  • New Titanfall 2 Update Changes Weapon Loadouts

Titanfall 2 War Games UpdateA brand new free DLC pack is making its way to all Titanfall 2 players and it's going to change how weapon loadouts work.

The new DLC pack has been dubbed "The War Games" and it will be launched on June 27 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

The highlight of the new DLC pack has to be the first new map, aptly named War Games. This map takes some inspiration from the layout in Angel City to create a multi-level small city. The aesthetic for the War Games map is quite unique - all of the elements in the map feature a VR style graphics style.

Another new map will be making its way into the War Games DLC. The second map is called Traffic.

Traffic is considered by Respawn to be a "weather test site" that spans across an intersection between two busy modes. Traffic is locked down to the 6v6 Fire mode.

Gameplay-wise, the most important change to the new update is the additional weapon slot for a player's loadout. Starting June 27, it will now be possible for pilots to hold a primary and secondary weapon as usual, alongside an anti-titan weapon. This allows players to pick out an anti-titan weapon without being forced to drop out their secondary.

A future update is also planned for Titanfall 2 that'll bring a 4K texture option for those that own the Xbox One X. There will also be new game modes added in the future, including the return of an old game mode from the first Titanfall.

  • New Titanfall 2 Update Goes Live

titanfall 2 new updateA brand new Titanfall 2 update has gone live on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

The new Titanfall 2 update is named Colony Reborn and it's completely free to all Titanfall 2 owners. The new update adds a brand new map, a new weapon and a number of other changes and overall tweaks.

Besides the free content, there are also two new prime titans and 20 new camos, banners and patches are available for purchase. The two new titans are named Northstar and Legion. The first is a lightweight, speedy Titan, while Legion is a bulkier titan, equipped with a gattling gun.

The new free map is called Colony - this is actually a map that first made its appearance in the original Titanfall game. Old school Titanfall players should be happy to get their hands on this in Titanfall 2 - it's a close-quarters map that gave those on foot plenty of buildings to travel between while fighting titans.

The new weapon is the R-101 - this is also a throwback to the original Titanfall game. The R-101C was the standard weapon players would start with and despite being available to low leveled players, it was one of the most versatile options available. It's great to see it back in Titanfall 2.

A brand new execution has been added as well. Nicknamed curb check, this execution will show your enemies that you really mean business.

Have you checked out the new Titanfall 2 update yet?

  • Titanfall 2 to Get Free Trial

titanfall-2-freeRespawn Entertainment is going to great lengths to get new players into the world of Titanfall 2.

Alongside EA's help, Respawn has now released a free trial for Titanfall 2 that will allow players to try out the game before purchasing it.

The trial has launched as a freebie for those with EA Access or Origin Access. Alternatively, those without EA/Origin Access can pay $4.99 for the first month, cancel their subscription and then use their first month to play the Titanfall 2 trial. The best option though, is for players to wait till December 2nd and pick up the trial for free - at this point, even those without Origin Access will have the ability to play the trial on PS4, Xbox One or PC.

The Titanfall 2 trial will end on December 4 - after the trial ends, players will be able to purchase the game if they'd like to continue with the stats they left with. The trial will be limited to multiplayer, but there will be no content restrictions and the trial can be played without any time limits.

Players will essentially be given the full Titanfall 2 multiplayer experience for free until December 4. To make it sweeter, a brand new content drop will hit on December 3rd, and all trial players will be able to experience the new content and new multiplayer map.

Will you be trying out Titanfall 2 during the free trial period? It's the perfect time to do it.

  • Titanfall 2 Will Have Six New Titans

Titanfall was perhaps the most unique first person shooter to be released over the last few years, but the trouble with the first game was that it was quite lacking in content. Fortunately the Respawn Entertainment team have had much more space the second time round to add lots of additional gameplay content.

We don't know much about the gameplay content available in Titanfall 2, but more details are starting to pour in. Recently it was revealed that Titanfall 2 will have 6 different titan types, all of which will have their own unique abilities.

First up we have Northstar, an agile titan with weapons that can snipe other titans and soldiers from a distance. Next we have Legion, a support class titan that can use it's variety of ballistics to help defend areas and keep other enemies at bay.

