Ubisoft: Watch Dogs will be Delayed Till Spring 2014
The next gen line up so far has looked absolutely amazing, and many games have sparked interest towards both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
It seems that the golden launch was a little too good to be true though, as Drive Club, and now Watch Dogs have been set back to ensure the games are truly 100% complete.
Whilst this is a bit of a shame because we won't be able to play these games on launch day, it is good that developers are taking extra time to make sure their games are the best that they can be.
I'm hoping that's the case with Watch Dogs, as Ubisoft have confirmed that the game will be delayed till spring 2014.
Ubisoft made an official statement on the delay, with CEO Alain Martinez giving his humblest apologies and reasoning's behind the delay,
"Our ambition from the start with Watch Dogs has been to deliver something that embodies what we wanted to see in the next-generation of gaming, it is with this in mind that we've made the tough decision to delay the release until Spring 2014."
"We know a lot of you are probably wondering 'why now?' We struggled with whether we would delay the game. But from the beginning, we have adopted the attitude that we will not compromise on quality.
"As we got closer to release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune every detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience."
Despite Alain not believing the delay will hurt sales, Ubisoft's share value has plummeted since the announcement of the delay.
It is unfortunate that Ubisoft have had to push back Watch Dogs, but it's important to remember that Ubisoft are focusing on releasing the best game experience possible with Watch Dogs, and I'm impatiently waiting to get my hands on it.
