  • The Disgaea Triple Play Collection has Launched

    triple play collection

NIS America has revealed a brand new collection that features three different Disgaea titles and it has already made it's way to Europe in anticipation for the release of Disgaea 5 on October 9.

The new Triple Play Collection features Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice, Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten, and Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness. The game collection is available physically in-store and all three games are all available on one single disc.

All three games were originally released for the PlayStation 3 and the Triple Play Collection has also been made for the PlayStation 3. Unfortunately a PS4 port has not been mentioned yet so if you'd like to play the Triple Play Collection you'll have to dust off your PS3.

All three games lead on from each other so you'll be able to play through each one and keep track of the story as you do. If you pick up the Disgaea Triple Play Collection now you should be finished in time for Disgaea 5 on October 9.

The new Triple Play Collection will set you back 39.99 EUR if you're in Europe or £39.99GBP if you're in the United Kingdom. So far a release for North American markets has not yet been announced.

We'll make sure to keep you updated on any news for a North American release. Hopefully the Triple Play Collection will be available for North America soon. Either way, Disgaea 5 will be available for both Europe and North America on October 9.

  • Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance's Battle System Gets Explained

    Disgaea 5

NIS America has sent out a new press release revealing the new battle system that will be coming to Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance.

In Disgaea, there will be three different systems that have been added to the game. Below, we've gone into detail about the Disgaea 5 battle systems.

Alliance Attacks: Building on the idea of Team Attacks, the main characters of Disgaea 5 have access to a new attack system called Alliance Attacks which allows them to team up with a specific teammate to deal massive damage!

Revenge Mode: Another new addition to the battle mechanics of the Disgaea series, the Revenge Mode, allows you to power up your characters when their allies take damage or are defeated. Revenge Mode also unlocks powerful new abilities for your characters called Overloads.

Overloads: Each Overlord has a number of unique special skills with completely over-the-top, and awe-inspiring animations to assault your foes. These new attacks can only be used by a character who has entered Revenge Mode.

Disgaea 5 will be the sixth title in the Disgaea franchise and it looks like NIS has improved upon a lot of areas from the previous game. In Disgaea 5, players will take control of Killia and his army of rebels as he attempts to stop the new Overlord named Void Dark.

For those interested, Disgaea 5 will be available both in a physical and digital format in North America on October 6 and Europe on October 9. Disgaea will be available exclusively on PlayStation 4.

  • No More Pip-Boy Fallout 4 Editions Coming

    pip-boy fallout 4

Whilst the Pip-Boy collector's edition of Fallout 4 seemed like a big gimmick for a lot of gamers, it clearly is no joke to any Fallout fans out there. In fact, there will be no more Pip-Boy editions available for sale because they've all sold out.

Some rumors have circulated that Bethesda has purposely artificially limited the stock of the Fallout 4 collector's edition but Bethesda has opened up about the Pip-Boy and the truth is actually completely the opposite from this.

Despite Bethesda trying to increase production of the Pip-Boy as much as possible, the Fallout 4 Collector's Edition still sold out and Bethesda can no longer get hold of any more. In an interview with Gamespot, Bethesda's Pete Hines explained that, "We reached a point where we'd go back to the factories and they were like, 'guys, this is it, sorry.'"

When talking about keeping in touch with the factories responsible for production of the Pip-Boy, Hines mentioned, "We'd go back and say 'Demand for this is insane, we've got to make more.'"

Unfortunately the factories just couldn't keep up with production. Pete Hines stated that the factories eventually said, "'Sorry, this is as many as we can make.' And we sold every single one of those that we could."

So, there we have it. Despite Bethesda's best attempts, the Collector's Edition of Fallout 4 has managed to sell immensely quickly and your only chance at picking up a Pip-Boy is to wait for the game release and pick up a copy from eBay, where you'll most likely be met with prices that far exceed the actual original price of the Collector's Edition, which was set at $119.99.

  • Terminator Will Be Featured in WWE 2K16 As Guest Character

    terminator in wwe 2k16

WWE 2K16 is going to get what might just be the toughest guest character the franchise has ever seen. As you can imagine, a lot of players are getting super hyped up about the new guest character.

As the title suggests, the latest WWE title will see the Terminator as a guest character but unfortunately it will be limited to those that pre-order the game.

The news was revealed as part of a brand new release trailer for WWE 2K16. In the release trailer, a live action segment of Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator is shown. The live action seen is a recreation of the bar scene from Terminator 2 and this time round the characters have been replaced with WWE wrestlers. On top of Arnold Schwarzenegger himself, the trailer features Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose, Paige and Eva Marie, as well as Finn Balor, who will be making his debut in WWE 2K16.

The trailer doesn't show Arnie in game so we don’t know how much of a resemblance his in-game character will have of him or exactly what appearance the Terminator will be given.

In other news, the WWE 2K16 lineup will not feature Hulk Hogan after the wrestler basically destroyed his career over racist comments made towards his daughter. It looks as if Hogan will absolutely have no affiliation with WWE in the future, both in-game and out.

The Wikipedia page for WWE 2K16 has the game listed for an October 27 release in North America and an October 30 release for Europe. The same page also suggests that WWE 2K16 will have over 120 unique playable characters, nearly double the 67 that were in last year's game.

  • New Advanced Warfare DLC Available on Xbox One

    advanced warfare reckoning dlc

The latest Advanced Warfare DLC pack is now available on the Xbox One and the Xbox 360. As part of the exclusivity deal with Microsoft, the latest DLC will not be available on other platforms until next month.