The third Titan is called Ronin - as the name suggests, this titan is useful up close and personal and holds a samurai-like vibe. Ronin has a phase shift ability that will help him to phase in and out of battle.

The fourth is called Tone - a titan that can take down individual opponents quickly and efficiently. Ion is the fifth titan and will use a number of energy weapons to take down enemies. Finally, Scorch is the sixth titan. Scorch comes equipped with a number of offensive and defensive fire based abilities.

By the sounds of it, a lot of thought has gone into each of the new titans and it might just be that the titans will now play a more tactical role on the battlefield.

  • Titanfall 2 Beta is Live

    Titanfall 2 Beta is Live

The second beta for Titanfall 2 has now gone live for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and you can still get the chance to play it right now. The main goal for this beta from Respawn Entertainment's perspective is to stress test the servers, so it's very easy to get into the beta on both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. You can download the Titanfall 2 multiplayer stress test from both the Xbox Games Store and the PlayStation Store from your consoles.

If you miss the beta this time, don't fret, we'd expect there to be at least another multiplayer stress test before the game gets a final release. Speaking of which, Titanfall 2 is now scheduled for release on October 28 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Available gameplay content in the beta is understandably quite limited, but this new beta test did see a small addition of new content added. A number of game fixes and tweaks have been made during the beta test, too, so it's clear that Respawn Entertainment still have quite a lot of work to do when it comes to multiplayer balancing.

Fortunately the beta tests will do wonders for the Titanfall 2 development team. With more beta tests Respawn Entertainment will be able to lock down stable server performance, iron out any obviously overpowered or underpowered content and ensure that the game launch goes as smooth as possible in October.

  • Titanfall Devs Making New Star Wars Games

    titanfall star wars

Star Wars is going to blow up. Again. The revitalization of the Star Wars franchise is being charged ahead by plenty of big time companies, including the likes of Disney and EA. On the gameplay front, EA has a huge amount of resources at their disposal to use as they please, one such resource being Respawn Entertainment, the development team that launched Titanfall.

Whilst Respawn Entertainment are currently working on the development of Titanfall 2, they've also undertaken the task to develop a brand new Star Wars title. We know absolutely nothing about the title yet, other than it will be considered an "all-new third-person action adventure game set in the Star Wars universe."

Don't worry if you're concerned about Respawn juggling too much at once. They might be the biggest development team out there but rumors suggest that Titanfall 2 is nearing completion and it may even be launching later this year, so this leaves a lot of the current development team with little to work on in regards to the first Titanfall sequel.

Respawn Entertainment isn't the only development team under EA's umbrella that'll be working on a new Star Wars game. In fact, the entire following list of development studios, all of which are now owned or partly owned by EA, will be working on a Star Wars game.
    + Capital Games
    + Visceral Games
    + DICE
    + BioWare
    + Motive
Too much Star Wars? Well, the Star Wars universe is massive and each of these teams are highly skilled and have their own experience with different video game genres. We think it could go well for EA, although the thought of a new Star Wars title will start to get less and less exciting for existing fans.

  • Titanfall 2 Confirmed for Xbox One and PS4

titanfall 2 confirmedAfter a whole year of rumors, Respawn Entertainment have finally spoken about the possibility of Titanfall 2, and everything has now been set in stone.

Just a few days after the anniversary of Titanfall, Respawn CEO Vince Zampella revealed some details about Titanfall 2 in a new interview with IGN.

Whilst EA has mentioned that a new Titanfall was in the works, Respawn Entertainment, the studio that actually develops the game, has not said anything about the title till now. In the IGN interview, Zampella mentioned that they are "working on a sequel."

"No official name yet, but we're working on that. That's the main focus but we're starting up a second team and doing some smaller stuff too," Zampella said. "Small, exploratory, taking it slow."

Perhaps the most important thing Zampella mentioned was that the new Titanfall game will "be multiplatform." Whilst Zampella didn't specifically say it, it's pretty clear that Zampella means that the game will be releasing for both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. It's likely that Titanfall 2 will also be available on the PC through Origin, like the original title.

