First Destiny 2 Raid Goes Live

The first raid for Destiny 2 has finally gone live and we've got some unique details to share about it.

Bungie's game director, Luke Smith, has revealed that the first raid will require a power level between 260 and 280. For those that haven't had a chance to play much Destiny 2 yet, you've got some catching up to do before the raid will be accessible to you.

Raids have always been the most challenging aspect of the Destiny game world, so it makes sense that a minimum power level cap has been set to make sure inexperienced players don't accidentally walk into a world filled with pain.

The first raid for Destiny 2 is called Leviathan. So far, we're not sure how the raid will work, or what enemies it will consist of. We do know, however, that players that do not yet have a team of friends to join them can now use matchmaking to find existing teams to play alongside.

Leviathan originally launched on September 13 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. We're expecting to see more raids released over the next couple of years, but for now, this first Leviathan raid will certainly keep players busy for the next few weeks.

Destiny 2 originally launched on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 6, 2017. The game has already broken some massive records, including a 1.2 million concurrent player count. These numbers are only expected to increase when Destiny 2 gets a launch on PC on October 24.
