  • Tony Hawk Confirms New PS4 Skateboarding Game

tony hawk ps4Good news, everybody! At this years CES, Tony Hawk showed up at Sony's keynote to reveal some pretty exciting news. According to Hawk, there is a new project currently in development for the PlayStation 4 that Tony Hawk is getting involved with.

As you can guess, yes it will be a skateboarding game, but besides this obvious fact it’s unclear what we can expect. Further details were not given about the upcoming Tony Hawk skateboarding game for the PlayStation 4.

Earlier in 2014, Tony Hawk did mention that there was something "fans of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series will be hyped" about. Could this mean we may see a more traditional Tony Hawk Pro Skater game?

Hopefully this is the case - the last two Tony Hawk games used external skateboard peripherals, and as soon as this started, the Tony Hawk series went downhill, literally and figuratively.

If Tony Hawk moves back to a more button mashin' style approach for the PlayStation 4, I'm sure a lot of fans of the series will be very, very happy.

Before the two 'ride' games by Tony Hawk, Proving Ground and Project 8 were released - these took a step closer to more realistic skateboarding, and it was a move that divided the Tony Hawk player base.

It's clear at this point that the most successful Tony Hawk games were the humorous, not-so-realistic games, so hopefully Activision keeps this in mind. Would you be interested in a new Tony Hawk game?
