  • More Star Wars Battlefront Campaign Details Revealed

star wars battlefront 2 campaignSo far, we know that Star Wars Battlefront II is getting a single player campaign, but we know relatively little information about it.

This is quite surprising considering how close we are to the launch now. Thankfully, we have a few more snippets of information today that we can use to help slowly piece together the Star Wars Battlefront campaign story.

Battlefront II producer David Robillard has revealed the length of the Star Wars Battlefront campaign. According to Robillard, the playtime is roughly 5 to 8 hours, depending on how well you can play against the AI opponents.

Considering that this is usually the average length of a single player campaign for AAA first-person shooter games, I think we've got something special to look forward to. There are no details of any level of replayability for the single player campaign yet. These days, most campaigns seem to have very little replay value.

It'd be great to go back to the days of Halo 3 - during those times it seemed couch co-op campaigns with massive replayability were a big focus for developers. These days there's less focus on the single player, and more focus on the multiplayer. This is certainly the case for Star Wars Battlefront 2, but at least they did actually include a single player campaign this time around.

So, in summary, it might not be wise purchasing Star Wars Battlefront 2 on release just for the single-player campaign, but if you plan on playing the game for both the multiplayer and the single player, you'll definitely get your money's worth out of it.

  • No Destiny 2 Halloween Event This Year

destiny 2 halloween eventIt's been a tradition for Bungie to launch a Halloween event each year ever since Destiny first graced our consoles, but this year will be different. There will be no Destiny 2 Halloween event and the reason for this isn't really that clear.

A Destiny fan asked David "Deej" Dague on Twitter whether there would be a Destiny 2 Halloween event and he simply responded with "No Sir." Later on, Deej expanded on his reply by saying, "We may see it again someday but Season 1 has been about launch and ritual activation. The first event for Destiny 2 is The Dawning."

In Destiny 1, Festival of the Lost was the name of the Halloween event that would appear each year. Even though Destiny 1 also launched in September, (back in 2014) Bungie still released a Festival of the Lost event on the first year.

It seems a shame that we won't be getting a Festival of the Lost Halloween event this year for Destiny 2, but hopefully, we will see it return next year.

For those unaware, The Dawning is a Christmas themed event that initially launched for Destiny in December 2016. With it returning to Destiny 2, it'll mean players will have an opportunity to get involved with the festivities this Christmas, so that'll somewhat make up for the lack of a Destiny 2 Halloween event.

Last year, The Dawning included a number of new cosmetic items, new legendary armor sets, the return of the Sparrow Racing League, The Dawning exclusive exotics, and a new Crucible playlist. Hopefully, we'll see a similarly sized content drop for Destiny 2 later this year.

  • Destiny 2 Patch Brings New Factions Legendary Weapon

destiny 2 patch faction rallies legendaryA brand new Destiny 2 patch has hit both Xbox One and PS4. This patch brings a number of bug fixes, gameplay balancing changes, and also introduces a new legendary weapon via the recent factions feature.

Let's start with the juicy stuff first, shall we? Patch 1.0.3.1 introduces a brand new legendary weapon that is now available as a reward for those that took part in the faction gameplay last week.

The Faction Rallies event allowed players to join one of three factions to earn points for that faction and earn rewards. It was explained that the faction with the most points at the end of the week was to be given access to a legendary weapon related to that faction.

Now that the event is over, the winning faction, Dead Orbit, has their scout rifle available in-game. All players can purchase the scout rifle for 50,000 glimmers. However, those in the Dead Orbit faction will be able to pick it up for just 1,000.

The new Destiny 2 patch also brings a number of new bug fixes and changes to the game, including some changes to the maps in Crucible. An overview of the Crucible changes can be seen below.

