The months leading up to the Holiday season are always pretty hectic, but for major tech manufacturers like Microsoft, things get incredibly crazy. With the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 currently fighting for the top spot, Microsoft had a lot to do to manage to get an upper hand on Sony's new console.
One way Xbox managed to do this was by pushing for more deals and better bargains, and over the black Friday weekend, Microsoft managed to rake in a huge amount of sales thanks to their discounts around the globe, and this actually helped them to secure the most sold console units for that month.
It isn't going to stop at black Friday either - Microsoft have learned that good deals make sales, and in tune with this they have regularly been putting up discounts on their consoles, and most recently, their first party titles, and some selected third party games as well.
Firstly, digital copies of both Destiny and Call of Duty Advanced Warfare have been put up for just $19.99,

I can't be sure whether this is a practical joke by Rockstar, or someone at their office decided to start April fools a whole four months early, but according to reports, Rockstar are gearing up to release their patch notes for a new update this month, and the exciting part is that they will contain the long awaited GTA Online heist missions.
Rockstar did of course mentioned fairly recently that the first update to come after the release of the new console ports would include the new GTA heists, but after waiting so long, it's almost quite hard to believe.
However, in the new patch notes for an update planned for December 23rd, it looks as if heists will be making their way to GTA Online, alongside other game changes. Unfortunately, this information only comes from a 'tipster' from within the development team, so we can't promise that any of this information is true or not.
Interestingly, Rockstar has tried to cover up any spread information of the new update leaks,

Ever since the release of Destiny, Bungie have been filling the game with variations on different challenges each week. These weekly challenges are something that often keep players coming back for more, and these, alongside other timed challenges such as the heroic missions are the core of end-game gameplay.
Unfortunately, the new Destiny DLC, the Dark Below, has caused some trouble with the way weekly's and heroics work, and many Destiny players have sparked outrage in the Destiny community.
Currently, because of the way the Dark Below works, often the weekly missions and heroics are selected for the new DLC areas, which prevents any non-paying members from getting their hands on their weekly challenges.
The only solution for players at this point in time is to purchase the $19.99 DLC, and without doing so weekly's will remain locked out for those players. Honestly, I don't see Bungie doing this purposely, and I'm sure it will be addressed shortly. Still, I do think

Ubisoft made a big mistake with AC: Unity - the game was tacky, not prepared properly, and fell apart on many people's consoles. Of course, when it came to story and actual gameplay content, Unity was actually pretty impressive, and this is why I'm quite excited to hear about rumors for Ubisoft's upcoming Assassin's Creed game.
There are two reasons why I am excited, the next Assassin's Creed game couldn't possibly be launched in a state anywhere near as bad as Unity was, unless Ubisoft are purposely trying to murder the franchise.
The second reason is because, according to some rumors, the new Assassin's Creed game will be set in Victorian age London. We've seen plenty of revolutions in the Assassin's Creed universe now, but taking things back to the Victorian age will open up some interesting possibilities.
If the next AC game is set in Victorian age London, we can expect dark London streets and plenty of opportunity for great assassinations thanks to the great buildings

If we go back a year to the release of Titanfall, you may remember all of the frustration over the Titanfall Xbox One exclusivity deal. Because of the huge amount of hype behind the game, Respawn Entertainment managed to sell quite a few Xbox's for Microsoft, but despite this, rumors kept spreading that Titanfall 2, a game that is definitely in the works, will not be an Xbox exclusive, despite the status of it's predecessor.
Of course, at the time there was no proof that Titanfall 2 would be available for any console other than those owned by Microsoft, but shortly after Respawn did mention that they would not have to be locked down to Microsoft's system with their next games. This instantly made many people believe that Titanfall 2 was headed for cross-platform, and there wasn't much to deny it.
To further cement the rumors that Respawn Entertainment will be ending their exclusivity deal for Titanfall, recently the Respawn developers were spotted at the PlayStation conference,

If you weren't accustomed to the name already, Lizard Squad is the title given to a group of online hackers that have spent their time bringing down online services for big corporations, and in the past they have managed to attack Sony, League of Legends and many other companies, typically related to the video game industry.
They have now set their sights on an even bigger challenge, and it is actually quite scary, considering the damage they have done in the past. Lizard Squad took to Twitter earlier this month to announce that the plan to bring down Xbox Live on December 25th, and they hope to keep it down forever.
The tweet stated, "This is not a threat, but a promise. On Christmas we will tap in to Microsoft and shut down Xbox Live, forever!"
Obviously, Microsoft are taking the issue very seriously, and I'm sure they will do their best to ensure server performance is as good as possible leading up to Christmas. Microsoft did issue a warning that increased traffic

Telltale are pretty good at telling tales, let's be honest. They created the award winning The Walking Dead series, managed to live up to their high expectations with The Wolf Among Us, and very recently they returned to their story-telling roots by releasing Tales of The Borderlands - a great new game that follows the concoction Telltale are known for whilst exploring the backstory behind the Borderlands universe.
Now, they have plans to release their in-development Game of Thrones game, and it's launch date has been set for December 2nd. On this date, the first part of a six episode series will be released for PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PlayStation 4, with an iOS release following shortly after.
It seems that the entire Game of Thrones six-piece series will be available for just $30, although details on whether players will be able to buy each episode separately have not yet been mentioned by anyone at Telltale.

Sledgehammer Games have just announced a brand new armor set for Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, but it will be limited to the very best players in the world.
To get the newly announced armor, you will need to do more than just good. In fact, only the top 100 players in the world will be given access to it.
The armor is a gold plated version of the bloodthirster armor, which can only be unlocked by receiving killstreaks within a multiplayer game. On top of earning the awesome gold plate armor set, the top 100 players will also be given the Grand Master name tag.
Unfortunately, Sledgehammer Games have not revealed all of the details about this new armor yet, so we're unsure how the developer will rank the top 100 players. Whether or not it will be based on kill/death ratio, top played time, or simply the top 100 players in the global leaderboards, we're not sure, but we'll be sure to let you know as more details are revealed.
As for the release date for the new

Grand Theft Auto has always been filled with hilarious cheats, and whilst the cheats in Grand Theft Auto IV could be accessed via Niko's cell phone, they could only be accessed on the last gen version of GTA V via in-game button combinations.
The new version of GTA V, which was released for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, has now been confirmed to have cheats that can be activated via the cell phone, as well as through in-game button combinations.
We aren't sure whether Rockstar have added any new cheats to the franchise, but we have compiled a list of the cheats that we are currently aware of, along with the numbers needed to access them.
If you open up the cell phone dialler app whilst playing as Trevor, Michael or Franklin and type in any one of these numbers the corresponding cheat will be activated.

It seems that developers can't keep away from the lure of bringing their last gen games to the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, and seeing as the new version of GTA V managed to bring in over 3 million sales on it's first week, there is no blaming them.
One such developer that has been rumored to join the next gen remake game is From Software, the guys behind the disgustingly challenging Dark Souls 2.
Whilst they already have plans to bring Bloodborne to the PS4, which will be a completely new game for new gen consoles, From Software have also been working on a new remake for PS4 and Xbox One, according to Namco Bandai, From Software's publishers.
The new remake edition will be called Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin, and it will come with the full game and the three previously released DLC packs. Whilst the exciting part of this news is based on the fact that the game will come to Xbox One and PS4, the new remake will also make it to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
