  • Cheaper GoTY First Party Xbox One Titles Are Coming

xbox one goty editionI've personally never really owned any Game of the Year edition games, but they are typically released at a cheaper price to their original counterparts, and are a great alternative for anybody looking to buy new games at a discounted price. Microsoft have released Xbox 360 GoTY titles for years, but it's now been revealed that they plan to release a bunch of Game of The Year first party games for the Xbox One this year too, to help bulk up the current game portfolio.

It has been confirmed that the new Game of the Year edition titles will come at a cheaper price than the original versions, however the price has not yet been revealed. Interestingly, gamers may be able to pick up a new Xbox One SKU that bundles together a bunch of different GoTY titles at a reduced price.

Microsoft are still waiting to see how many third party publishers are interested in re-releasing their Xbox One games into the Game of the Year title list, but it's possible games like Assassin's Creed Black Flag, Call of Duty: Ghosts and other titles may make it into the GoTY catalogue, along with Ryse: Son of Rome, Dead Rising 3 and Forza Motorsport 5.

All of these new GoTY edition games should be released 'as soon as possible,' however a September release date seems the most likely. We'll probably hear more about these titles, along with information about new Xbox One bundles in the next few months.

  • Bondurant Car Pack DLC Added to Forza 5

Bondurant Car PackJust last week, Turn 10 Studios announced plans to extend their Forza 5 Motorsport Car Pass, and offer two new DLC car packs for absolutely free to anybody that has bought the $49.99 car pack season pass.

The Car Pass was originally meant to give players 80 cars over the course of eight months, but since Turn 10's announcement last week, that number has gone up to 100 cars, for no extra cost.

Despite only being a week since the announcement, Turn 10 Studios have already released one of the car packs now being bundled as an freebie in the $50 car pass. The new DLC pack has been named the Bondurant Car Pack, and it comes with a selection of 10 different new cars.

For those interested, the Bondurant Car Pack comes as part of the June update, and it includes a wide variety of different rides. Below, the different cars in the Bondurant car pack DLC have been listed.

    2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
    2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed
2013 Infiniti #77 Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Dallara IPS Indy Lights
    2013 Mazda MX-5 Cup
2012 MINI John Cooper Works GP
    2009 Pontiac Solstice GXP
1990 Alfa Romeo SZ Sprint Zagato
    1980 Abarth Fiat 131
    1975 Fiat X1/9
    1970 Dodge Coronet Super Bee

For those that haven't purchased the Forza 5 Motorsport Car Pass, the Bondurant Car Pack can be picked up for $9.99. Once you have purchased the pack, you will be able to get access to all 10 cars for free, straight from your garage.

  • 20 More Cars Given to Forza 5 Car Pass Holders

20 more cars forzaI have good news to anybody who's already purchased the Forza 5 Car Pass - Turn 10 and Microsoft have decided to be generous and include two more upcoming DLC car packs into the pass.

This means if you already purchased the Car Pass for Forza 5, you'll be able to get access to the two future DLC packs for free, as well as the previous DLC car packs previously bundled with the Forza 5 Car Pass.

So far, Microsoft and Turn 10 have been releasing car packs every month since Forza 5's launch, but previously they had plans to disclude cars that were released after May, 2014.

These new changes will mean players will get access to June's car pack, as well as July's pack for absolutely free, so long as they have ownership of the Forza 5 Car Pack.

Both the July pack and the June car pack will come with 10 new cars, adding an extra 20 cars to the game via add-on DLC, which totals up to 90 add-on cars since Forza 5's release.

When Forza 5 first came out, any purchased cars had to be unlocked and purchased in-game before they could be driven, but Turn 10 made changes to give players access to the cars for free as soon as they download and install the DLC packs.

It's great to see that Turn 10 and Microsoft are extending the Car Pass for another two months, but I can't help but wonder if they had plans to do this in the first place. Either way, for all you Car Pass owners out there, you've got 20 new free cars to look forward to.

  • New Forza 5 Update Makes DLC Cars Free in Garage

forza 5 free dlcA few changes have just gone live for the DLC car system currently in place for Forza 5, and it will have a few effects on gameplay.

One of the biggest changes is that from now on, when a player purchases a DLC car, that car will arrive instantly in their garage, as opposed to the system beforehand that required players to buy the car both with real money as a DLC pack, and with in-game currency after purchasing the DLC.

Turn10 creative director Dan Greenawalt gave a bit of information in this change, "As of today, players who have purchased DLC cars in Forza Motorsport 5 can add those cars to their Forza 5 garage immediately, at no additional in-game cost. And moving forward, when you buy a Car Pass, a DLC car pack, or a single DLC car, you will be granted the one-time free addition of each car to your Forza 5 garage, without needing to purchase them with in-game credits or tokens."

"This goes for all current Forza Motorsport 5 DLC (including cars in previous DLC car packs) and it will be the case for all future Forza 5 DLC car packs."
This will mean players will get garage access to any DLC cars that were purchased before this change. On top of the DLC system, Turn10 have added the much requested car rental options. All 200 cars that were available at launch can now be rented out.

  • Halo Spartan Assault Owners Gifted with Forza 5 Halo Car

    halo spartan assault forza 5

If you purchased Halo Spartan Assault before February 14th, it probably means two things; you're a big Halo fan and love anything related to the series, and you're going to get a sweet new ride in Forza 5, courtesy of the Halo community at Halo Waypoint.

Last year, around the same time that Forza 5 was released, Halo Waypoint teamed up with Turn 10 to create a beautifully designed Halo Spartan Assault themed 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302 for a few special people. Whilst it may not be as cool as the Forza warthog that got released in a previous Forza title, it did strengthen the bond between the Forza 5 development team and the Halo community just a little more.

Anyway, the awesome 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302 has now been made available for anybody that decided to purchase Halo Spartan Assault for Xbox One before February 14th, so if you're in that group, you should now be able to find your awesome Halo inspired muscle car inside of your Message Center on Forza 5, under the gifts section.

Unlike DLC cars and other extra content cars, you will not have to purchase the Spartan themed vehicle, and as soon as you "download" it, it will appear in your garage. I'd have to say the car looks pretty wicked.

Unfortunately, if you purchased Halo Spartan Assault after February 14th, you will not be gifted this car, which kinda sucks, especially if you purchased it on February 15th or something, but at the end of the day, you win some, you lose some. Maybe you could pick up a Halo themed livery in the storefront.

  • Microsoft Compromises on No More FIFA 14 Bundles

It's been recent news that FIFA 14 will only be bundled with pre-ordered Xbox One day one edition consoles. The Day one edition consoles have already sold out, meaning any more pre-orders will not include FIFA 14, despite Microsoft previously announcing 'every' pre-ordered Xbox One console will receive a free game.

This leads us to think that there isn't really a FIFA 14 for everyone and although the big M settled a deal with EA, it seems that there was only a limited amount of free FIFA 14 day one bundles available.

Because Microsoft were unclear about this at the time of announcing the deal they have offered a compromise to those who didn't get the chance to pre-order the day one edition console due to 'unprecedented demand.'

Microsoft has decided to offer a free copy of Forza 5 to those who pre-order the console now that the FIFA 14 free copies have run dry.

This scheme seems very confusing, and what's stranger is that the FIFA 14 deal is only available to those in Europe and there isn't an American offer similar to this. The new Forza 5 deal is also only available for the UK.
