Sony Shows MLB the Show 20 Trailer

Sony-owned studio SIE San Diego Studios has released the reveal trailer for MLB The Show 20 this week, showing that the upcoming game may have a new focus on defensive play.

The game is the last iteration of the game that will be exclusive to the PlayStation platform, as the game will be coming to other platforms like Xbox and PC due to pressure from MLB on Sony. This new game looks fantastic and shows off even more detail on players and stadiums than ever before.

MLB The Show 20 will be launched on March 17th, which coincides with Spring Training but comes just before the start of the regular season. The game’s cover athlete this year is Chicago Cub Javier Baez, and he’ll be on the standard edition’s cover. New additions to the legends roster of players are also incoming, with the likes of Gary Sheffield, David Ortiz, and Mariano Rivera all playable within the game.

Every iteration of The Show has had a fantastic career mode, and we can’t wait to see what this year’s version plays like. In The Show 19, I personally took my player up through the minors to the big leagues, where I dominated as a starting pitcher before entering a nasty contract dispute and being traded to a different team. The mode was deep with RPG style development mechanics, and I hope this continues in the newest version.
