The gamer for whom this controller was built was unable to comfortably bring their hands together to hold a traditional Xbox 360 controller. As a result, a standard controller design created a significant barrier to enjoying video games.
To solve this challenge, the original Xbox 360 controller was carefully separated into two independent halves. This process involved cutting through both the controller housing and the internal circuit board, then completely rebuilding the controller's internal wiring.
Each half of the controller was connected to a custom central housing that contained the primary Xbox 360 electronics. Through extensive rewiring and custom engineering, all controller functions were preserved while allowing the left and right sides of the controller to operate independently.
