evo 2016

EVO 2016 has come to a close. It's been a fun weekend and plenty of things have happened. Of course the main events at EVO are the tournaments - over the weekend we have seen thousands of players battle it out and a very select few went home with a win.

In some of our previous articles we have shared a little bit about some of the final events for some of the games, but this place is a great spot for anybody interested in an overall EVO 2016 roundup.

Below we have listed all of the results for the grand finals of each game that featured at EVO 2016.

First up, we have results from Super Smash Bros. Melee. At this event, many familiar faces fought for the top spot. In the end, we were happy to see that Jigglypuff player Hungrybox had managed to take first place after beating Armada in the grand final.

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, the final saw Kamemushi and Ally fight it out. Kamemushi chose to opt for Yoshi at the beginning, but as Ally pulled in wins, Kamemushi quickly switched to Megaman. It was a surprising pick, and whilst it did him justice earlier in the tournament, Ally managed to secure a victory in the Wii U grand finals.

Mortal Kombat XL saw SonicFox take the victory against Tekken Master, although it was very close. The same can be said for the Tekken 7 tournament grand final - an insanely close battle put Knee in second place and Saint in first place in their Bryan vs JACK-7 matchup.

NYChrisG came first in the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 tournament, Machaboo came out on top in Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator, Infiltration became reigning champ in Street Fighter V, Tonosama won the Pokken Tournament, Sleep came first place in Killer Instinct and Xiao Hai was the king in King of Fighters 14.
