halo 2 anniversary 1080pAt E3, Microsoft were very keen to introduce plenty of titles that will be playable in 1080P at a full, steady 60FPS, but it looks like new reports suggest this won't be entirely true. After rumors about a lack of 1080P support for Halo: The Master Chief Collection hit the web, 343 Industries' head, Frank O'Connor addressed the speculation.

According to Frank O'Connor, all of the multiplayer segments of the Master Chief Collection, including Halo 2 and Halo 2 anniversary will run at 60FPS at a resolution of 1080P, but it is possible that the campaign of the Halo 2 anniversary will run at a different resolution.

This resolution change will help ensure that the Halo 2 anniversary campaign runs at a solid 60 frames per second, as it seems 343 are having issues reaching a decent frame rate for the Master Collection segment on 1080P.

These current resolution choices are not 100% final, though, and the current Halo 2 anniversary graphics are still work in progress, so it's possible that the 1080P resolution could be released for the anniversary campaign by the time the game collection has been released.

Whilst it's a shame that the Halo 2 anniversary campaign may not be played at a 1080P resolution, I don't personally see it as anything to get mad over. The reasons why the 1080P resolution can't be reached on the Xbox One is unclear, but it sounds as if it is something to do with the new anniversary graphics, and if that is the case, it's very likely the standard Halo 2 graphics will still be displayed with a 1080P resolution.
