white ps4 standaloneTo celebrate the release of Destiny, most of Europe and the UK received a brand new PS4 bundle that included a copy of Destiny and a white PlayStation 4, along with a DualShock 4 controller.

Now that the release of Destiny has long since gone, the white PS4 bundles have slowly died out, but Sony have seen demand for the product and have decided to make plans to release the white variant of the console as a standalone device.

Shuhei Yoshida has revealed that the white PlayStation 4 will be released as a standalone product very soon, but unfortunately the console will be limited to Europe for now. As with the Destiny bundle, Yoshida failed to mention anything about a North American release for the white version.

The white standalone PlayStation 4 will cost £350, which is slightly more than the current £329 street price of the PS4. Of course, if you're in the US and you really want a white PS4, you might have to pay considerably more to get it shipped over here.

Besides from the color change, there are absolutely no differences between the white PS4 console and the black PS4 console, and hardware-wise everything is the same.

Whether or not you like the white console will probably come down to preference, but it's a shame that only those in Europe or the UK will be given the option to choose between a white or a black PlayStation 4.
