EA's game vs Activision's game. The rivalry begins.

Jordan versus Bird, Holmes versus Moriarty, Aristotle versus Mashy Spike Plate, and now EA vs. Activision. It seems the two companies have a growing rivalry right now. According to G4, it seems that EA's CEO John Riccitiello is fired up about Battlefield 3 and it's tension with Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. In an interview with CNBC, he talk about the atmosphere between the two companies of being like the "Clash of the Titans". He added that while Call of Duty has an advantage in name-recognition, he says that he is confident that Battlefield 3 will emerge victorious because he thinks EA is producing a better game in comparison.

"I picked their launch window, on purpose, because, side-by-side, our game is better in so many ways," ~John Riccitiello, CEO of EA.

He added that while Activision has been using an old game engine, EA has been building on a new one over the years.

No word yet on what Activision has to say in response to John Riccitiello's interview with CNBC but likely knowing how Bobby Kotick thinks and works, he won't let it get by him. It is very likely the CEO of Activision will put on his sparing gloves and give some pointers about his company's game sometime in the future, giving a comparison or two or ten.

So G4 decided to give us a side by side comparison video of the two games, which you can see in the link mentioned below. Personally, I have no bias on one game or the other. Both have their strong points and whenever I did a side by side comparison, it always ended up in a tie. Until the games are released, I bet most of us will have the same kind of results, because both are looking to be that awesome.