    - Added invisible physics and kill volumes to keep players inside the intended playable area on the following maps:

    • Eternity
    • Altar of Flame
    • Emperor's Respite
    • Legion's Gulch
    • Javelin-4
    • The Dead Cliffs

    - Added invisible physics to all stairs in The Dead Cliffs to allow grenades to bounce properly.
    - Adjusted spawning system values to reduce the frequency of players respawning into dangerous situations on all maps.

  • New LawBreakers 1.3 Patch Released

lawbreakers patch 1.3A brand new patch for LawBreakers has recently gone live on both the PS4 and the PC version of the game. For the most part, the patch has gone ahead smoothly, although there has been a temporary issue with weapon stickers that the developers are currently working to get solved.

In the new patch, a nighttime version of the Promenade map has been added. Role limits have now been set to 2, and Kick decals can now be sprayed by players across the game environment.

A number of balancing changes have been made to different game modes, too. For example, the Blitzball mode has been made more challenging. The Blitzball shield radius has been increased from 850 to 1000.

The Overcharge mode has had similar changes - the radius for reducing the Battery's shield has increased from 750 to 850, and the contest radius for the Battery has increased to 1000. The contest area has also changed to a sphere as opposed to a cylinder, which should make it easier for players to hold the spot while moving.

Uplink has had the same changes as Overcharge. Finally, the Trench map has had some adjustments. A collision area has been added to the top of the central zone above capture point B. This allows Harrier players to throw Supercharger Stations at that area.

A large number of bug fixes have also been applied to this latest patch, as well as some overall UI fixes and small tweaks.

  • New NBA 2K18 Social Space To Change Up Multiplayer

NBA 2K18 neighborhoodsThis year, the NBA 2K18 multiplayer mode is getting a huge overhaul. In NBA 2K18, a new social space called Neighborhoods is being added.

In the new Neighborhoods mode, players will be able to customize their own player, interact with others, and take part in a variety of different activities, some of which are related to basketball, while some aren't.

The Neighborhood mode will take place in a separate map that'll feature a set of American city blocks. Basketball courts, shops for customizing your character, and other recreational areas will be included.

The new Neighborhood mode will essentially work as a lobby for players to hang out in while waiting for games in either of the MyPark, Pro-Am, and MyCareer modes.

Players will also be able to take part in different activities to improve their player's skills to help them be better players on the basketball court. Players will share the Neighborhood with other players that are online.

At any time, a player can interact with another player and invite them to a MyPark game. Alternatively, they can drop out and progress through the MyCareer or Pro-Am modes.

NBA 2K18 is set to launch for the majority of platforms on September 19. The consoles that will support NBA 2K18 includes PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

The new MyCareer mode will have more of a focus on developing your own personal storyline, as opposed to progressing through a season as an existing basketball team.

  • Siege Operation Blood Orchid Trailer Drops, Out Now

siege operation blood orchidThe new Rainbow Six Siege Operation Blood Orchid expansion is finally out for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

After a long wait, the latest expansion, which adds three new operators, a new map, and a large number of gameplay fixes and balancing changes, has gone live.

Ubisoft released a new trailer for the operation. During the trailer, the new map is showcased, alongside the three new operators.

As mentioned previously, the new map for Operation Blood Orchid is Theme Park. It's a spooky-themed nighttime map that's based on an abandoned theme park. The trailer also shows off Ying and Lesion, the two new operators from Hong Kong. The trailer ends by giving a sneak peek at the third operator, Ela.

Ela is a Polish operator that was originally planned for a now-axed Polish themed operation.

While the trailer does show the three new operators in action, it doesn't do much to showcase their new abilities. We've provided a quick overview of the new operators below.

Ying is a Chinese attacker that can fire a cluster of flashbangs into a room to temporarily blind defenders.

Lesion is a Chinese defender that can throw a device down that can damage and disorientate enemies when it is detonated.

Ela is a Polish defender that can place down gadgets on the floor or on walls. Once the gadget is detonated, enemies nearby temporarily lose their hearing and are given a dizzying effect.

