Rune: Ragnarok Is A New Upcoming Open World RPG

Human Head, the same development team as Prey and Prey 2, is now working on a brand new open world RPG game called Rune: Ragnarok.

Surprisingly, Rune: Ragnarok isn't the first Rune game in the franchise. In fact, Human Head created a game called Rune that released way back in 2000.

It looks like Rune: Ragnarok will be the game to revitalize that universe in an exciting new way. So far, we know very little about Rune: Ragnarok other than that the development team is working on it, and it'll be released some point in the future.

No details on release windows or gameplay reveal trailers have yet been mentioned.

We do have a single non-gameplay reveal trailer though. In the reveal trailer the narrator is heard saying the following:

"From birth, the children of the North hear tales of the end of the world. A battle so great the gods fall and the Nine Worlds are consumed by frost and fire. But these tales are false. The gods did not perish. For seven years our worlds have been devoured by death and destruction. Now, mankind must rise and do what the gods could not. Ragnarok must end."

We don't have any information about which platforms the new Ragnarok game will be launched on, but Human Head does mention on their website that they work on PC, consoles, VR, and mobile devices. Hopefully, Rune Ragnarok will get a launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. We may even see some VR-related gameplay if we're lucky.
