More Star Wars Battlefront Campaign Details Revealed

So far, we know that Star Wars Battlefront II is getting a single player campaign, but we know relatively little information about it.

This is quite surprising considering how close we are to the launch now. Thankfully, we have a few more snippets of information today that we can use to help slowly piece together the Star Wars Battlefront campaign story.

Battlefront II producer David Robillard has revealed the length of the Star Wars Battlefront campaign. According to Robillard, the playtime is roughly 5 to 8 hours, depending on how well you can play against the AI opponents.

Considering that this is usually the average length of a single player campaign for AAA first-person shooter games, I think we've got something special to look forward to. There are no details of any level of replayability for the single player campaign yet. These days, most campaigns seem to have very little replay value.

It'd be great to go back to the days of Halo 3 - during those times it seemed couch co-op campaigns with massive replayability were a big focus for developers. These days there's less focus on the single player, and more focus on the multiplayer. This is certainly the case for Star Wars Battlefront 2, but at least they did actually include a single player campaign this time around.

So, in summary, it might not be wise purchasing Star Wars Battlefront 2 on release just for the single-player campaign, but if you plan on playing the game for both the multiplayer and the single player, you'll definitely get your money's worth out of it.
