Epic Games Sets the Record Straight on Gears of War: Exile

Back in early January 2011, news surfaced about Epic Games trademarking the title "Gears of War: Exile" on US Patent and Trademark office's website. Cliff Bleszinski (aka Cliffy B) of Epic Games revealed in an interview with Gamespot at PAX: East that the studio was working on a project named that, but that it has since been cancelled indefinitely.

"Let's just bury the hatchet now...Gears of War: Exile was an unannounced game that I can't give any details about that has since been cancelled."

Outside of the trademark's existence, there wasn't any other information about the game itself. Some thought it would be a Kinect title and an on-rails shooter but without any information to go on, it's up in the air what the project was for.