  • All Destiny 2 Exotic Weapons And Armor Leaked

destiny 2 exotic weaponsWhile Destiny 2 still isn't out yet, we have some new information about the game thanks to a recent leak. The new leak reveals all of the exotic weapons and armor that'll come to Destiny 2 on launch day.

The leak was carried out by Reddit users NFSgaming, supadhalster, and SleeperWho.

The leak also contains plenty of information about the game content, the tower, the final campaign mission, the strikes, and some information about the story missions.

The leak also shares detailed information about the new subclasses and the different abilities that they'll have in Destiny 2. The most exciting information, however, is without a doubt the exotics information.

Unfortunately, the leaked images have since been removed, but we can confirm that Destiny 2 will have more new exotics that it originally had in the first Destiny. Players will also be able to get access to some of the exotic weapons and armor pieces originally released in Destiny 1.

Interestingly, the Gjallarhorn rocket launcher will not be making a return to Destiny 2, despite it being one of the most popular exotics in the first Destiny. Other than the Gjallarhorn, it seems as if all other old exotics will be making a return.

If you'd like to look into the new exotics and leaked Destiny 2 story information, it can be found online and in the Destinythegame subreddit on reddit.com. We won't post them here because we understand that the information is loaded with spoilers.

  • PUBG Playerbase Overtook F2P Title Dota 2

pubg playerbase beats dota 2If you haven't played Playerunknown's Battlegrounds yet, chances are you've at least heard of it. The game has quickly become the most played Steam title on PC. Recently, Battlegrounds managed to overtake Dota 2, the reigning Steam champ.

Battlegrounds hit a peak of 877,000 players earlier this month. With these stats, it narrowly outperformed Dota 2 for both peak player and concurrent player numbers.

Since the inception of Dota 2 on Steam, not a single game has managed to consistently stay as high in the charts as Battlegrounds has. Over the last few years, very few gameplay titles have managed to get past Dota 2, either. This is partially due to the fact that Dota 2 is a free-to-play MOBA title, just like League of Legends. It's also due to the fact that Steam's company, Valve, has developed the game.

The closest game to compete with Dota 2 is Valve's other game Counter Strike: Global Offensive. A game currently retailing for around $10.

The recent stats are even more impressive when you realize that Playerunknown's Battlegrounds currently retails for around $30, three times as much as Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

Currently, Playerunknown's Battlegrounds is exclusive to the PC platform. A third party developer is working on bringing Battlegrounds to Xbox One, and we should see it make it to Xbox's Early Access program soon.

We don't yet have a release date for the Xbox One version, and there's no news of PUBG ever coming to PlayStation 4.

  • Rune: Ragnarok Is A New Upcoming Open World RPG

rune ragnarok new open world gameHuman Head, the same development team as Prey and Prey 2, is now working on a brand new open world RPG game called Rune: Ragnarok.

Surprisingly, Rune: Ragnarok isn't the first Rune game in the franchise. In fact, Human Head created a game called Rune that released way back in 2000.

It looks like Rune: Ragnarok will be the game to revitalize that universe in an exciting new way. So far, we know very little about Rune: Ragnarok other than that the development team is working on it, and it'll be released some point in the future.

No details on release windows or gameplay reveal trailers have yet been mentioned.

We do have a single non-gameplay reveal trailer though. In the reveal trailer the narrator is heard saying the following:

"From birth, the children of the North hear tales of the end of the world. A battle so great the gods fall and the Nine Worlds are consumed by frost and fire. But these tales are false. The gods did not perish. For seven years our worlds have been devoured by death and destruction. Now, mankind must rise and do what the gods could not. Ragnarok must end."

We don't have any information about which platforms the new Ragnarok game will be launched on, but Human Head does mention on their website that they work on PC, consoles, VR, and mobile devices. Hopefully, Rune Ragnarok will get a launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. We may even see some VR-related gameplay if we're lucky.
