  • Gran Turismo Sport Getting Free Demo

gran turismo sport demo ps4If you're not sure if you'll be interested in the upcoming Gran Turismo Sport racing game for the PlayStation 4, you may want to give the free demo a try.

Sony has confirmed that PS4 owners will be able to give Gran Turismo Sport a test run for free from October 9 until October 12. This will essentially follow the same beta pre-release model many triple-A publishers have been following in recent years.

If you're a PS Plus member, you'll get more time than those without PS Plus. Firstly, PS Plus members will be given the option to preload the Gran Turismo Sport demo before its starting date on October 9. They'll also be able to get started on October 9 at 12 AM, while non-Plus members must wait until 6 PM.

The preload period for PS Plus members will start on October 7. Players who earn money or unlock cars in the Gran Turismo demo can also transfer their progress to the full release later in the month on October 17.

All car unlocks can be transferred to the full game and in-game earnings up to $1,000,000 can also be transferred.

In the demo, three different modes will be available. These modes are Sport Mode, Arcade, and Campaign. Arcade mode is described as "a wide range of vehicle classes on three pre-selected circuit configurations with different terrains." This mode also supports two-player split screen.

Sport mode challenges players to achieve the best lap time possible, whereas Campaign mode gives players a career to progress through that'll include a series of races, challenges, and Daily Workouts.

  • NBA 2K18 Prelude Demo Available for Free

nba 2k18 prelude demoIf you're not getting excited for NBA 2K18 yet, the new Prelude demo might get you interested.

The Prelude demo is available for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners and will give players a chance to try out NBA 2K18 for free in anticipation of the game's impending release.

With Prelude, players get to dip their feet in the new MyCareer mode. Players will also be given the opportunity to test out the Neighborhoods mode.

In Neighborhoods, players are given access to an online social space where they can interact with other players, challenge others to games, and play various activities, some of which can improve their player's stats.

Interestingly, the developers are letting players keep hold of the progress they make during the Prelude demo. If you improve your character's stats, change your character's appearance, or make any other progress, it'll stay with your account when you purchase and play the full game.

NBA 2K18 is set to launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC on September 19. However, those who have preordered the game are given the opportunity to play the game four days earlier on September 15.

Are you interested in NBA 2K18 and the new MyCareer and MyPark changes? If you're on the fence, we'd suggest giving the Prelude demo a download. It's free to download and play and will be available up until NBA 2K18 launches later this month.

  • Resident Evil 7 Demo Now Free for All

    resident-evil-7-demo

PS4 owners have been getting a lot of exclusive sneak peaks at Resident Evil 7 recently, and a new update on the PSN store suggests that they'll be getting even more Resident Evil 7 first looks soon.

In a new PlayStation blog post, Capcom's social media specialist Kellen Haney wrote the following,

"Hello again PlayStation fans! Lots of you are familiar with what we've shown of Resident Evil 7 so far, from the first phone ring of the reveal trailer to the desperation of a mysterious woman on a frantic escape from a derelict mansion. Now we're back with an exciting and disturbing new trailer, news about the RE7 Teaser: Beginning Hour demo, and more!"

The biggest news to hit from the new blog post is that the Resident Evil 7 demo has been updated with new content and it will now be available to all PlayStation 4 owners, even those that do not have a PS Plus subscription. Here's what Haney had to say about it:

"We've just announced a new update for the demo, the Twilight version update, which expands on what you can do and explore. The update will be available starting tomorrow, September 15th. That's not all - this demo will be available for every PlayStation 4 user, meaning that PlayStation Plus is no longer required to gain access to the plantation house and dig into the mansion's mysteries. Now is your chance to investigate on your own, as both newcomers and veterans of Beginning Hour will be able to see what's changed in the run-down rooms and decrepit corridors."

It seems as if Capcom are really pushing to make Resident Evil 7 the game that brings the franchise back into the spotlight again. From what we've seen so far it's certainly looking like it could be an excellent title.

  • Gameplay for Final Fantasy XV Released

final fantasy xv gameplayAt Tokyo Game Show this month, Square Enix revealed a gameplay trailer for their upcoming Final Fantasy title, FF XV.

Whilst the developers have been working on the latest Final Fantasy game since May 2006, it has been a while since we've heard much about being able to finally get our hands on Final Fantasy XV. However, the new gameplay trailer for Final Fantasy XV at the Tokyo Game Show revealed that players would be able to get access to a full one hour gameplay demo of the game.

Redemption codes for the game demo of Final Fantasy XV will be provided inside copies of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, and players will be able to redeem their game demo codes in March next year.

Whilst the main story will give players up to one hour of gameplay, Square Enix mentioned that the demo also comes with around 3 hours of other gameplay if the game demo is fully explored and each dungeon is visited.

The game demo will mainly focus on battling within the game, not giving player's much choice or exposure to the story or the RPG elements of Final Fantasy XV.

I'll have to say, from the gameplay trailer, Final Fantasy XV is looking very good, and I expect a lot of fans will be excited for the March 2015 game demo launch. Do you still have much interest for the Final Fantasy franchise after all these years, and if not, has the new gameplay video of Final Fantasy XV managed to impress you at all?

  • Gran Turismo 6 Demo Now Available to Play

If you're looking forward to Gran Turismo 6, then you should probably go and check out the playable demo that arrived this July 2nd.

On the demo you'll be able to race on the brand new track, Silverstone Circuit, a new previously confirmed location for Gran Turismo 6. This will be the only track available on the demo, and there will be a few different challenges to try on the track. This includes five time trials based around the Silverstone Circuit, which players will be able to attempt with three different vehicles, the Nissan Leaf, the Nissan 370Z and the GT-R.

On top of this, players will be able to try their best on the Silverstone Circuit and then register their best time for the GT Academy Competition, a contest that has been going since 2008 that gives players a chance to race to the top spot and win the chance at being a real Nissan motorsport driver. The cutoff for getting the best time for that ends 28th July but players can still play the demo after the 28th and up until the 31st of August.

The GT6 demo is only 1072MB, so whether you enjoy Gran Turismo or not, there's no reason why you can't go and try out the free demo available on the PlayStation store.

  • God of War Ascension Playable Demo

    New Playable Demo

If you're looking to play a hands-on gameplay demo of the new God of War ascension, then it may come as good news to you that the Blu-ray edition of Total Recall, a reboot of the 1990 Sci-Fi adventure of the same name, will include a downloadable demo for the new God of War game.

Although at this point we're uncertain of what will unfold within the demo, the SCEA product marketing manager, Anthony Caiazzo, has said, "The demo includes the new gameplay mechanics and combat systems we showed off earlier this summer, so you can get a taste of all of the brutal action before the game launches next March."

The new God of War, which is set to release in early March 2013, will follow Kratos as he attempts to sever ties with the God of War, Ares, who tricked Kratos into murdering his wife and child, by defeating the three Furies.

Like Anthony Caiazzo has mentioned, God of War Ascenscion will feature a revamped combat and weapon system, as well as new gameplay mechanics such as promptless mini-games and activities to be played within the story.

God of War ascension will be the first story within the series when put next to the previous games in chronological order.

The new reboot of Total Recall is a great movie too, so if you're into action and adventure, the God of War demo is a nice added touch to the Blu-ray package.

How would you design a custom controller to match Kratos from the God of War franchise.
