Capcom is looking to team up with Bandai Namco to improve the matchmaking experience for Street Fighter V players.
Chances are, you may have noticed some network issues or latency with the Street Fighter V online servers. It's something that Capcom has acknowledged themselves, and they're actively looking to improve the situation.
In fact, Capcom is trying so hard to improve their online experience that they're teaming up with a team that knows how to do online matchmaking right; Bandai Namco.
The Tekken 7 matchmaking experience is far superior to what's offered in Street Fighter V, so the partnership between Bandai Namco and Capcom to improve the server performance in SF5 makes perfect sense.
Interestingly, the statement released by Capcom seemed to suggest that Bandai Namco and Capcom would be working together on more than just matchmaking performance in the future. This looks like the start of a long, beneficial partnership for both parties. You can see the

The first official Capcom Pro Tour event for 2017 has been announced.
The upcoming event is Final Round 20 and it will be the first event of this year to be included in Capcom Pro Tour rankings. Final Round has been a part of the Capcom Pro Tour in the past, and Fight Round 20 will be the third year running. It's not yet been confirmed whether Final Round 20 will be a Ranking or a Premier event, but some other details have been confirmed.
After last year's miscommunication from Fight Round 20, the bracket system will work. For example, last year Fight Round held a Premier event for the 2016 Capcom Pro Tour, but because of the lack of access to online brackets, it was very hard for players to figure out exactly who had made it out of the original stages and into the Top 128.
This year, the pools will be played out over two days instead of one, and the Smash.gg platform will be used to track matches and provide accessible online brackets for anybody to view.

We've got big news today! Marvel Vs Capcom 4 is getting a 2017 release.
Not only is Marvel Vs Capcom now slated for a 2017 release, but we may get a first glimpse and a proper announcement at the Capcom Cup later this year. During the event, we'll most likely hear about some of the fighters we'll see both from the Capcom camp and the Marvel team.
According to rumors, the Marvel Vs Capcom 4 lineup may not feature any X-Men, at least to begin with. A lot of the more iconic Street Fighter characters are expected to make an appearance, and those that are part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
This would include those that are part of the Avengers; The Incredible Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, etc, as well as a number of potential villains. For now, we're unsure whether Spidey will be included in the mix, but it'd be nice to see him say hello. If the Marvel vs Capcom team does go ahead with the cinematic universe then we'll most likely not see any appearances from

EVO is making an exciting return in 2017, and we've now received details about when and where the event will take place.
EVO is one of the biggest fighting game tournaments in the world. It supports events for some of the most popular current fighting games, as well as some older titles. While the full game lineup is yet to be announced, the trailer has shown footage for Guilty Gear Xrd - Revelator, Street Fighter V, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Tekken 7 and Mortal Kombat X.
We wouldn't be surprised if other titles make their way to EVO 2017, including Smash Bros Wii U.
In 2016, EVO took place in Las Vegas for the first two days, whilst the final day of the event took place in Mandalay Bay's arena. It was a bit difficult for all fans to attend the entire EVO event, so this year the organizers have put the effort in to accommodate everybody for the 2017 event.
In 2017, the EVO event will take place on July 14 and will end with the final matches happening on July 16.

For the first time ever, Capcom has stepped in to resolve an issue within the Capcom Pro Tour and it has ended with a player being banned temporarily from the event.
Whilst the altercation has nothing to do with Street Fighter at all, the problem was due to something that happened at an event. It was right for Capcom to act upon it and make a necessary statement instead of sweeping it under the rug.
The altercation involved Noel Brown, who many of us will admit is one of the top players within the competitive Street Fighter scene. Noel Brown did play Street Fighter V competitively but his best performance was with Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, which saw him sit among the top 10 players in the world.
According to Capcom, Noel Brown will be banned from future events due to his actions during Combo Breaker 2016. Below, part of the statement from Capcom has been provided.
"Over the past weekend, we were notified that an unfortunate case of sexual harassment occurred

