• Siege Operation Blood Orchid Trailer Drops, Out Now

siege operation blood orchidThe new Rainbow Six Siege Operation Blood Orchid expansion is finally out for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

After a long wait, the latest expansion, which adds three new operators, a new map, and a large number of gameplay fixes and balancing changes, has gone live.

Ubisoft released a new trailer for the operation. During the trailer, the new map is showcased, alongside the three new operators.

As mentioned previously, the new map for Operation Blood Orchid is Theme Park. It's a spooky-themed nighttime map that's based on an abandoned theme park. The trailer also shows off Ying and Lesion, the two new operators from Hong Kong. The trailer ends by giving a sneak peek at the third operator, Ela.

Ela is a Polish operator that was originally planned for a now-axed Polish themed operation.

While the trailer does show the three new operators in action, it doesn't do much to showcase their new abilities. We've provided a quick overview of the new operators below.

Ying is a Chinese attacker that can fire a cluster of flashbangs into a room to temporarily blind defenders.

Lesion is a Chinese defender that can throw a device down that can damage and disorientate enemies when it is detonated.

Ela is a Polish defender that can place down gadgets on the floor or on walls. Once the gadget is detonated, enemies nearby temporarily lose their hearing and are given a dizzying effect.

  • Forza Horizon 3 is Getting a Hot Wheels Expansion

forza horizon 3 hot wheelsForza has always been at the brink of racing realism, but the upcoming Hot Wheels expansion takes a very quick turn away from what most Forza players may be used to. Quite frankly, we think it looks pretty exciting.

In the upcoming Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheels expansion, players will be able to unlock and play a number of Hot Wheels style cars and race on a number of race tracks inspired by some of the most iconic Hot Wheels sets of yesteryear.

Yes, that does mean you'll be able to race through bright orange loop-the-loops and all sorts of other physics defying twists and turns. Here's a description from the developers of the upcoming expansion:

"Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheels takes players to six new themed islands located off the coast of Australia; all connected by a network of Hot Wheels tracks -- positioned hundreds of feet in the air -- featuring classic Hot Wheels configurations like loops, corkscrews, and more. This is stunt driving at its most extreme, where you can master tracks by performing brand new Hot Wheels skills that make use of boost pads, high-bank turns, half-pipes, insane jumps, and even giant mechanical dinosaurs."

The Hot Wheels race tracks will certainly be the highlight of the upcoming expansion - we expect the different tracks will definitely bring some new chaos and excitement to the Forza franchise.

The upcoming Hot Wheels expansion will be included in the season pass. For those without the season pass, you'll be able to pick up the Hot Wheels expansion for $19.99.

The definitive experience is slated to release next week and the new teaser trailer is hyping us up for the release.

If you pick up the Definitive Edition, you'll also get to play the Cloaked In Silence expansion and use the various Appeal Packs that were released for Metal Gear Online.

  • Dark Souls 3 Ashes of Ariandel DLC Revealed

Dark Souls 3 Ashes of Ariandel DLC

Dark Souls 3 will be getting it is first DLC on October 25. The DLC will be coming to the PlayStation 4 first and has been named Ashes of Ariandel.

As you'd expect from a game as epic as Dark Souls 3, the upcoming DLC isn't going to come without a lot of content to get players excited about. Unfortunately we aren't too sure what the content will be just yet. In fact, the announcement for the DLC was only posted on Twitter briefly before it was removed again.

The announcement did, however, mention that a trailer for the upcoming DLC was planned and we are expecting to see it make ripples across the internet very soon. Past rumors have suggested that the first DLC expansion for Dark Souls 3 will include a major content drop and could feature new maps, weapons, armor sets and additional bosses and enemies.

We also know that the Ashes of Ariandel will be the first of two DLC packs for Dark Souls 3 and the second will be available next year. Both packs are available for free for those who own the $25 season pass.

We're expecting a proper announcement for the Dark Souls 3 DLC, along with the announcement trailer at the end of August.

Hopefully the trailer will include an insight into what the Ashes of Ariandel DLC will include. We're happy to see any new Dark Souls 3 content at this point and we're sure a lot of Dark Souls 3 fans will agree.

  • New Star Wars Battlefront Bespin Expansion Released

    Battlefront Bespin DLC

The Bespin update for Star Wars Battlefront has been talked about quite a lot already but there's no need to talk about it anymore because it has finally been released.

The new expansion, which is part of the season pass for Star Wars Battlefront, includes 5 new maps, two new heroes, new weapons and new star cards. The new expansion also adds a game mode which has been suitably named Sabotage. A description for the Sabotage game mode has been provided below.

"The Empire are using Tibanna Gas Generators to power their tractor beams, preventing Rebel transports from escaping Cloud City. The Rebels must blow up the generators and defend their extraction point. The Empire must stop the Rebels and hunt them down."

Whilst the new Bespin expansion content has been added to season pass holders, there has been a new patch alongside the update that brings some changes to all players. Firstly, the new patch has increased the level cap from 60 to 70. Players can also unlock new content for the Bespin wing guard and the Shock Trooper. These new unlockables are cosmetic based, so this doesn't include any new weapons or equipment.

Besides some other, small general changes and overall bug fixes, the main included features for all players have been explained below.

Firstly, Palpatine's' honor guard have been replaced with Royal Guards, and Leia's honor guards have been replaced with Alderaan Guards. This should help differentiate the two characters a little better on both the Empire and the Rebel side.

  • Destiny Will Focus on Events instead of New Expansions

    new destiny expansions

During the first year of Destiny's release, Bungie focused on releasing DLC expansions for the title. The first two expansions were much smaller in comparison to The Taken King, but all of the three expansions undoubtedly added quite a lot of new content to Destiny.

