gran turismo 7 2014Development for the first PS4-based Gran Turismo game is well under way, but it's unlikely the title will ever be released this year. A seventh Gran Turismo title was bound to happen, we've just entered a new generation of consoles, and Sony's front runner racing title needs to show it's face on the PlayStation 4 at some point or another, but so far it's looking more likely that Gran Turismo 7 will release some time in 2015.

According to Kazunori Yamauchi, the next Gran Turismo title will not be a prologue like many previously expected it to be, and it will be as much of a fully featured game as any other Gran Turismo title has been thus far.

Whilst a lot of work went on the sounds in Gran Turismo 6, the seventh title in the series will be a true milestone for the franchise, as a lot of work will be put into the overall gameplay mechanics, and Yamauchi explained that players should expect a lot of major game changes in GT 7.

Gran Turismo 7 should also adopt the huge catalogue of cars already available on GT 6, however some of the cars may end up making it into the premium car catalogue.

Gran Turismo has always been an amazing racing franchise, but with competitors like Drive Club and The Crew being released shortly, will GT 7 be able to live up to it's expectations? Hopefully, we'll find out soon enough.