Zampella was also asked about the multiplayer-only approach that Respawn Entertainment took with Titanfall. He mentioned that he would not have done it differently, and in the future Respawn may think about taking a page from Evolve's books by providing free maps instead of DLC maps to players to avoid splitting the player base.

  • Another Hint That Titanfall 2 Will be on PS4

titanfall 2 on ps4Titanfall originally released on the Xbox One, Xbox 360 and the PC, making it an exclusive for Microsoft platforms. Whilst it wasn't confirmed, at the time of the release, many were assuming that Titanfall would lose it's exclusivity by the time the second title was released.

Let's be honest, Titanfall 2 probably is coming, and Respawn Entertainment are going to do all they can to keep it from dying out before the franchise has even had a chance to flourish. One way for Respawn to accomplish this is to reach out for a multi-platform release, including the PlayStation 4.

So far, nobody at Respawn has confirmed in words that Titanfall 2 will be on PS4, but a new comment by EA CFO Blake Jorgensen kind of suggests that it won't just be the Xbox that will be getting the Respawn treatment in the new future.

Jorgensen stated - "Last year it was on the Xbox only; in the future, we haven't yet announced, but we'll probably have another Titanfall game. It will probably be a bigger footprint than just a single platform. I think that's a huge positive for us."

If there is a more obvious way of saying Titanfall 2 would be coming to PlayStation 4 without actually saying it, I'd be excited to hear, because as far as we're concerned it looks very likely that a Titanfall sequel will be coming to multiple platforms instead of just the Xbox One and PC.

  • Maps unveiled for Titanfall IMC Rising DLC

imc rising titanfallRespawn Entertainment have now revealed all three maps for their upcoming third and final Titanfall DLC, IMC Rising, and by the sounds of it, season pass holders of the game are in for quite a treat.

The first map in the new IMC Rising DLC has been named Sand Trap, which features a network of trenches that are connected within a desert environment.

Map creator Chris Dionne mentioned that, "One of my main goals with Sand Trap was to use old ideas in new ways. In the center is a buried bunker inspired by the buried architecture in Fracture; this lets Titans stomp around above while pilots scurry below. Across the map are deep trenches that create a well-run highway for pilots; inspired by wall running in Rise they give quick and (relatively) safe routes across the map."

The second map for IMC Rising is a map focused on various levels of elevation and has been named Blackwater - this will be a map for those looking for some great 360 degrees jetpack-parkour combat.

The final map is Zone 18, an abandoned IMC base hidden within the wilderness.

IMC Rising for Titanfall will be released later this year for Xbox 360 and Xbox One - like the DLC packs before it, IMC Rising will be part of the season pass, and season pass holders will be able to pick it up for free, whilst other players will need to pay to access these levels.

  • Titanfall Receiving Last DLC Pack this Fall

titanfall third dlc packRespawn Entertainment, the developers behind Titanfall, have just announced details for their third and final DLC pack for their recently released FPS. The new DLC pack will include three new maps that explore unseen places of the Titanfall universe.

The next DLC pack for Titanfall has been called IMC Rising, so it's likely that the maps will focus on IMC created facilities and locations, as opposed to the previous map packs, Frontier's Edge and Expedition, which focused on scenic areas and Militia mining areas.

On Frontier's Edge, players were given Dig Site, one of the smallest maps in the game, Export, an interesting map that comes with a "black market" feature that allows players to buy and sell burn cards with in-game currency, and finally Haven, an open map perfect for objective based games.

Expedition came with Swampland, a map focusing on an alien world's scenery, War Games, a map that took another look at Titanfall's pilot training simulator, and Runoff, a water based level.

Abbie Heppe, community manager for Respawn Entertainment and Titanfall, revealed at EA's recent press conference that the new IMC Rising DLC pack will "only just begin to explore this universe," in reference to the huge universe that Respawn has created for Titanfall.

Hopefully we'll hear more about the included maps in IMC Rising in the near future as the map pack is expected to release before the end of this year.

With this release of the final DLC it's probably time to pick up a Evil Controller. Check out the Master Mod and all the great features it can add to your game style.