The new DLC pack is called Reckoning and it features a variety of new content. Unfortunately Reckoning does not include a bonus weapon like previous DLC packs have, but it does include other exciting content.

In total, there are four new multiplayer maps in the Reckoning DLC pack and a new exo-zombies map. The first map is called Fracture and it features an ice digging facility located near one of the poles. You'll find yourself on a sinking ice cap that slowly sinks throughout each match.

Overload is the second map and this is located in the middle east. Players will find themselves fighting in a large, luxury hotel filled with all sorts of expensive items.

Quarantine is the third map and this places players on a disease ridden island. The map is very close quarters. Finally, Swarm is the last multiplayer map and this features a Korean suburb.

The new exo-zombie map is called Descent and this puts players on an island.

The new Reckoning DLC is part of the season pass but if you'd like to pick up the DLC without owning the season pass you will have to cough up $14.99.

Reckoning is the fourth and final DLC pack for Advanced Warfare. In the past, three other DLC packs have been released with extra maps, more exo-suit survival chapters and some extra weapons. Players can also pick up various cosmetic DLC packs but these are not available within the season pass.

  • Infection Should Come to Master Chief Collection

    master chief collection infection

Infection is a game mode in the Halo franchise that has been around since Halo 2. Since then it's gone through various changes and in the latest version of Halo, infected players now appear as the flood.

Whilst infection has been in practically every version of Halo, the game mode has not yet been added to the Master Chief Collection. However, if the latest news from 343 Industries is anything to go by then the game mode should be coming to MCC soon as well.

In the latest weekly blog post on Halo Waypoint, 343 Industries detailed their upcoming plans for the Master Chief Collection, whilst hinting at an upcoming Infection update.

"The playlist team continues to work on future updates, and it's quite likely that we'll be talking more about things like Infection in the coming weeks," 343 Industries stated in their blog post. For those unfamiliar with the infection game type in Halo - it works similarly to the standard FPS 'zombies' or 'infection' mode that has been in first person shooters for years.

The majority of players start as clean, non-infected participants and a small selection of players are randomly chosen to be the infected participants at the start of each round. The infected players must attempt to 'infect' other players by killing them. The infected have infinite lives, but non-infected players only have life before they're moved over to the infected team.

In the Halo version of Infection, the last living player gets extra bonuses such as an overshield to help them survive the oncoming infected hordes.

  • Witcher 3 1.08 Patch Incoming

    witcher 3 1.08

The Witcher 3 will be getting another large patch in the near future and it will include a number of gameplay changes. The latest upcoming update is patch 1.08 and CD Projekt Red has talked a little bit about what the patch will consist of.

Whilst CD Projekt Red hasn't yet given a release date, the developer has mentioned that the update is "coming soon." Whilst all platforms are getting the same treatment in terms of new patches, the newest updates often make their way to PC first, and are then released on console after they go through an approval process.

Perhaps the most exciting change in patch 1.08 is the inclusion of "preparatory changes" for the New Game Plus mode. Whilst New Game Plus won't be added in 1.08, CD Projekt Red are leading up to releasing it.

Other than various fixes and tweaks, the mean changes are within the gameplay section of the patch notes and they can be read below.

    • Fixes a rare issue where items would disappear from the stash.
    • Fixes a very rare issue which would cause Geralt to get stuck when trying to run.
    • The interaction pop-up will no longer appear on lootable objects that are empty.
    • Fixes an occasional glitch in one of the dwarf combat animations.
    • Heads chopped off during finishers will no longer disappear.
    • Players can perform a roll just before landing to significantly reduce the damage caused by falling.
    • We've added a tutorial pop-up window explaining this to make it clearer.
    • In patch 1.07, the level requirements for certain items were scaled up, leaving some players stuck with only unusable gear. With patch 1.08, we are introducing the Wolven Hour potion. This potion will be available in everyone's inventory once they install the patch. It will reduce level requirements on all gear for a period of one hour. This will give players time to level up or find alternative equipment using the gear that was available to them in patch 1.05 but became unusable after patch 1.07. After one hour, the potion's effects will cease and the requirements for all gear will revert to their original, pre-potion values.
    • Fixes an issue where players were unable to compare their items with ones sold by merchants.
  • Activision Says Call of Duty Remasters are Possible

    call of duty remaster

Whether you are looking forward to Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 or not, you can't deny that Activision has done a great job, alongside some of it's developers, to release a number of classic Call of Duty games in the past.

Some players may have the fondest of memories in Black Ops 1, whilst others remember spending their days on Modern Warfare 2. Some veterans out there may even tell you that their fondest memories were from Call of Duty 4.

Either way, there is a lot of nostalgia hiding in many of the older Call of Duty titles, and Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg understands that this is a great reason for remastered versions to be created.

Hirshberg mentioned that, "If done well, remasters can be great."

"You talk about nostalgia, and people have such connection to the games they love from the last cycle. They want to see what it would look like if someone did it right for this cycle."

Hirshberg even went on to say that a remastered collection for Call of Duty could certainly be possible, but it mainly comes down to whether Activision can have the time spare to focus on such a thing, instead of working on newer titles.

"We need everybody we can get to make the content we're already committed to for our new games. It's always a matter of finding great people to do that work. I would love to play Modern Warfare 1 or the original Black Ops. There's certainly a deep well there. No announcements, but it's something we talk about and think about a lot."

So, yes - a Call of Duty remastered collection? Activision are definitely thinking about it.