The next Street Fighter update will be adding some new content for Street Fighter V and it will be paving the way for the next DLC character, which we all know will be Guile. For a while, however, the exact landing date for Guile hasn't been known. So when exactly can we expect to see Guile in Street Fighter V and how will he work as a DLC piece?
Guile has been around for a long, long time so it's definitely pleasing some fans (and potentially frustrating others) to see him make a return in Street Fighter V. Not only has Guile made a name for himself in the main Street Fighter story arc, but he's been in plenty of other crossover titles too, including Marvel x Capcom and Street Fighter x Tekken. So Guile was previously announced as DLC but fortunately he will be available for free to all players until the Zenny shop opens, at which point we're guessing players will have to pay points for him.
Guile will have his own Character Story and set of trials too and to sweeten the

It's a brand new month and that means a brand new set of free games for all PS Plus subscribers. The PS Plus games will be available for all players for the entirety of their PS Plus subscription.
The first title on the list of free games this month is GRID Autosport for the PlayStation 3. GRID is a simulation style racing game and offers a lengthy campaign mode and great racing physics. Despite being on PlayStation 3, the visuals in GRID Autosport are pretty spectacular too. Unfortunately a PS4 port is not available.
The second PlayStation 3 title that is available for free in February is Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. Persona is a fighter franchise and number four offers decent gameplay, although the story is a little lacking.
Helldivers: Democracy Strikes Back is also available for the PlayStation 3 but this title can be picked up for the PlayStation 4 and the PS Vita too. Nom Nom Galaxy is the only PS4 exclusive title in February, whilst PS Vita owners will be able to

A brand new trailer has been released for Tekken 7 and it showcases a new addition to the Japanese arcade version of the game. In the trailer, Akuma from Street Fighter is showcased as a character, suggesting that he will soon be added to the Tekken 7 roster. Whilst this trailer is aimed for those who play the Japanese arcade version, it's likely that Akuma will come to Tekken 7 once the game gets a worldwide console release.
It's very common for fighting games to include guest characters from other games, TV shows or movies so seeing Akuma in Tekken 7 would be awesome. Akuma should have a move set that is very similar to his move set in the Street Fighter franchise so when you're playing him, it really "feels" like you're playing the real Akuma. Interestingly, even though Akuma is coming to Tekken 7, he has not been announced for Street Fighter V.
Akuma will be added to the next Japanese arcade Tekken 7 update, which has been named Fated Retribution. On top of the inclusion

Mortal Kombat X and Tekken 7 have already been announced, and Killer Instinct has been available for free on the Xbox One since it's launch, and in the coming years, Street Fighter will also make it's debut to the new generation of consoles, new details reveal.
Yoshinori Ono recently revealed details for a new Street Fighter game for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One on Twitter by stating "Hahaha, some time or other..." After being asked about the possibility of a PS4 or Xbox One Street Fighter title.
This new information reveals that Capcom do have plans for a new Street Fighter game for both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, but it may be a while before we finally see it make an appearance. It's likely the game is still in early development stages, if it's even started development at all.
Yoshinori Ono also revealed on twitter that there are no plans to release a Street Fighter game for the Wii U, once again showing that hardly publishers are interested in releasing

Lords of the Fallen is an RPG that first made it's voice heard at E3. There wasn't really much to look at apart from a teaser trailer, but that then followed with another trailer at Gamescom and it started to look very impressive.
Once again, Lords of the Fallen has managed to impress visitors of PAX with gameplay demos, and I must admit I am definitely looking forward to this game.
The cinematic trailer we've seen shows a character wearing heavy armor as he fights his way to what looks like a very powerful hammer. Later on in the trailer we find out that this very powerful hammer is indeed a very, very powerful hammer. What follows is a very intense battle against what looks like some kind of oversized balrog in a snowy arctic desert.
The game looks to be a very promising RPG title that most likely will take inspiration from games such as the Darksiders series.
The developers have said that they want each fight to feel like a Tekken or Street Fighter battle
