gta v ps4 install sizeWe've talked a little bit in the past about large game install sizes, but today we have some crazy news to share with you. It has been rumored that Grand Theft Auto V for the PlayStation 4 could take exactly 50GB of storage space from your beloved PS4's hard drive.

That is a huge 10% of the default hard drive that comes with the PS4, and that is only for one game - this does not include any content patches or DLC that Rockstar may plan to release in the future.

50GB may not seem like much, but it's starting to reach the point where many games require between 30GB and 50GB free for install space, and over the next few years that size may keep going up.

For those with slow connections, this is a very large issue, and it makes paying for digital games almost impossible. It's great to see that Sony and Microsoft are now offering digital downloads for their games, but it is not a very viable option, considering that it would only take around 10 games to fill up an entire hard drive.

For now, physical discs and Blu-rays are still the way to go, and until devices start including more storage space as standard, it's going to be a long, long time before installs overtake sales of physical sales for console video games.

Whilst there has been no mention of the GTA V Xbox One storage size, it's likely to be very similar or identical to that of the PlayStation 4.
