Uncharted is easily one of the most recognizable franchises globally, with each game being more exciting and fun than the last. And along with bringing a change to the overall aesthetic of each game, Naughty Dog would even continue the story from the first game until its end in the fourth and final installment. And for PS5 owners who didn't get a chance to experience the final installment or the side story before, they can finally do so with the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Edition.
Uncharted 4, But Better
Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves is a bundled version that comes with Uncharted 4 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Both games, right off the bat, feature better frame rates and different modes where people can easily choose their preferred gameplay style. Looking to experience the full capabilities of the PS5 without much care for the performance, you can choose the high-fidelity mode, which offers pure 4K screen resolution at 30FPS. The colors and the talent of the design team shine through with this particular mode and allow people to appreciate its artistry better.
Of course, if you're looking for high octane shootouts with no compromises to gameplay, then you will love the high-performance mode. Running at a buttery smooth 120 fps, the game manages to keep this framerate for most of the sequences, with only a few short dips and more bombastic set pieces. The only real downside to this version is that it drops its resolution down to 1080P.
Finally, if you want the perfect blend between beautiful, crisp graphics and buttery smooth gameplay, the balanced mode will be more your style. The framerate locks to 60fps while offering a resolution of 1440P, perfect for most players.
Same Old, But Shinier
As a package, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy has a single string to its bow. Granted, it is the shiniest and prettiest string right now despite its age. But as a package, people who already owned Uncharted 4 or Uncharted: The Lost Legacy get nothing new than the shinier enhancements.
The story for both games remains the same, with the only noticeable upgrade coming to its gameplay. The gameplay feels smoother and more responsive, with the action better tuned to the adaptive triggers of the Dualshock 5. It is easily one of the best features in the game, with grainy vibration motors even acting differently than the DualShock 4.
However, if you already have the original games, you could just pay the extra $10 and upgrade your PS4 versions. Seeing how Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves does come at an increased price of $70, many have preferred this option.
New Players Hit the Jackpot
While this doesn't seem like a very good deal for older players, newer players, a few of them are, are getting two AAA games for the price of one. So if you didn't get a chance to play the games before, this could be a good game to buy.
