Gran Turismo Sport Getting Free Demo

If you're not sure if you'll be interested in the upcoming Gran Turismo Sport racing game for the PlayStation 4, you may want to give the free demo a try.

Sony has confirmed that PS4 owners will be able to give Gran Turismo Sport a test run for free from October 9 until October 12. This will essentially follow the same beta pre-release model many triple-A publishers have been following in recent years.

If you're a PS Plus member, you'll get more time than those without PS Plus. Firstly, PS Plus members will be given the option to preload the Gran Turismo Sport demo before its starting date on October 9. They'll also be able to get started on October 9 at 12 AM, while non-Plus members must wait until 6 PM.

The preload period for PS Plus members will start on October 7. Players who earn money or unlock cars in the Gran Turismo demo can also transfer their progress to the full release later in the month on October 17.

All car unlocks can be transferred to the full game and in-game earnings up to $1,000,000 can also be transferred.

In the demo, three different modes will be available. These modes are Sport Mode, Arcade, and Campaign. Arcade mode is described as "a wide range of vehicle classes on three pre-selected circuit configurations with different terrains." This mode also supports two-player split screen.

Sport mode challenges players to achieve the best lap time possible, whereas Campaign mode gives players a career to progress through that'll include a series of races, challenges, and Daily Workouts.
