The one thing that Gran Turismo has done well is build upon their existing franchise each time a new game comes out, making each new addition to the franchise more feature packed than the last one.

The legend himself, Kazunori Yamauchi, announced Gran Turismo 6 for PlayStation 3 at Sony's GT 15th anniversary celebration and it is certainly looking as featured packed as we've expected GT games to be.

The game is said to include a total of 1,200 drivable cars, some of which are new to the series, and plenty more have been planned for additional content in the future.

The game will also include 7 new tracks, making 33 in total, and a brand new improved engine has been added that has been built with the help of KW Automotive and Yokohama Rubber, two companies that have experience in the field of tire, suspension and kinetic modeling.

Gran Turismo 6 should be the most realistic GT game yet, and with the inclusion of a bunch of new cars, and a total of 33 tracks, there's no doubt that the game will be packed with content that can keep the average gamer playing for hours.

Gran Turismo 6 should be released in late 2013 for PS3, and Yamauchi has also stated that they do have plans for a PlayStation 4 release.