Bungie has revealed that their new plans going forward for Destiny will be to release smaller events instead of gargantuan expansions. Bungie's senior designer, Derek Carroll spoke to Eurogamer about their future plans for Destiny.

"With Taken King, we are moving to a more event-based model--things like Festival of the Lost and Sparrow racing, which is our winter event, and then smaller events such as Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris every weekend," Carroll mentioned.

It seems that Destiny's new business model will focus on increasing player engagement and bringing in revenue through their microtransaction currency. The various timed events will certainly keep things fresh and interesting.

"Rather than doing these giant, monolithic DLC packs, this way everybody who's an owner of Taken King can enjoy these things," Carroll continued.

So far a season pass for year two of Destiny has not been announced. It's unlikely that Bungie will release a second season pass, and hopefully all of the future content for Destiny will be released under The Taken King. This means that whilst players will still need to purchase The Taken King, after this purchase they'll be presented with plenty of free content throughout their playtime with Destiny.

  • Destiny Player Count Hits 25 Million High

    destiny player count

Whether you enjoy Destiny or not, there's no denying that other people do - a lot of people. In fact, it was just revealed that Destiny has reached a new record player count, according to Bungie. Thanks to the new sales coming in from the The Taken King expansion, Destiny now has a total of 25 million registered players.

This number does not take into account the amount of players who are active or who still own the game, but instead focuses on players who have played the full version of Destiny at least once in the past.

A lot of the recent growth has been attributed to The Taken King, which Bungie has called the most successful expansion for Destiny so far. Despite costing twice as much as previous expansions, The Taken King has already become a part of many gamer's digital libraries.

Whilst the expansion price for The Taken King may be considered quite steep, it has taken a lot of what was originally wrong with Destiny upon launch and has made fixes to these problems. It has taken Bungie a while to redevelop things to the point where Destiny actually feels like a full gameplay experience, but it's great to see Bungie finally hit that point instead of giving up on Destiny entirely.

The future of the current Destiny game is so far unknown, but it's unlikely the game will receive any more paid expansions. Instead, funding will come from microtransactions, which will mostly be cosmetic items such as armor shaders or emotes. Microtransactions will help to keep support for Destiny going whilst Bungie most likely works on Destiny 2 behind closed doors.

  • Driveclub Bikes Is Coming

    driveclub bikes

A brand new expansion for Driveclub has been revealed this week, and whilst information on the expansion is very minimal, we can still make an accurate guess on exactly what we may expect from the expansion.

As the title suggests, the new upcoming Driveclub expansion is called Driveclub Bikes. The Driveclub expansion will give players the ability to drive a number of bikes, which is a class of vehicle that was not available in the original version of Driveclub.

It's expected that more details will be unveiled within the next few days at the Paris Games Week, but for now we're stuck with very little information about exactly what Driveclub Bikes will be. Whilst a new content rating for Driveclub Bikes has appeared online, it's still hard to say whether the content will be a standalone game, an expansion for Driveclub or just extra DLC.

Whilst a full standalone game is unlikely, it would be strange for a content rating to be made for a small piece of DLC. For this reason, it would make sense that Driveclub Bikes could be considered an expansion of some kind, even if it isn't a standalone expansion.

Make sure to check back here over the following 7 days - Evolution Studios is at Paris Games Week and it's likely we'll hear more about Driveclub Bikes from them this week. For now though, all we can do is speculate. Let's just hope that the new content is great for new and old Driveclub fans alike.

  • New GTA Online Expansion Trailer Released

    gta online lowriders

Rockstar has just released a brand new trailer for GTA Online which shows off a new expansion heading to the streets of Los Santos. The new GTA Online expansion will be available for all players at no charge, but unlike previous content expansions, it will be adding some major game adjustments, especially to the way customizing player vehicles works.

The new update is called GTA Online: Lowriders and it will be released for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on October 20th. In the update, a new customs shop will open downtown called Benny's Original Motor Works. Players will also be able to head to a new website in-game that will include a number of new customizable vehicles.

Some of the new vehicles will feature new functions that can be accessed from the player interaction menu. These functions include the ability to open up the vehicle doors, hood and trunk, switch on the engine and flash your lights.

The new Lowriders update will also add some new content to GTA Online, including some new missions by Lamar that will feature some relevancy to the new vehicle content. Three new adversary modes are coming, a new machine pistol will be available, alongside a machete, and players will find a bunch of new clothing, hair and accessory options. Finally, players will be able to pick up a fourth property to expand their garage collection - this will allow players to add up to an extra 10 cars into their collections.

  • Bloodborne Expansion Details Revealed

    bloodborne expansion

The upcoming Bloodborne expansion that everybody has been talking about for so long has finally been unveiled and there's plenty of information about it to go along with the unveiling.

The unveiling took place at this year's Tokyo Game Show, where From Software announced the name of the expansion and what the expansion will include. From Software's Miyazaki also answered some questions about the expansion.

So, the new expansion has been named The Old Hunters, and it will be released this November for Bloodborne. The new expansion will feature three new areas, a bunch of new weapons and a new boss fight. Interestingly, one of the new weapons is the Bowblade, which will finally bring ranged combat into the world of Bloodborne.

You'll have to check out the trailer for The Old Hunters to see all of the other weapons which have been announced so far. None of the other weapons have had their names revealed yet, so it'll be exciting to learn more about them in the near future. One of the new bosses, Ludwig, is also seen in the trailer.

Players will also find that there will be more opportunities to use magic in The Old Hunters - this is certainly one area of combat that could have done with some love and From Software have delivered perfectly.

The Old Hunters will set players back $19.99 but unlike standard DLC packs, this one really will feel like a large expansion to the base Bloodborne game.
