a new Xbox One, the Xbox One Elite bundle may appeal to you. Not only is it another route to go for a custom Xbox One controller, but it ends up being an incredibly valuable deal as well. For example, the Microsoft store currently lists the 1TB variant of the bundle for just $229 - this bundle includes the 1TB Xbox One console and an Xbox Elite wireless controller.

    Alternative Options

If you can't find the Xbox One Elite controller on the official Xbox and Microsoft websites, your next best bet is to visit places like Amazon, GameStop or eBay. Any other local retailers may also have some in stock.

Alternatively, you could skip getting an Xbox One Elite controller completely and instead opt for custom Xbox One controller with additional features and personalization options.

    Limited Xbox One Elite Controllers

Microsoft themselves have offered a few Xbox One Elite Controller Bundles, but for the most part they lack variety. The Gears of War Elite Controller was available for a limited time, but is now only available for $300+ dollars from resellers.

Customize a Brand New Xbox One Elite Controller

Thankfully we have your back. We understand that owning a one-of-a-kind controller with all of the special features you would like is extremely important. While we do offer our own Pro Controllers with features that we believe our superior to the standard Microsoft Xbox One Elite Controller model, we think the option for an Evil Pro Controller or an Evil Customized Elite Controller should be your decision to make, not ours.

You can learn about our Pro Controllers, or you can order a customized Elite Controller.

    Modding Your Elite Controller

If you already have an Elite Controller, but would like it modified with our Master Mod or with a custom shell, our Xbox One Elite Controller Send In Service is available. Starting at $109.99 we add our Master Mod to your controller. The most elegant aspect of our service is that it leaves your 2nd profile completely unmodded. Profile 1 features all of the mods you love, rapid fire, drop shot, fast reload, etc. However, if you want to play a game in which our mods are not available, you can quickly disable all features by sliding the controller to Profile 2.

If you have any questions about our modded Xbox One Elite controllers feel free to give us a call at 1-877-880-3845 or send us an email here: https://evilcontrollers.zendesk.com/hc/en-us

In other news, it has been revealed that the REQ bundles in Halo 5 have managed to push the total prize pool for the Halo World Championship to $2.5 million. This means that the prize pool awarded to the first place team will be $1 million.

According to Xbox, the $1 million first place prize is the biggest in console eSports history and additionally this $1 million first place prize is as big as the initial prize pool was before the REQ pack microtransactions helped add an extra $1.5 million. The prize pool has now been locked in so it will not budge any more past the current $2.5 million.

  • Goat Simulator is Now On Xbox One

goat simulator xbox oneHave you got some change to spare? If you do, you might want to throw it at Coffee Stain Studio's genius creation/abomination Goat Simulator. The hilarious bug filled game has now made it's way to the Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Whilst Coffee Stain Studios weren't in charge of the port, more than capable Double Eleven has managed to bring it to the Xbox platform without changing anything that broke away from that special Goat Simulation experience the PC version offered.

As you can imagine, Goat Simulator can only be picked up from the Xbox Store as a digital download. The game currently costs $9.99 for Xbox One and the Xbox 360. The objective of Goat Simulator is to take control of a goat and use his strangely sticky tongue to attach to objects and destroy the world around him.

The game is perhaps the most random non-game like monstrosity you'll ever lay your eyes on, and plenty of physics bugs have been left in the game to make it even more of a laugh to play through.

If you aren't so sure you'll be interested in Goat Simulator don't worry about picking it up just yet, the game has already seen plenty of sales on other platforms so I wouldn't be surprised if Double Eleven's port will be featured in some kind of sale in the future. Goat Simulator is better considered as a fun arcade that can be picked up for a fun afternoon indoors.

  • Xbox Live downed by Hackers Again

xbox live hackersThis week Xbox Live went down across the world and players were having trouble with connecting to the online service for a few hours. Whilst Microsoft did not explain what the issue was, a hacker group has already claimed that they were responsible for the shutdown.

Last year Microsoft dealt with a large hacking problem around Christmas time and it stopped a lot of people from connecting to the Xbox Live servers for a few days. Whilst the latest attack was no way near as severe, it still shows that Microsoft's servers are still vulnerable to attack and this is causing a disruption to the service Microsoft provides to Xbox players.

The hacker group claiming responsibility for the latest hacker attack is named TeamBudyBear and they have made statements on their Twitter to explain the attack.

"We're doing these attacks to show everyone how bad big company's care about security. We as teenagers know how to fix their servers. Pathetic."

Whilst TeamBudyBear are not using their technological expertise for any good, what they're saying does have an air of truth to it. If Microsoft's security was any better, none of these attacks from hackers would be possible. In fact, it's almost a little disappointing to see that despite the huge hacker issue from last year, hackers still find it incredibly easy to bring down Microsoft's servers.

For the time being all of Microsoft's services are now working as intended and it looks like the attacks from TeamBudyBear have stopped.
