Mentioned here on The Escapist online magazine, Arvind Bhata, an financial analyst with Sterne Agee, stated that while July was probably one the worst months in the video game industry and August not looking too bright as well, September will be a large improvement with the release of big titles like Gears of War and Madden 2012.

If you are planning on delving into the pending Battlefield 3 on your computer you will need to create an Origin account. Origin is Electronic Arts digital distributing application, and is the largest competitor for Steam, who it has been confirmed will not be offering Battlefield 3. This should not be a huge surprise for gamers, and personally the move by DICE and EA makes a lot of sense.
Origin offers a wide range of gaming opportunities for PC dedicated gamers, and is an excellent host for Battlefield 3 when it finally becomes available on October 25th. The multi-platform title is set to be Modern Warfares largest competitor, and already gaming

James "Hawkprey" Hawkins, the artist behind Gears of War
Ever notice that Epic Games line of games' artwork and style have a lot in common? For example, Gears of War has a Unreal Tournament vibe to it as well as Bulletstorm. Well it's no coincidence as those games have the same artist behind it. That artist is known as James "Hawkprey" Hawkins.
Hawkins is the concept artists at Epic Games and was part of establishing the look for all its games.

UK-based GOW3 fan makes a lancer out of a NERF dart gun to auction for charity.
While there has been NERF lancers done before in the past, some people try to surpass one another by adding more detail or doing something different from others. As seen here on Kotaku, someone has gone the distance and made their NERF lancer customization a full automatic, different from the semi-automatics lancers that were customized out of NERF

On June 24thwe blogged about the possibilities of a Modern Warfare 3 survival mode, and since E3 the hype about this new mode has been brewing. Recently a game play video of MW3s survival mode has given us a whole new perception of its possibilities. The video is basically a walkthrough of all the options and perks associated with the survival mode. Ladies and Gentlemen, I am proud to say that it is going to be absolutely amazing; it is a whole new way to enjoy the weapons, perks, and game play of Modern Warfare games.
It is exactly as you would have imagined, with some twists here and there. Survival mode is a wave defense game type in which you accumulate money, purchase new devices, and outlast the hordes of enemies as long as you can. It also appears (from the video) that you can gain XP and level up while playing survival mode, which

I am having a hard time containing my excitement about Polish developer Flying Wild Hogs new game Hard Reset. With very little hype surrounding the game, and limited information it is hard to imagine that it is due to be released in September this year. Hard Reset is PC exclusive, and normally developers will pour at least a year of hype into new games before their release. The lack of community buzz, however, is not a comment on the games quality or superior development.
Currently there are a limited source of screenshots, one game play trailer, and one teaser trailer. Hard Reset is running a hard PR campaign that will only last the three months before its release in September.

Zombies mode for Call of Duty: Black Ops has seen a large series of updates during this year, and on August 23rd the public gets the opportunity to download five more maps. I have been consistently playing Shangri La, and I still havent mastered the maps tricks and Easter eggs. This being said, I might have to put my efforts on the Shangri La map on hold for the new Rezurrection downloadable content package.
Rezurrection is a collection of the four original zombie maps from World at War, Nacht der Untoten. Verruckt. Shi No Numa. and Der Riese, plus an all new map called Moon. These remakes should be an excellent addition to Black Ops sterling record of zombie annihilation. I personally enjoyed the original zombie maps, and I cannot wait to see them updated and outfitted for Black Ops game play.
The map

Gears of War 3's Trailer featuring Ice-T shows Horde Mode
Like we stated earlier, Epic Games this past week released the latest trailer for Gears of War 3 that featured music exclusively for the game that was made by Ice-T (who is known as Griffin in the game). So why don't you check it out?
So this clip shows off what Horde Mode 2.o is going to be like. And from the looks of it, that if you enjoyed the original Horde Mode,

Epic Games says Gears of War 3 leak is sad, but nothing to worry about.
Rod Fergusson of Epic Games stated on the Escapist Magazine website that he was disappointed and frustrated that the Gears of War 3's build that was leaked early last month and made its way onto torrent sites. He added that he doesn't understand why would someone go to such lengths to spoil an experience for themselves.
Fergusson went on to add that the leaked

It is nearly impossible to predict where the gaming industry is headed in the next ten years, let alone the next couple. Advancements that astonish the industry seem to get released every year, changing the way we play, and the way in which games are made.
Euclideon, an Australia based tech company, is developing a new way to map and design fully functioning game graphics. The traditional method includes building maps out of a large series polygons, which make the 3-D gaming environment. Euclideon, however, has found a way to convert polygons into point cloud data. This is a method of mapping 3-D objects with atoms instead of hard-edged polygons, making the detail on the gaming environment up to 100,000 times more detailed than polygon technology.
Being a small developer, Euclideon does not have the resources of big
