forza motorsport 6It looks like Turn 10 have been busy. The next iteration in the lineup of Forza Motorsport games has been announced. Forza Motorsport 6 will be launching exclusively on Xbox One, and Microsoft have teamed up with Ford to give the new Ford GT a starring role in the game.

Whilst we weren't expecting such an early announcement of Forza 6, Microsoft took to the North American International Auto Show to announce the new game, and it's clear that the Ford GT will be the car to feature on the cover of the upcoming game by Turn 10.

The release of Forza Motorsport 6 will mark the tenth year anniversary of the game series, so as you can imagine, Turn 10 are feeling like doing something pretty special with the game. Alan Hartman, studio manager for Turn 10 mentioned that, "When we first were doing these, it would be kind of like, 'Hey please, can we have that new car you showed in Detroit?' That's where we were back 10 years ago. But over the last three or four years, the involvement with the manufacturers has really changed. They have really come to recognize that this is a very important venue for them,"

So as you can imagine, manufacturers are now reaching out to games developers like Turn 10 to have their vehicles featured in their racing games. I think it's a nice transition in the game industry, and it shows that games are just enough of a powerful medium to translate ideas and products like any other.

Let's just hope this new deal with Ford will allow Turn 10 to put more into the base game and less into extra DLC content like they have done with Forza Motorsport 5.
