Ninja Thinks eSports Will Be an Olympic Sport

The biggest name in video games shared his opinion that he thinks video games will be an Olympic sport in the near future, this according to gossip site TMZ.

Tyler “Ninja” Blevins was caught up with by a TMZ paparazzo this past week and was asked his opinion on the growth of the eSports industry. Blevins said that he thinks the industry is still growing, and it will only be a matter of time before video games are played on a competitive level internationally at the Olympics.

Speaking to TMZ, Ninja said, "For me, I just think it's going to be time," Ninja tells TMZ Sports. "I think that obviously, the younger generation enjoys eSports and enjoys watching video games. Eventually, that's what they're gonna want and that's what the TV people are gonna want to show and represent.”

"Just give a little bit of time and eSports will be there.”

Ninja recently made news when he switched from popular streaming site Twitch to Microsoft-owned Mixer. His move was met by hundreds of thousands of followers, who flocked to check out his streams. The move reportedly netted Ninja millions of dollars, as it was a large jump down from the top streaming platform in the world.
