• Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience Teased

Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience was revealed back at the end of August, but we have now received a teaser trailer that shares more information on the upcoming collection.

The definitive experience is slated to release next week and the new teaser trailer is hyping us up for the release.

Unfortunately, the content of Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience won't be that exciting for those that have already played the game. The collection will include the full version of The Phantom Pain, alongside the full version of Ground Zeroes, and some additional content thrown in here and there.

The additional content includes the two Deja Vu and Jamais Vu missions which were previously exclusive to the console versions. Definitive Experience owners will also get access to some new weapons and costumes for use in The Phantom Pain. If you pick up the Definitive Edition, you'll also get to play the Cloaked In Silence expansion and use the various Appeal Packs that were released for Metal Gear Online.

If you've not played Metal Gear Solid V before then the Definitive Experience may take your fancy. Currently the Definitive Experience is slated for release on October 11th for North America and October 14th for Europe. The price tag for Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Edition will go for $49.99 in North America and 34.99 in the UK. European prices are sitting at 39.99 euros.

Would you consider picking up the Metal Gear Solid V: Definitive Edition?

  • Metal Gear Online Gets Survival Mode

    metal gear online survival mode

A patch has just been introduced to the Metal Gear Online servers that adds a few changes. The biggest addition to the new patch is survival mode for MGO. The new survival mode has been talked about for a while now but it has finally made it's way into the game.

In survival mode, players can team up to make six-player squads that fight it out as long as they possibly can. A squad in survival mode is given 10 tries each week to try and accomplish a five win streak. If they get five wins in a row then they will be given different rewards, however, if their team loses before that five win streak, no rewards will be given. The 10 allotted attempts reset every Tuesday.

However, if players purchased the Cloaked in Silence expansion pack, they will be able to play survival mode as many times as they want each week. The pack included a few new maps and introduced Quiet as a playable character. Cloaked in Silence is available for $4.

The rest of the update included a number of fixes to bugs and some balance changes too, including a few tweaks to how the claymores can be set off. Konami has also worked on bringing down the affect ping (latency) has on players and the actions they perform in Metal Gear Online.

Top end this news post, we've got some great news too - Konami has managed to ship 6 million copies of Metal Gear Solid V worldwide.

  • Silent Hills has Been Cancelled

It was almost expected at this point but unfortunately Konami has cancelled the development for Silent Hills and much to our dismay the game will no longer be released.

The development studios behind Silent Hills have always dealt with internal problems it seems, and as a result the latest Silent Hills game will never see the light of day. In a brief statement, Konami said, "Konami is committed to new Silent Hill titles, however the embryonic 'Silent Hills' project developed with Guillermo del Toro and featuring the likeness of Norman Reedus will not be continued,"

What's interesting about this is that Konami still aren't putting down the Silent Hills IP for good. This may mean that we could see a Silent Hills game from Konami in the future. The likelihood of that happening is quite slim at this point though. The studio doesn't exactly look in great shape at this point, especially after cutting out Hideo Kojima from the equation.

Norman Reedus from The Walking Dead was also set to star in Silent Hills as the main protagonist but since the game has now been cancelled his contract period with him has expired.

Reedus posted on Twitter mentioning the cancellation of Silent Hills as well.

"Super bummed about this was really looking forward to it. Hopefully it'll come back around. Sorry everyone."

Thankfully we are still going to be getting Metal Gear Solid V but if it were still a year or two away from development there's a good chance that it could have been cancelled as well.
